Quick answer

How much does a website cost in Bendigo in 2026?

In October 2026, published Bendigo-market website prices started at 'from $399 all incl.' for a first-year bundle, and most Bendigo studios printed no price on the page that ranks. Bendigo Web Design's offer covers the site plus 12 months of domain and hosting; what year two costs isn't shown. DigitalOn, a Sunshine Coast firm with a Bendigo page, charges $2,990 for 5 pages, $3,990 for 10 and $4,990 for 20, all including GST, and $4,990–$7,990 for an online store. Between Bark's $960 floor for a small-business site and DigitalOn's $2,990 for five pages, our reading puts a 5-page brochure site with stock images and your own words at about $1,000–$3,000. Our WordPress band is A$900–A$4,300, fixed in writing for your page list.

  • Published floor: from $399 for year one
  • Our reading: about $1,000–$3,000 for 5 pages
  • Online stores: $4,990–$7,990 incl. GST
  • Month 13: domain, hosting and support renew
  • Ask every quote: incl. or plus GST?
  • Most ranking studio pages show no price

Website design Bendigo price list: who publishes a figure (checked 6 Oct 2026)

Ten providers show up when a Bendigo owner searches for a web designer; here is what each one prints, as of 6 October 2026, plus DigitalOn's Bendigo page. Bark blocked our fetch, so its figures come from Google's snippet that day.

Why Bark's average won't set your budget. Bark puts Bendigo at 'around $800' against a $1,000 national figure, yet its own 5–10-page range is $960–$4,800 and e-commerce runs from $3,200 to $28,000 or more. Google shows Bark's Bendigo listing as '$500–$2,000 (avg $1,000)', a different band again from the one on its own page. An average blending one-page landing pages with full shops says little about your job, so plan from the published tiers above. National figures live in our Australia-wide website cost guide.

What A$900–A$4,300 gets a Bendigo business with us

One table row doesn't say much, so here is what sits behind our WordPress band:

  • One fixed AUD figure for the page list you send, in writing before any work starts.
  • A WordPress site you edit yourself, so prices, opening hours and menus change without a support ticket.
  • A staging link you check on your own phone before anything goes live.
  • Your .com.au registered under your ABN and hosting in your business's account, with admin logins handed over; when the code and IP pass to you is written into the quote.
  • No compulsory monthly fee: an optional care plan at A$80–A$240 a month, or host it yourself.

The month-13 bill: what each Bendigo option costs once year one ends

Every website has two prices: the build, and what renews a year later. Bendigo Web Design's from-$399 bundle includes 12 months of domain and hosting, but its page gives no renewal price, and DigitalOn lists maintenance on a separate page from its build tiers.

  • Four questions before you take any bundle

    1. What will I pay from month 13, and can that figure rise later?
    2. How many pages are included, and how many edits a year before extra charges start?
    3. Who registers the .com.au, and is it in my business name?
    4. Do I get my own login to the hosting account, or only to the website editor?
  • The ownership checklist

    • Your .com.au. auDA lets an applicant hold a .com.au only with an Australian presence, such as an ABN or ACN (or an ARBN or Australian trade mark), and the name must connect to the business. Register it under your ABN, in a registrar account you log into.
    • Hosting. Your own login, so the site can move if you change supplier.
    • CMS admin. Full administrator rights in WordPress or Shopify, not an editor account.
    • Google Business Profile. You as owner, with any designer added as a manager you can remove.
  • What hosting costs in Australia

Shared hosting runs about A$11–A$18.50 a month and a .com.au about A$23 a year at regular prices (VentraIP, per our national cost guide), so a self-managed brochure site's year-two floor is roughly A$155–A$245 before anyone does edits.

Bendigo’s economy, turned into website decisions

Is a website still worth paying for in 2026? For a Bendigo business, the local numbers say yes, and each one points to a specific change on the site.

  • About 9,055 businesses: lead with service and suburb

Invest Loddon Mallee, citing ABS data for 2024, counts about 9,055 businesses in Greater Bendigo. With that many firms in one city, the first screen should name the service and the suburb ('Plumber, Strathfieldsaye and Kangaroo Flat') before any slogan.

  • Manufacturing leads output at $4.3 billion

Greater Bendigo's gross regional product is $10.95 billion (REMPLAN 2025), and manufacturing contributes the most economic output: $4.3 billion, or 18.42% (REMPLAN 2026). Procurement buyers want capability pages naming machines, materials and certifications you hold. Put spec sheets on the page as HTML text, not only PDFs, and add an RFQ form that accepts drawings. A quoting tool with pricing rules behind it is a custom software job.

Send your capability list on WhatsApp for an RFQ-site quote.

  • Health care is the biggest employer

Health care and social assistance is Greater Bendigo's largest employing industry (Jobs and Skills Australia 2026), and Bendigo Health alone reported 5,456 staff in 2024–25. Allied health and NDIS sites need a page per practitioner, booking that works one-handed on a phone, and services described in plain English. See allied health clinic websites and NDIS provider websites.

