Overview

Locations follow the suburbs and councils you actually serve, every conversion is proved with a test enquiry before spend starts, and wasted searches are cut each week. The fee sits between A$990 and A$9,800 a month, month-to-month, with your figure and notice written down before you sign. For planning: Melbourne “service + city” clicks had a median of A$16.95 (Digital Nomads HQ, May 2026 data). Ashish Sharma's team runs it remotely from Lucknow, India; there is no Melbourne office.

Quick answer

How much does a Google Ads agency in Melbourne charge?

Australian agencies typically charge A$800–A$2,000 a month to manage an account (Digital Nomads HQ national benchmark, updated July 2026), and Google bills the clicks on top, plus 10% GST on that spend. When we read Melbourne's page-1 agencies on 7 October 2026, one of eight printed a fee: Spicy Web, from A$2,200 a month. Others hint at floors through their enquiry forms: SIXGUN's smallest budget bracket is A$1,000–A$2,000 a month, 80/20's A$1,500–A$3,000, and Impressive says it works best above A$5,000 a month of ad spend. Ours is A$990–A$9,800 a month; at our floor, A$2,000 of clicks comes to A$3,190 a month all-in.

  • Melbourne clicks: median A$16.95, middle half A$4.79–A$31.11, up 14% year on year (DNHQ, May 2026 data)
  • A$2,000 of spend buys roughly 64 to 418 clicks, depending on keywords
  • Lock-in: ours is month-to-month; of the eight page-1 agencies, only Dilate and AIA say the same
  • Your exact fee and notice period are put in writing before you sign

Google Ads management in Melbourne: what PPC agencies charge, and what they publish

How much does it cost to use a Google Ads agency in Melbourne? On 7 October 2026 we read every organic page-1 result for “google ads agency melbourne”. Only Spicy Web prints a fee, and none puts fee, budget floor, term and office on one page.

How much should you pay someone to manage your Google Ads? Start from spend: an A$990 fee nearly doubles the cost of A$1,000 of clicks but adds about a quarter to A$4,000.

What a click costs in Melbourne in 2026, and what A$1,000 to A$5,000 buys

How much do Google Ads cost per click in Melbourne? Digital Nomads HQ's index of “service + city” searches puts the Melbourne median at A$16.95 in its May 2026 data, up 14% year on year, with the middle half of keywords between A$4.79 and A$31.11.

That top-to-bottom ratio, about 6.5 times, is the widest of the six cities indexed; Sydney's is about 4.5 and Perth's about 4.4 (our arithmetic). Keyword choice moves a Melbourne bill more than anywhere else measured. AIA and farsiight both ask the cost question on their Melbourne pages and give no figure.

Every row uses our A$990 floor. The two larger rows say “from” because a bigger account can sit higher in the band, and the band isn't priced per tier.

Is A$10 a day enough? See the FAQ below, or send your budget and three keywords for a per-keyword estimate.

Google Ads suburb targeting in Melbourne: councils, postcodes and City Regions

Can you target specific Melbourne suburbs, postcodes or councils? Yes, in four overlapping ways, counted here from Google's geotargets file dated 12 August 2026.

  • Cardinia and Yarra Ranges: build a suburb list

Greater Melbourne has 31 councils and 29 can be targeted whole. Cardinia Shire and Yarra Ranges Shire can't (“Cardinia” exists only as a locality), so a Pakenham, Officer or Lilydale business lists its suburbs or postcodes instead.

  • Which “Melbourne” did you pick?

Google's file holds two City targets called Melbourne, ID 1000567 (“Melbourne, Victoria”) and ID 9060880 (“Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria”), plus the Melbourne City council target, ID 9112654, which covers only the City of Melbourne council area. Compare the reach Google shows for each before saving.

  • A Casey plumber and a Southbank property agency need different location options

Google's default, “Presence or interest”, can serve an ad to someone in Brisbane who searched for a plumber in Cranbourne. A Casey plumber only wants people physically in Casey, so switch to “Presence”. A Southbank agency selling apartments to Sydney or Perth investors may keep the default on purpose, because those buyers are rarely in Melbourne when they search. Google sets out both in About advanced location options.

