Overview
GST on WordPress, or A$1,200–A$6,900 as a custom build. The build takes 1–3 weeks, counted from the day you approve the copy and photos. Book Now opens your practice software's diary, offers and galleries are worded with Ahpra's rules in view, and fees, health funds and CDBS sit two taps from any page. We are a founder-led team in Lucknow, India, free for calls after your last patient leaves, Saturdays included.

Quick answer
How much does a dental website cost?
Australian dental agencies that publish a price charge roughly $3,000 to $15,000: Dental Rank $3,850 fixed (4–8 weeks), Practice Boost from $3,000+, and dentistwebdesign.com.au $5,000–$15,000. None says whether GST is included, so the comparison is approximate. We charge A$900–A$4,300 excl. GST on WordPress and A$1,200–A$6,900 excl. GST for a custom build. Most of the difference is our lower cost base in Lucknow; the rest is scope. One location, copy you supply and a booking link-out sit near the bottom of a band; several locations, copy we draft, an embedded widget and old-site migration move it up. A single practice editing its own pages suits WordPress; groups and custom intake suit a custom build.
- Published agency prices: $3,000+ to $15,000, checked 6 Oct 2026
- Ours: A$900–A$4,300 WordPress, A$1,200–A$6,900 custom, excl. GST
- Your exact figure is fixed in the quote before any work starts

Core requirements for an Australian dental website
An Australian dental website must get patients booked fast while staying inside health advertising rules. That means seven things:
- Book Now above the fold, linked to the diary in your practice software, not an enquiry form.
- Titles that match the register, so no general dentist reads as a specialist.
- Treatment pages that describe instead of promise.
- Offers shown with their terms right beside them.
- Fees, health funds and CDBS information within two taps.
- Forms that treat health details as sensitive, never plain-text email.
- WCAG 2.2 AA and a tap-to-call emergency number for patients who are anxious, older or in pain.
For scale, the Dental Board of Australia counted 28,406 registered dental practitioners in 2024/25, 74.4% of them dentists (Dental Board annual summary). Every one of them is bound by the same advertising rules under the National Law.

The pages a dental practice website should have, and what each one must do
The best website design for a dental clinic takes each patient from a search to the right page, and from that page to a booked appointment, without guesswork. If you have been browsing dental website examples, the strongest Australian practice sites share a short list of habits: Book Now visible on arrival, real photos of the team and rooms, a fees page, and one page per location. Below is the page plan we start from, trimmed to the treatments you actually provide.
| Page | What the patient is trying to do | Dental detail to get right |
|---|---|---|
| Home | Find Book Now and the phone number within one screen | Suburb, hours and preferred-provider funds visible without scrolling; no superlatives |
| New patients: your first visit | Settle nerves and know what will happen | The first appointment step by step, what to bring, the intake form link |
| Emergency dentist | Be seen today, or know what to do tonight | Tap-to-call number first, same-day policy, after-hours instructions |
| Dental implants | Understand stages and cost before a consult | Stages in plain words, who places the implant, no 'pain-free' promises |
| Clear aligners | Check whether aligners suit them and who provides them | A general dentist offering aligners is not described as an orthodontist (see the Ahpra section below) |
| Children's dentistry | Find out whether the visit is covered | CDBS eligibility and cap explained; no cosmetic advertising aimed at under-18s |
| Fees, health funds and payment | Estimate the cost and how to claim | Fee ranges, claiming on the day, payment plans with terms |
| Dentists and hygienists | Choose who to see | Titles as shown on the public register, and the days each person works where |
| Location page, one per practice | Get there and park | Address, parking, step-free access, hours, its own booking link |
Write the four or five treatments that earn most of your revenue, such as implants, aligners or emergency care, in real depth before adding thinner pages. That is the 80/20 rule in dentistry as practice owners use it: the Pareto idea that a minority of treatments or patients brings in most of the income (researchers also use the phrase for decay clustering in a minority of children).