  • A UNESCO City of Gastronomy: menus as text

In 2019 Bendigo became Australia's first UNESCO Creative City and Region of Gastronomy. For a café, winery or restaurant, that means a menu on the page as text rather than a PDF, opening hours kept current, and the booking link on the first screen. More on café and restaurant websites.

  • 126,000 residents and a rail link to Melbourne

Greater Bendigo has about 126,000 residents (ABS 2025) and is projected to grow about 1.4% a year (Invest Loddon Mallee, citing ABS). It sits about 150 km from Melbourne, with 24 daily passenger services to Melbourne on the Bendigo and Echuca lines. A builder working the newer estates should give each suburb where they've finished real jobs its own page; see tradie websites.

Five rules a Bendigo homepage has to pass

People ask Google for the 'five golden rules' of a website. There's no official list, but these are the five checks we hold every Bendigo homepage to, each testable on your own phone:

5 questions to ask

  1. What you do, where, and how to reach you, on the first screen. 'Electrician, Eaglehawk and Bendigo CBD', a tap-to-call number and a quote button, visible without scrolling.
  2. Quick on a phone over a regional mobile signal. Test on mobile data, away from Wi-Fi; compressed images and no autoplay video on the homepage help most.
  3. Suburb and town names in the page text. In headings and copy, not only inside photos or a map, so search engines can read them.
  4. Real reviews, linked to your Google Business Profile. Quote genuine customers and link back so visitors can check.
  5. One clear path to a quote or booking. Every page ends with the next step, and no form leads to a dead end.

We use all five as acceptance checks on the staging link before launch. Already have a site? Send its link with your page list on WhatsApp.

Kangaroo Flat to Echuca: which places deserve their own page

Bendigo customers search by place as often as by service. The region falls into three groups:

  • Inner Bendigo: Bendigo CBD, Quarry Hill, Flora Hill, Golden Square, Long Gully, White Hills, Ascot.
  • Outer suburbs and growth areas: Strathfieldsaye, Epsom, Huntly, Maiden Gully, Marong, Junortoun, Kennington, Spring Gully, Kangaroo Flat, Eaglehawk.
  • Towns: Castlemaine, Kyneton, Heathcote, Echuca, Inglewood, Elmore.
  • The three-proofs rule

A place earns its own page once you can show three things there: completed jobs, your own photos of them, and reviews from customers in that area. Without them, a page that swaps one suburb name for another is a doorway page, the thin near-copy that search engines discount. Start with the two or three places sending the most work.

  • Echuca is a separate market

Echuca sits in Campaspe Shire, not Greater Bendigo, and people search 'web design Echuca' on its own. If you trade on the Murray as well, give Echuca a dedicated page with its own jobs and reviews. Castlemaine and Kyneton work the same way when you travel there often.

Trading toward Ballarat or Geelong too? See Ballarat and Geelong.

SEO in Bendigo: three jobs, and no guarantees

Local search work for a Bendigo business comes down to three habits:

  1. A Google Business Profile you own and keep current, with hours, photos and service areas.
  2. One page per service and per place you genuinely serve, following the three-proofs rule above.
  3. A review request after every satisfied job, so the profile keeps collecting fresh, genuine feedback.

Nobody can guarantee rankings or leads, us included. Nor can we put you in the Bendigo map pack: it draws on your own Business Profile and address, and we have no Bendigo address or profile. What we build is the groundwork behind those three habits. More on SEO services.

When we’re online in Bendigo time, and what that means for your week

We're online from 3:30pm to 12:30am Bendigo time, Monday to Saturday, while Victoria is on daylight saving (AEDT, UTC+11, 4 October 2026 to 4 April 2027). Once clocks return to AEST (UTC+10), that shifts to 2:30pm to 11:30pm. That overlaps a 9-to-5 day by an hour and a half now, and by two and a half hours from April.

What that means for a Bendigo owner:

  • After you close, Monday to Saturday: WhatsApp Ashish, the founder, once the shop shuts or the last client leaves; the team is still at work.
  • Late afternoon: a video call between 3:30pm and 5pm (2:30pm and 5pm from April) if you'd rather talk during your own day.
  • Next morning: progress from your evening shows on the staging link when you open it.
  • What we can't do: a 9am phone call, or someone at your counter.

A Bendigo studio, a Melbourne agency or a remote team: an honest guide

A Bendigo business has three realistic routes, and for some jobs a studio in town is the right one.

  • Choose a Bendigo studio when

you want to meet face to face, need someone on site to photograph your premises or products, prefer a Bendigo invoice with GST shown, or the job is brand-led from logo to signage. Thrive Web Design has operated since 2005, Matt Angel has worked as a web professional since 2008, The KH Studio was established in 2017, and Creative Revolution sits at the premium end of the prices above.