New-estate suburbs: targeting Melbourne’s four fastest-growing areas

The ABS's 2024–25 population release names the Melbourne areas that added the most residents. All four sit on the city's edges, and each suburb below is an active Google Ads target; even newly named western estates such as Aintree, Thornhill Park and Deanside have their own. That suits tradies, childcare centres, dental and GP clinics and retailers chasing households that have just moved in.

Matching campaign type to Melbourne’s biggest business categories

ABS business counts for June 2025, summed across Greater Melbourne's 31 councils, show who you are likely bidding against. The campaign column is our usual starting point, not a rule.

Clinic campaigns and the “PPCC” searches

Australian autocomplete turns “melbourne ppc” into “ppcc melbourne cbd” and “inner melbourne ppcc” (collected 7 Oct 2026). Those searchers want Victoria's former Priority Primary Care Centres, which Better Health Channel now lists as Urgent Care Clinics: 38 of them, free, open seven days with no appointment needed (health.vic, updated 20 May 2026). For a GP, physio or allied health campaign, consider these negatives, each only if you don't offer that service: ppcc, priority primary care, urgent care clinic, free, no appointment. Generic job and course negatives are on the national page.

Worked example: a Hawthorn physio clinic putting A$2,000 a month into search

This is arithmetic on Melbourne's quartile click prices, not a forecast or a client result. A Hawthorn physio puts A$2,000 a month into Search, targeting either Boroondara City or its actual catchment: Hawthorn, Hawthorn East and Kew, plus postcode 3124 because Camberwell has no suburb target. The PPCC negatives go in on day one, and the ad text follows Ahpra's rules, summarised on our national page.

A$3,190 a month all-in (A$2,000 spend + A$200 GST + A$990 fee): enquiries and cost per enquiry at two assumed conversion rates (our arithmetic, not a forecast)
CPC scenarioClicksEnquiries at 5%Cost per enquiry at 5%Enquiries at 10%Cost per enquiry at 10%
Top quartile, A$31.1164about 3A$992about 6A$496
Median, A$16.95118about 6A$541about 12A$270
Bottom quartile, A$4.79418about 21A$153about 42A$76

Costs per enquiry divide A$3,190 by unrounded counts. Most of the gap between A$76 and A$992 comes from which keywords you buy, which you exclude, and whether the page turns a visit into a booking; bids matter less than keyword choice. That is why weekly search-term work comes before any budget rise. If the page is the weak link, see WordPress developers or UI/UX design in Melbourne.

Send your clinic type, suburb and budget and we'll rerun this table with your numbers.

Best Google Ads agency in Melbourne? Selection criteria, not a ranking

What is the best Google Ads agency in Melbourne, and what ad agency does Google use? Google doesn't rank agencies, and the comparison lists come from agencies themselves: Web Tonic's 22-agency roundup (29 Aug 2026) ranks its own agency first, so judge any list, ours included, by what you can check.

Google Ads consultant, freelancer, specialist or agency in Melbourne, and where a remote team fits

AdWords is Google Ads' old name (Dilate's page still uses it), and a PPC, SEM or Google Ads agency in Melbourne sells the same search service. Is a specialist worth it? Under roughly A$1,000 a month of clicks, a fee takes too big a share; above that you pay for search-term work most owners skip. Which one fits depends on whether you need a one-off audit, one pair of hands, or cover for leave.

  • One-off audit: a consultant

A second opinion on a running account: a fixed-fee audit and a written list of problems your team then fixes. Remove their access afterwards.

  • One person running one account: a freelancer

Suits one location, one or two campaigns and a steady budget. The weak point is cover when they're sick or away. Confirm the account is in your name before they start.

  • Several channels and cover for leave: an agency

Earns its fee when Search, Shopping and remarketing run together, or someone must always be watching. Check the budget floors in the first table before booking a call.

  • A remote team in Lucknow: what you give up, what you keep

Codingclave has no Melbourne office; founder Ashish Sharma has led the team in Lucknow, India since 2017, and delivery is founder-led, so he is the person you message about your account. If face-to-face meetings matter, a Collingwood or Richmond agency, such as AIA, which stresses it isn't managing accounts from interstate, will suit you better. With us you keep the account, billing and data in your name. Reviews and work: reviews, work, Melbourne overview.

  • The Maps listings, and why we’re not one

When we checked on 7 October 2026, three agencies with Melbourne addresses held the map results for this search. Proximity and Business Profiles decide those spots, so we don't appear there. Your ads can still show your address through location assets, and any Business Profile work happens on your own profile. Organic and map questions: SEO in Melbourne.