Ahpra and dental advertising: wording that causes trouble, and what to publish instead
Ahpra's advertising rules apply to every page of a dental website and every social account the practice controls, because section 133 of the National Law covers anyone advertising a regulated health service. A breach can cost up to $60,000 per offence for an individual practitioner, or $120,000 where the advertiser is a company (Ahpra). The general prohibitions are on our medical and allied health clinics page; this section covers cases specific to dentistry.
Does the September 2025 cosmetic guideline cover your practice?
The guidelines on performing and advertising higher-risk non-surgical cosmetic procedures started on 2 September 2025 and reach dental practitioners. The Dental Board's announcement gave anti-wrinkle injections, fillers and veneers as examples (Dental Board). Whether another treatment you advertise is in scope depends on the guideline's own definition, so check it before we write that page.
Who signs off the wording
On your own website the practice is the advertiser. We flag risky wording and suggest safer versions; you, or your adviser, approve each page. We build websites, we are not lawyers, and this is not legal advice.
| On the page | Why it is a risk | What we build by default |
|---|---|---|
| 'Pain-free implants', 'gentle dentistry', 'sleep through your treatment' | Sets up an outcome no practitioner can promise every patient | A description of the procedure, the sedation options and who provides them |
| Before-and-after smile gallery | Misleads when lighting, angle or editing differ, or results look guaranteed | Off by default; switched on after the practice reviews it against Ahpra guidance, with matching photo conditions |
| Google review carousel showing comments about treatment | Clinical comments republished on your own site count as testimonials | Service-only comments, or a link out to your Google profile (Ahpra testimonial tool) |
| 'Orthodontist' or 'specialist' for a general dentist who offers aligners | Orthodontics is one of 13 dental specialties with its own specialist registration (Dental Board) | 'General dentist who provides clear aligner treatment'; specialist titles only for practitioners with specialist registration |
| 'Free consult', 'no-gap check-up' or a new-patient special | An inducement breaches s133 unless its terms and conditions are stated (ADA) | Offer and terms shown together, never the headline alone |
| '$0 gap' with a health fund used as a hook | Can read as an inducement under s133 unless its terms are stated | Preferred-provider status as a plain fact, no discount language |
| Injectables or other higher-risk cosmetic procedures | Stricter advertising rules have applied since 2 Sep 2025 | Details of who performs the procedure (check the guideline's wording), real images without misleading editing, a 'results may vary' warning, no influencer testimonials, nothing aimed at under-18s (Ahpra) |
Unsure about a phrase on your site now? Paste it to us on WhatsApp and we will suggest a safer version. You or your adviser make the final call.

Online booking from D4W, Praktika, Core Practice, Exact or HotDoc on your website
Your website can take bookings straight into the practice software you already run, either through that software's own booking module or a third-party service synced to it. Whatever route your system offers (a link, a widget or an embed), we put it behind Book Now on every page and confirm it in your account before quoting.
Questions to ask your vendor
- Is there a hosted booking URL for each location?
- Can the booking page sit inside an iframe on our site?
- Can a link open straight on the new-patient appointment type?
- Is there a confirmation page or event we can track without passing treatment details?
New and existing patients need different appointment types
A new patient needs a longer first visit and an intake form; a returning patient may only want a recall. We confirm which types go online and which stay phone-only, such as emergencies.
Tracking bookings without sending health data to ad platforms
Record a completed booking as one event, without the treatment name or starting page. The privacy section lists the pages where ad pixels stay off.
| System | Made by | Online booking as published | How it can reach your site | Check in your account |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dental4Windows (D4W) | Centaur Software | eAppointments module (Dental4Web is Centaur's cloud product) | Not verified: ask Centaur whether it is a link, widget or embed | eAppointments switched on? New-patient appointment types set up? |
| Praktika | Praktika, Burwood East VIC | Online booking with a public example; online forms, SMS, HICAPS integration; HotDoc, HealthEngine and MyHealth1st integrations | Confirm in your account | Online form links, SMS reminders |
| Core Practice | Core Practice | Patient-portal booking that updates the calendar in real time (SelectHub, secondary) | Confirm on Core Practice's site | Portal address per location |
| Exact or Dentally | Henry Schein One | HealthEngine partnership announced 2020; products covered not verified (HealthEngine) | Through HealthEngine, where covered | Ask both vendors whether yours is included |
| HotDoc, HealthEngine, MyHealth1st | Third-party booking services | Marketplace plus a booking widget or link | Per vendor | Listing fees, branding, bookable appointment types |
The tap-count test: search your practice on your phone and count every tap until a booking is confirmed. Send your booking link on WhatsApp and, as part of the free dental site check, we send back your count plus the taps we would remove.

