Overview

The fee is in print: from A$990 a month, month-to-month, and Google bills the clicks to your card, not ours. None of the nine Geelong Google Ads provider pages we read on 7 October 2026 printed a management fee. We are a remote team in Lucknow, India, so changes go in during your evening and are live when you open.

Quick answer

What will a Google Ads agency charge a Geelong business each month?

Usually you find out only after a sales call, because the Geelong providers we compared keep the figure off their pages. Ours is A$990–A$9,800 a month, plus the clicks you pay Google directly. A managed account tends to make sense once you spend about A$2,000–A$3,000 a month with Google and one job is worth a few hundred dollars. Below roughly A$1,000 of spend, we'll tell you to run it yourself. Where your account sits in the band is set out in writing before you sign.

  • Two bills: our fee, and clicks billed by Google
  • Clicks are charged to your own card
  • No one can promise leads, and we don't
  • Under about A$1,000 of spend, run it yourself
  • WhatsApp your postcodes and budget for a yes or no

What you get each month, and who runs your Geelong account

The monthly work is the same whether the manager sits in Grovedale or Lucknow: reading every search term that spent money, adding negatives, testing one ad change at a time, flagging a landing page that stops converting, and a plain-English report on spend, enquiries by call, form and WhatsApp tap, and what gets tested next. The reasoning is in our national monthly-work notes.

  • Who runs your account

Codingclave Development LLP was founded in 2017 by Ashish Sharma, and delivery is founder-led. Codingclave is not a Google Partner or Premier Partner and holds no Google badge. The proof we can show, ★ 4.9 on Google (76 reviews), 200+ projects since 2017 and Top Rated on Upwork, is general rather than Google Ads-specific, so test us with the free account review below before you pay anything.

  • Why trust a remote team with your ad budget?

You don't have to take our word for it.

    • You keep Admin access and the card, and can remove us under Admin, then Access and security, at any time.
    • Every edit we make shows in your change history.
    • Already running ads? Share read-only access and we'll send, free and in writing, last month's search terms that spent money without bringing an enquiry.

What Geelong Google Ads providers print about fees, spend and terms (checked 7 Oct 2026)

How we checked. On 7 October 2026 we searched "google ads agency geelong" and close variants on Google's Australian results, opened each provider page from the map pack and organic listings, and added AIAD's Geelong page from a further search. Nine loaded; Carter Media's didn't. Three give an ad-spend guide, two mention lock-in, and all nine steer you to a consultation, audit, chat or form first. National fee norms and GST on clicks sit on our Google Ads management page.

"Not published" means not on that page; any of these providers may quote privately, and some will quote well. Who is actually in Geelong: office addresses, and why ours is in India

Three of the nine pages give a Geelong street address or say the team is based in Geelong; a fourth shows only a postcode. AIAD's page says "We are not managing your account from interstate"; its nearest listed office is Collingwood, in Melbourne. Uppercut, based in NSW, says outright that it has no Geelong office.

  • Why we’re not in the Geelong map results

Google says map results rest mainly on relevance, distance and prominence (Business Profile Help). Distance runs from the searcher to the business, so a team in Lucknow can't place there, and we won't rent a virtual Geelong address to pretend otherwise. GOOP and Owendenny held two of those spots on 7 October 2026.

  • Your Business Profile still feeds your ads

Location assets, the address, call button and hours under a search ad, come from a Business Profile linked to the ads account (Google Ads Help). You stay the profile's owner and add the ads account's email as a manager; the link is made under Tools, Shared library, Location Manager. Reviews and the map pack are organic work, covered on SEO in Geelong.

Is your Geelong ad budget big enough to pay anyone a fee?

Three of the pages print a spend guide: at least A$1,000 a month (Made Great), A$1,000–A$2,000 for most small and medium Geelong businesses (Pixeld) and A$2,000–A$3,000 for most Melbourne businesses (Owendenny). None says what management adds, so none shows how much of your total buys clicks. The table runs that sum for our A$990 entry fee, and Google's daily-budget rules explain why the monthly figure is what to plan around.

Our rule of thumb: the fee should fall to about a third of spend or less, unless one job is worth a great deal. The sums show when a fee has a fair chance; they don't turn a budget into enquiries.

  • A worked month for a Grovedale plumber (our example, not a client result)

A plumber in Grovedale (3216) wants A$3,000 of clicks a month, so sets about A$99 a day (A$3,000 divided by 30.4, Google's monthly multiple). With our A$990 entry fee the month's cash out is about A$3,990, before GST on the clicks, which our national page works through. After a full month the test is whether jobs won from those calls covered the A$990; if the phone rings out at 4pm, no fee level fixes that.