  • Choose a Melbourne agency when

the website is one piece of a larger multi-channel campaign with a budget to match. Is Bendigo cheaper than Melbourne? Not by much for a small site: our Melbourne page records Melbourne brochure sites at A$1,000–A$3,000 (Quazic), the same band a 5-page Bendigo site lands in from the list above. The gap opens on bigger, agency-led jobs.

  • Choose us when

you want a fixed AUD price before anything starts, the site live in 1–2 weeks on WordPress or 1–3 weeks as a custom build, and the founder on WhatsApp after you close. It also suits an owner whose last bundle kept the domain or logins out of reach, because ownership terms go into our quote.

  • The usual worries about an overseas team

    • Where we are, said plainly. Codingclave Development LLP was founded in Lucknow, India, in 2017 by Ashish Sharma, who still leads delivery. We have no Australian office, staff, phone number or ABN.
    • Track record. ★ 4.9 on Google (76 reviews), 200+ projects since 2017, Top Rated on Upwork; see the reviews and past work.
    • Ownership. Domain, hosting, CMS admin and Business Profile stay with your business; the code and IP pass to you too, with the timing written into the quote.

10of 10

Comparing Bendigo quotes like for like: the GST line

The priced options above use three bases. DigitalOn prints its figures including GST, Creative Revolution adds GST on top, and Bendigo Web Design doesn't say. A $3,000 quote including GST and a $3,000 quote plus GST end up $300 apart, so put every quote on the same basis before comparing.

Our quotes carry no Australian GST because we are an overseas supplier not registered for it. If your business is GST-registered, the ATO says business-to-business services from a non-resident supplier are generally not connected with Australia, and the reverse charge applies only when the purchase isn't wholly for a creditable purpose. Ask your accountant how that applies to you.

How much should I pay a website designer in Bendigo?

Prices published for the Bendigo market on 6 October 2026 start at Bendigo Web Design's 'from $399 all incl.' first-year bundle, and DigitalOn's GST-inclusive tiers begin at $2,990 for five pages. Reading across those figures, a 5-page brochure site with stock photos and your own words costs about $1,000–$3,000. Our WordPress band is A$900–A$4,300 and a custom build A$1,200–A$6,900. WhatsApp your page list to +91 92771 84741 for one fixed AUD figure.

Is web design cheaper in Bendigo than in Melbourne?

Not by much for a small site. Quazic puts a Melbourne brochure site at A$1,000–A$3,000, the same band a 5-page Bendigo site lands in on the published list here. Across Australia, agencies typically charge A$3,000–A$10,000 for a 5–10 page site (WP Creative, in our national guide), and the Melbourne gap opens on larger, agency-led jobs.

What does a from-$399 Bendigo website include, and what does it cost after year one?

Bendigo Web Design's 'from $399 all incl.' offer covers the site, a complimentary 12 months of domain name and hosting, and ongoing support. Its page doesn't show the month-13 price, the page or edit limits, or whether GST is included. Before signing, ask for the renewal figure in writing, how many pages and edits are included, who registers the .com.au, and whether you get your own hosting login.

How much does it cost to host a website in Australia?

For a brochure site, shared hosting runs about A$11–A$18.50 a month and a .com.au about A$23 a year at regular prices (VentraIP, as listed in our national cost guide). That puts a self-managed site's yearly floor at roughly A$155–A$245 before anyone makes edits. Our optional care plan, which adds updates, backups and small edits, is A$80–A$240 a month.

Do Bendigo web design prices include GST?

It depends on the studio. DigitalOn's Bendigo tiers include GST, Creative Revolution adds GST on top, and Bendigo Web Design's offer doesn't say, so convert every quote to the same basis first. Our quotes carry no Australian GST because we are an overseas supplier not registered for it; a GST-registered buyer should ask an accountant whether the reverse charge applies. How and when you pay is confirmed in writing for your business before you sign.

How long does it take to build a website for a Bendigo business?

DigitalOn shows a first working version in 1–3 weeks, and Bark's Bendigo page puts simple sites at 2–3 weeks and most small-business sites at 4–8 weeks. Ours take 1–2 weeks on WordPress and 1–3 weeks for a custom build, counted from when your words and photos are ready. Online stores take 2–6 weeks, mostly depending on how many products need loading.

How much does SEO cost in Bendigo, and can anyone guarantee page one?

Nobody can honestly guarantee page one, a map-pack spot or a set number of leads, and we don't. Our SEO and Google Ads retainer runs A$990–A$9,800 a month, with any ad budget paid by you directly to Google. We also can't place you in the Bendigo map pack, which depends on your own Google Business Profile and address.

If I stop paying my Bendigo web designer, who keeps the domain and site?

Whoever the accounts are registered to. auDA lets an applicant hold a .com.au only with an Australian presence, such as an ABN or ACN (or an ARBN or Australian trade mark), so register the domain under your ABN in a registrar account you control. Keep the hosting login, full CMS admin rights and owner access to your Google Business Profile as well, and changing provider later stays straightforward.