How it works

From first message to weekly search-term work

All of it runs over WhatsApp (+91 92771 84741), email and video calls.

Start on WhatsApp
  1. WhatsApp the basics

Suburbs, industry, monthly budget and a location-settings screenshot. Our first answer says whether that budget can carry a fee.

  2. Access that stays yours

Your existing account, or a new one in your name with Melbourne's time zone checked at creation. Campaigns, conversion actions and data stay there, with Admin on your login; ownership of anything else we build is confirmed in writing. Ashish Sharma leads the work, so you deal with the founder rather than a handover.

  3. Tracking proved before spend

Each conversion action gets a test enquiry, and we check it records, before spend starts (how tracking is set up).

  4. Build

Location list, Melbourne negatives and an ad schedule that knows Victorian public holidays.

  5. Run and report

Search terms weekly, a report monthly (what goes in it). Leave on the notice terms you signed; the account was always yours.

Ask on WhatsApp

How much should I pay someone to manage my Google Ads in Melbourne?

Digital Nomads HQ's national benchmark (updated July 2026) puts agency management at A$800–A$2,000 a month. On Melbourne's page 1 (7 October 2026), only Spicy Web printed a fee, from A$2,200. Ours is A$990–A$9,800 a month. Weigh any fee against your spend: on A$1,000 of clicks, our A$990 floor is 47% of the A$2,090 total; on A$4,000 it is 18% of A$5,390. Google's click charges are billed to you separately.

Is $10 a day enough for Google Ads in Melbourne?

For a test, yes; for a managed campaign, rarely. A$10 a day is about A$304 a month, which buys roughly 10 to 63 clicks at Melbourne's middle-half prices of A$4.79–A$31.11 (May 2026). That can test one service in a few suburbs. It won't cover the metro, and a management fee would outweigh the clicks. Google adds 10% GST to its charge.

Can I target specific Melbourne suburbs or postcodes with Google Ads?

Yes. Google's list, dated 12 August 2026, holds 689 Victorian suburbs, 686 postcodes, 50 councils and 11 City Regions, and one campaign can mix them. Cardinia Shire and Yarra Ranges Shire have no council target, so Pakenham or Lilydale businesses list suburbs; Camberwell has no suburb target, so use postcode 3124. If ads still stray, set the location option to Presence.

How long do Google Ads take to work for a Melbourne business?

Ads can show as soon as Google approves them, but judging cost per enquiry needs a sample. Take about 30 enquiries as that sample and assume 5% of clicks enquire. On A$2,000 a month, that takes roughly six weeks at A$4.79 a click, five months at A$16.95 and over nine months at A$31.11. Nobody can promise a timeline or a lead count.

Is there a minimum contract for Google Ads management in Melbourne?

Most page-1 agencies don't say; on 7 October 2026 only Dilate and AIA printed a no lock-in stance. Before signing, ask how many days' notice ends it, whether there's a set-up charge, and whether you pay for the month you leave in. Ours is month-to-month; the notice period, whether a set-up charge applies and how you pay are confirmed in writing for your business before you sign.

Do I need a Melbourne-based agency to run my Google Ads?

No. Campaigns, bids and search terms are managed online, and two page-1 agencies here, Dilate and farsiight, list offices in Fremantle and South Brisbane. An address mainly decides an agency's own Maps listing, which is why we don't appear there. What protects you is an account registered to you, Google billing your card, and terms in writing. Our delivery is founder-led from Lucknow, India, overlapping a 9–5 Melbourne day by 1.5 hours until April 2027.

Can anyone guarantee Google Ads leads or ROAS in Melbourne?

No, and that includes us. Leads depend on click prices, rival bids, your offer and your landing page, and no manager controls all of those. What a manager can commit to is the work: conversion tracking proved with a test enquiry, weekly search-term exclusions, and a monthly report you can check against Google's invoice. Judge a specialist on cost per enquiry over two or three months.

Who is the best Google Ads agency in Melbourne?

No independent ranking exists. Google doesn't rank or recommend individual agencies: its Partner and Premier Partner badges reflect certification and account criteria, and its Partner directory lists badge holders, not a ranking. Codingclave holds neither badge. Choose on what you can verify: fee and term in writing, an account in your name, search terms you can open, and claims with a baseline.