  • A$10 a day, or a one-off setup

A$10 a day tops out at A$304 of clicks a month before GST: enough to learn which searches exist for your trade, not enough to carry a A$990 fee. Run it yourself, or ask about a one-off setup with tracking tested, then keep the weekly routine going; any quote is confirmed in writing for your business before you sign.

Targeting Geelong suburbs and postcodes in Google Ads, council by council

Google Ads can target postcodes, a radius of 1 km or more around an address, or whole regions, and exclude places you don't serve (Google Ads Help). Around Geelong the trap is council lines: Torquay belongs to Surf Coast Shire, Queenscliff has its own borough council and Bannockburn sits in Golden Plains, so a "City of Greater Geelong" list misses them. Enter postcodes with the state (3228 Victoria).

  • Why a Belmont electrician switches to Presence

Out of the box, Google also serves ads to people who have merely shown interest in the places you pick, so a Melbourne renter browsing Geelong suburbs can use up a Belmont electrician's budget. Presence keeps ads to people in, or regularly in, your postcodes (Google Ads Help). A Queenscliff guesthouse runs the other way: it wants the Melbourne family planning Easter, so it keeps the interest setting.

  • Excluding Melbourne overflow

A wide radius from Lara or Corio reaches Werribee and the rest of Wyndham. If you don't take jobs there, exclude Werribee (3030) and its neighbours; a Melbourne business that skips Geelong does the reverse (see Google Ads in Melbourne).

  • Radius for tradies working from a depot

For a plumber with a Corio yard, a radius around the depot matches how the vans travel, but a circle from the north side runs across Corio Bay towards Wyndham, so trim it with exclusions. Google notes that a very small radius or location may show ads intermittently or not at all (Google Ads Help), so a lone postcode such as 3225 usually needs a neighbour.

Geelong’s biggest employers and industries, and the campaign each one needs

Behind the construction jobs sit many small firms: the ABS counted 4,837 construction businesses in Greater Geelong in June 2025, more than any other industry (ABS business counts). So the set-ups above assume one van, one phone and a short postcode list.

Summer on the Bellarine and Surf Coast: pacing ad budgets for peak population

On its busiest night in 2023, Geelong and the Bellarine held an estimated 402,690 people, by the council's peak overnight population estimate, against 295,052 Greater Geelong residents in June 2025 (ABS): about 36% higher, though the two are different estimates and years. Surf Coast Shire peaked at 95,070, with 45,970 in Torquay, Jan Juc, Bells Beach and Bellbrae. A budget sized for June can hit its cap by lunchtime in January.

  • Lift budgets before the peak, not during it

Our example, not a client result: a Torquay holiday rental runs A$40 a day through spring and A$70 a day in January, which caps that month near A$2,128 of clicks before GST under Google's 30.4 multiple. Start the lift when January bookings start; last year's booking dates in your own system show when.

  • Long weekends and event dates

Long weekends and school holidays lift coastal demand for days at a time. Automated rules can raise the budget on the Friday and drop it on the Tuesday, and every change shows in the change history.

  • Ad schedule for a café versus a stay

A Drysdale or Ocean Grove café is chosen close to the moment someone is hungry, so its ads run in opening hours, with call assets only while someone can answer. A stay is booked ahead by people not yet on the coast, so its schedule keeps evenings and weekends. After a month, your hour-of-day figures show whether those guesses hold.

Taking over Google Ads from another Geelong agency, and leaving us later

Of the nine Geelong pages we read, two mention leaving: Kloeber offers no lock-in with four weeks' notice, and AIAD says no lock-in. The other seven say nothing about terms, so ask, and get the end date in writing.

The bigger risk is losing the account's history. Search terms, negatives and conversion data travel with you only if the account is in your name. Ask for these before giving notice.

What to ask your current provider before you switch
ItemWhy it mattersAsk for
Account customer ID and who holds AdminHistory moves with you only if the account is yoursAdmin access added to your own email
Payments profileThe card on file should be yours, not the agency'sGoogle's invoice in your business name

Leaving us works the same way. Remove our manager link under Admin, then Access and security, and nothing stays behind: the account, conversions, audiences, Tag Manager container and ad copy sat in your name from day one.

Send a screenshot of your account's access page: we'll tell you in writing what you own and what's at risk in a switch.

Google Ads freelancer, Geelong agency or a remote team: who suits your business

Some Geelong owners search for a Google Ads freelancer, others for an agency or consultant. If you have wondered which agency Google itself uses: it doesn't assign one to small businesses, and what its Partner badges measure is explained in our national vetting notes.

  • When a Geelong office matters

Choose a provider with a Geelong street address if you want to meet across a table each month, or if procurement asks for a Google Partner badge; GOOP and Owendenny both list a Geelong street address and say they are Google Partners. If neither matters, the account works the same from anywhere. A senior freelancer, the model Kloeber describes, suits one campaign and an owner who wants one name to call; ask who covers holidays.