Fee guides, health funds, HICAPS and CDBS: the pages patients search before they call
A dental website should list fee ranges and the funds you work with, as information rather than a deal. Many patients look for a price list before they ring.
A fee guide that informs rather than induces
Publish ranges for common items, such as a check-up and clean or a crown, with what moves each price. Avoid anything that reads as a discount hook, like a struck-through price or a 'this month only' banner.
HICAPS and paying on the day
Tell patients they can claim their fund benefit at the counter on the day, that they should bring their health fund card, and that a gap may still be left to pay. Give an example of what the gap depends on, never a promised amount.
Preferred-provider funds stated as fact
Name the funds you are a preferred provider for as a plain statement, without deal language, and update the list when an agreement changes.
A CDBS page with the 2026 cap
Under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, a child whose two-year period starts in 2026 can receive up to $1,158 in benefits across two consecutive calendar years; the figure is $1,132 if the period began in 2025 (ADA). The period begins at the first eligible service, and money left over carries into the second year while the child stays eligible (Services Australia). Say how you bill CDBS services, and send parents to the Department of Health to check eligibility.
DVA and emergency pages
List the DVA cards you accept. The emergency page puts tap-to-call first, then what counts as an emergency, your same-day policy and after-hours steps.

Smile photos, x-rays and medical histories: privacy on a dental website
A dental practice must follow the Privacy Act 1988 whatever its size: the Act reaches any business that delivers a health service and keeps health records, so the $3 million small-business exemption is no shelter (OAIC). Health information counts as sensitive information. Rules common to every clinic are on our allied health clinics page; the dental cases follow.
| What the site collects | Why it is sensitive | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Smile-assessment photo uploads | A face and teeth identify the person and show their condition | Secure upload or your practice software's own forms, stored encrypted, never an email attachment |
| X-ray or referral uploads | Clinical records that belong in the patient file | Passed to the practice software or a secure store; staff get a notification with no content |
| New-patient medical-history forms | Medications, conditions and allergies | Your software's intake forms where they exist, otherwise a secure form; never plain-text email |
| Anxiety or sedation enquiries | Asking about sedation reveals something about health | Ad pixels off sedation, anxiety and implant pages; the form asks only for contact details and a time |
| Staging and test data | Real records on a test site are a breach risk | Dummy patients only during the build |
APP 8, stated plainly. We are an offshore team in India. A practice that discloses personal information to an overseas recipient generally remains accountable if that recipient mishandles it (OAIC APP 8 guidelines). A website build never needs live patient data. If we host a portal or intake forms for you, who can reach that data and its hosting region are set out in the contract before signing; that work is custom software, quoted on its own.

Designing for nervous, older and phone-first patients: WCAG 2.2 AA and measured speed
A dental site should meet WCAG 2.2 AA and load fast on a phone with the booking widget running, because many patients arrive anxious, older or on a mobile connection.
WCAG 2.2 AA as the target
The W3C published WCAG 2.2 as a final Recommendation in October 2023 (W3C). In Australia the legal background is the Disability Discrimination Act 1992; we build to WCAG 2.2 AA, with readable text, strong contrast on the booking button, large tap targets, and the booking path tested by keyboard and screen reader.
Plain-language treatment pages and a first-visit page
Each clinical term explained once, and what the patient feels at each step. A 'What happens at your first visit' page covers arrival, paperwork, the examination and timing, with photos of your real rooms.
Core Web Vitals measured, not promised
Measured on staging with your booking widget installed, since a third-party widget is often the heaviest thing on the page. You see the numbers before launch; we don't promise a score.

