Overview

Codingclave Development LLP is one: founder-led by Ashish Sharma and delivered remotely from Lucknow, with no office, phone line or legal entity in Canada. You agree the scope, then pay one CAD price in three instalments by local bank transfer, and talk to us live on weekday mornings, Eastern time. Below is what your province requires of your website or app, how to test what any developer tells you, and when to hire someone else.

Quick answer

Who is Codingclave, and does a team in India suit a Canadian business?

Codingclave Development LLP is an Indian firm led by its founder, Ashish Sharma, with 200+ projects worldwide since 2017; every project is delivered remotely from Lucknow. It suits a Canadian business that wants a fixed price in CAD, is happy with written updates plus live calls between 8am and 12pm Eastern, and wants its domain, hosting and code held in its own name. It's the wrong fit when the work, the supplier or the contract has to be Canadian; the last section lists those cases.

  • Paid in three instalments against milestones you can see
  • Code and IP pass to you on final payment (fixed-scope builds)
  • Free bug fixes for 6 months after launch
  • 24/7 response for emergencies on live sites and apps

What ‘remote from Lucknow’ means for a Canadian project

Searched for a developer in Calgary or Mississauga and landed here? Codingclave has no address in Canada; your project is delivered from Lucknow, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. (A software house is simply a firm that builds software for clients; "agency" and "development company" mean the same here.)

  • How the work runs

Progress comes in writing on WhatsApp or by email, and decisions get a live call on a weekday morning, Eastern time (your zone). A live site or app that goes down gets a 24/7 emergency response. You pay in CAD or USD by local bank transfer; the invoice itself comes from the Indian LLP, so ask for a sample and put it in front of your accountant before you sign.

  • What you won’t get

No office visit, no Maps pin in your city and nobody on site to set up a router or a till. You sign with an Indian firm. If any of that is a must, see when to hire someone else.

  • What doesn’t move

Sales tax, privacy, accessibility and Quebec's French rules attach to your business, not to the person writing the code, so an agency down the street changes none of them. The province table shows which reach you.

Province by province: the rules that stay with your business

Ontario charges 13% HST; Nova Scotia 14%; New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island 15%. Alberta and the three territories charge only the 5% GST. British Columbia (PST 7%), Manitoba (RST 7%), Saskatchewan (PST 6%) and Quebec (QST 9.975%) add a provincial tax to the 5% GST. How our own invoices are treated is for the tax note on this page and your accountant.

Rules for a private business in each province or territory, read 16 Oct 2026 (CRA, Privacy Commissioner, Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba); the Quebec French rule rests on legal commentary. A dash means we found no province-wide rule of that kind. Federally regulated businesses should also check the Accessible Canada Act. Not legal advice.

Before real customer data reaches any offshore developer

Most builds don't need real customer records until launch week, so settle what the developer may see before work starts. The PIPEDA and app-store side is on our Flutter hiring page; this covers what it leaves out.

  • Staging first, production later

Hand over a staging copy filled with test or anonymized records. Open production access only for a task that needs it, and log who used it.

  • Alberta

When a service provider outside Canada handles personal information, your policies must name the countries and the purposes. Before or when the data is collected or transferred, people must be told how to get that information and who answers their questions (Government of Alberta).

  • Quebec

The privacy impact assessment required by the private-sector Act (P-39.1) comes before the developer receives any database export, not after it.

  • Health records in ON, NB, NS and NL

PHIPA, PHIPAA, PHIA and the contracts built on them may restrict storage or access outside the province or the country. Ask counsel before any record leaves your systems.

  • What we can do on our side

We can build and test on dummy records, inside the access you grant; the ESMED membership platform and Dr. Akash Dubey's booking portal, both ours, hold member and patient details. Whether a build satisfies a privacy law is for your counsel to judge.

Call times after BC, Alberta and Manitoba stop changing their clocks

On 1 November 2026, Ontario and Quebec, the Maritimes, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nunavut fall back an hour as usual. Most of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories don't: they keep the time they are on now, for good (IANA time zone database). Saskatchewan never changed, and Yukon stopped in 2020.

So our Eastern-morning window lands an hour later on western clocks this winter than it did this summer, and an hour earlier again once Eastern clocks spring forward on 14 March 2027. The table works it out for your zone and today's date.

Our live-call window, 8am to 12pm Eastern on weekdays, in each Canadian time zone and in India, before and after the November clock change.

The small figure is how many hours of a 9am–5pm local working day the window covers. Times are worked out from the IANA time-zone database when this page was built. Written replies come within 2 hours, and there is a 24/7 response for emergencies on live sites and apps.