  • How our hours land in Geelong

We work 10am to 7pm India time, Monday to Saturday: 3:30pm to 12:30am in Geelong while daylight saving runs, a 1.5-hour overlap with a 9 to 5 day, then 2:30 to 11:30pm once clocks go back on 4 April 2027, a 2.5-hour overlap (time zones). Calls fit the overlap; search-term and bid changes go in during your evening and are live when you open. Call assets ring your phone, never ours. Message any time; those are the hours we're at our desks.

How it works

From a WhatsApp message to live Geelong ads, in five steps

Start on WhatsApp
  1. Postcodes, trade and budget

On WhatsApp: the postcodes or suburbs you serve, what you do, and what you'd give Google each month.

  2. A written yes or no

Whether that budget can carry a fee, plus our figure for your account. If not, what to do instead.

  3. Your account, our manager access

You open or keep the Google Ads account and add us as a manager. Admin stays with you, and so does the card.

  4. Tracking test-fired first

Calls, forms and WhatsApp clicks each fire on a test enquiry, with screenshots, before any spend.

  5. Launch, then a monthly call

Ads go live on presence-only postcode targeting. A monthly call follows at 3:30–5:00pm Geelong time (2:30–5:00pm from 5 April 2027).

Ask Ashish directly

Ask on WhatsApp

How much should I pay someone to manage my Google Ads in Geelong?

Ask every provider for a written figure, because the Geelong pages we compared keep fees off the page. Ours is A$990 to A$9,800 a month, with your figure set in writing before you sign. A fair test for any quote: the fee should fall to about a third of ad spend or less. On A$3,000 of spend our entry fee is 33%; on A$1,000 it is 99%.

How much should a Geelong business spend on Google Ads each month?

Three providers listed for Geelong print a guide: at least A$1,000 a month (Made Great), A$1,000 to A$2,000 (Pixeld) and A$2,000 to A$3,000 for most Melbourne businesses (Owendenny). Our view: below about A$1,000 of clicks, run it yourself or pay for a one-off setup; from around A$3,000, a managed account usually pays its way. Coastal businesses need more in summer than winter.

Google Ads freelancer or agency: which suits a Geelong small business, and do I need one with a Geelong office?

An office doesn't change how the account runs: campaigns, targeting and reports live inside your Google Ads account wherever the manager sits. A freelancer suits one campaign and an owner who wants one name to call; an agency suits several campaigns and holiday cover. Choose a Geelong office if face-to-face meetings matter. We work from Lucknow, India, over WhatsApp, email and video calls, with calls in the mid-afternoon overlap.

What does a Google Ads specialist do each month, and is one worth paying for?

Reading every search term that cost money and blocking the irrelevant ones, testing ad copy one change at a time, checking calls and forms still record as conversions, adjusting budgets for the season and reporting what changed. A specialist earns the fee once spend is large enough for those fixes to save more than they cost, roughly A$2,000 to A$3,000 a month and up. Below that, a one-off review and doing it yourself is better value.

Can Google Ads target specific Geelong suburbs or postcodes?

Yes. You can enter postcodes such as 3217 for Armstrong Creek or 3226 for Ocean Grove, draw a radius of at least 1 km around your address, or combine both, and exclude areas you don't serve. Pick the Presence setting so ads reach people physically in those places rather than people who have only read about them. Torquay (3228) is in Surf Coast Shire, not Greater Geelong, so a council-based list can miss it.

Is Google Ads worth it for tradies in Geelong?

It can be, when a won job is worth a lot next to the cost of winning it. With our A$990 entry fee plus clicks, a tradie usually needs jobs worth several hundred dollars and a phone answered while ads run. Call-focused campaigns on the suburbs you work, scheduled for the hours you pick up, waste least. No provider, Codingclave included, can guarantee leads, so judge it on cost per enquiry after the first full month.

How long does it take Google Ads to start working for a Geelong business?

Clicks can start the day your ads are approved. Judging cost per enquiry takes longer: the first few weeks go on reading search terms, adding negatives and fixing tracking gaps that only show with real traffic. Be wary of anyone promising a date for results. Coastal businesses should compare like with like; a January week says little about July.

If I leave my Geelong Google Ads agency, who keeps the account and is there a lock-in?

On 7 October 2026 only Kloeber (four weeks' notice) and AIAD mentioned no lock-in, so ask the rest. Before giving notice, check that your own email holds Admin, the payments profile charges your card, and you own the Tag Manager container and any call-tracking numbers. If all four are yours, history and conversion data move with you. Our terms are month-to-month, set out in writing.