Dental groups with two or more practices
A dental group needs one Google Business Profile and one location page for every practice that has its own address, staff and hours, each with its own booking link.
One Google Business Profile per real location
Each profile links to its own location page. Suburbs without a practice get neither.
Booking, hours and people per location
Each location page opens that practice's diary, shows its hours and lists who works there on which days.
Dentist schema for each location
Every location page carries its own schema.org Dentist markup with address, phone, hours and booking link. It describes the practice to Google but does not control what Google displays.
What nobody can promise
Some agencies advertise appointment counts from past clients. No developer, us included, can guarantee rankings, bookings or new-patient numbers. What we can show is the page structure, the booking path and the measured speed.

Dental website prices in Australia, compared line by line
A dental website costs roughly $3,000 to $15,000 at Australian agencies that publish prices, and A$900–A$6,900 excl. GST with us. We cost less mainly because we run from Lucknow, not because the page list is shorter. For the average cost of any website in Australia, see our website development page.

Our clock starts after copywriting and your own Ahpra review, so allow extra time for those.
What goes into a dental website quote, each line named:
- Treatment pages: listed by name; price moves with count and depth.
- Booking integration: per system; a link-out is quickest.
- Gallery and review compliance pass: effort follows the number of cases.
- Copywriting: you write it, or we draft from your notes, priced by page.
- Professional photography: not included; you book a photographer near you.
- Extra location pages: per location, each with booking link, hours and schema.
- Old-site migration and redirects: set by how many existing pages must keep their search traffic.
First year, from our bands only: A custom build at A$1,200–A$6,900 plus twelve months of hosting and support at A$80–A$240 comes to A$2,160–A$9,780; on WordPress, A$1,860–A$7,180. Domain and software fees go to those providers. Other kinds of site: website cost calculator. Search work after launch: SEO and Google Ads.

Hiring a dental web team in India: what is true, and how to check it
A dental web design company in India can be a sound choice if you check it as you would anyone. Straight answers about Codingclave Development LLP, founded in Lucknow in 2017 by Ashish Sharma, who still leads every project:
| Concern | What is true | How you can check |
|---|---|---|
| An offshore team | Our whole team sits in Lucknow, India; you reach us by WhatsApp, email or video call. No Australian office, staff, phone line or ABN | Our record: 200+ projects since 2017, ★ 4.9 on Google (76 reviews), Top Rated on Upwork, founder-led delivery. Our reviews |
| Time zones | Mon–Sat, 3:30pm–12:30am AEDT, 2:30pm–11:30pm in Queensland, 12:30pm–9:30pm in Perth: 1.5 to 4.5 hours of your day. Calls after your last patient leaves, progress by morning | Exact hours: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth |
| Quality | No Australian dental site to show yet, so we prove the work on yours: a private staging site you tap through on your phone, with Core Web Vitals and WCAG results measured before launch. Our clinic software demo was built for another market | Run the tap-count test on staging yourself |
| Who owns what | The .com.au is registered in the practice's name with its ABN; the code repository, CMS admin, Google Business Profile and analytics are the practice's. Clean handover if you leave, no lock-in | Check the registrar record and repository owner at handover |
| Payment safety | Payment method and milestone split are confirmed in writing for your practice before you sign | Look up our Top Rated Upwork profile |
| Support after launch | Covered by the hosting and support band; reply times and the bug-fix period go into the same written terms | Read the support terms in your quote |
| Patient data | Builds use dummy patients; for anything we host, data access and hosting region are written into the contract | The privacy section above |
When another studio is the better choice: if you want the designer at the surgery during your fit-out, or a photographer and copywriter with your team in one visit, pick a dental studio in your own city. How we work with Australian businesses is on our Australia page.