In British Columbia, the window falls first thing in your day, and earlier still from 14 March 2027. Keep routine progress in writing and save live calls for decisions: scope, design sign-off, launch.

In Saskatchewan, nothing moves on your side; the window shifts only because Eastern clocks do.

How to test what any developer tells you

Anyone can call itself a software company in your city. Seven checks sort out who is where and who owns what; our answer follows each.

  • 1. Does the claimed office match the Maps listing?

Open the listing and the street view. Ours sits in Lucknow, as the Google profile shows.

  • 2. Where do the developers actually sit?

A phone number with a local area code says nothing about where the code is written. Ours is delivered from Lucknow; ask us to name who will work on your project.

  • 3. Who hosts the reviews?

A quote pasted onto a firm's own website proves little. Read ours where they were posted: the Google profile above and our Upwork profile. None of them is presented as Canadian.

  • 4. Whose name is on the domain, hosting, repository and store accounts?

Yours, from the first day. Open them in your business name and invite the developer in.

  • 5. When does the IP transfer, and what do you hold if you stop early?

Ours transfers on final payment. Get the early-exit terms into the written scope.

  • 6. Is the price in CAD, and does it include tax?

A USD figure moves with the exchange rate. Ours is in CAD and excludes GST/HST.

  • 7. What does support after launch cover, and for how long?

Ours: bugs fixed free for 6 months, plus a 24/7 response for emergencies on live sites and apps.

Put the same seven to us when you ask for a quote.

How to read Clutch, GoodFirms and Techreviewer lists

Search for the top software development companies in Canada and Google answers mostly with directories. They are a fair start if you read them with care. Techreviewer's Canada list, 284 firms when we read it on 16 October 2026, shows why.

  • Sponsored places

Two listings carried a SPONSOR label: a Denver firm and a Cyprus firm, both under the Canada filter. A paid position isn't a ranking, and a country filter isn't a location check.

  • Which dollar

About half the 260 firms in its rate study list $20–49 an hour (28.0% at $20–29, 25.2% at $30–49), shown as '$' with no currency code and no date. Ask whether a band is USD before comparing.

  • Recent reviews

Check how the directory confirms a reviewer worked with the firm, then sort by newest. A firm whose last review is from 2022 may not have the same developers now.

We don't rank ourselves. Put the seven checks above to any firm on a directory list.

When you should hire someone else

A clear no at the start saves both sides a quote that was never going to work. Our Flutter page covers on-site work, security clearance and SR&ED funding. Here are the other cases where any remote team in India is the wrong pick.

  • Your procurement requires a Canadian supplier

Some buyers, funders and tenders need a vendor of record registered in Canada. We can't be that supplier.

  • You need to be able to sue at home

If the contract must be enforceable against a company in a Canadian court, hire a Canadian firm.

  • Your project has to run in French

Our French versions go through a fluent French reviewer. If discovery, meetings and support must also happen in French every day, hire a team that works in French.

  • Discovery needs people in the room

Workshops on a shop floor or in a clinic often work better in person. We run discovery on video; if that won't do, choose someone who can visit.

  • Your counsel says the data stays in Canada

If health-custodian records must not leave the province or the country, a team abroad is ruled out, however the access is set up.

  • Your BC team wants to pair all day

Daily screen-sharing through your working hours is hard to arrange from India, and hardest for British Columbia, where our window opens first thing in the morning.

  • The edit is too small to scope

Swapping a photo or a footer address isn't worth a written scope. A freelancer paid by the hour, or your site builder's own editor, is the better buy.

How it works

Your side of the work, before any developer starts

Send the job first; the quote will flag which of the other four steps apply to you.

Start on WhatsApp
  1. Send the job and your province

Through the quote page or on WhatsApp. Say which rows of the province table apply, and the reply can deal with them from the start.

  2. Open the accounts in your business name

Domain, hosting, a GitHub organization and the payment account your customers pay into; for an app, the Apple and Google developer accounts too. You invite the developer in and never hand the accounts over.

  3. Update your privacy notice

Say that a service provider outside Canada may handle personal information. Alberta and Quebec add steps of their own (see above).

  4. Pick an accessibility target

WCAG 2.0 AA is the AODA level for Ontario organizations with 50 or more employees, and 2.1 AA is Manitoba's, so 2.1 AA meets both. WCAG 2.2 AA, the current W3C version, is the safest target for a new build.

  5. Tell us if you sell to Quebec

Say so before the build starts. French copy is part of what we deliver, checked by a fluent French reviewer, and your counsel confirms what Quebec's language rules ask of you.

Common questions about hiring us from Canada

Can’t see yours? Ask on WhatsApp and get a straight answer, not a sales script. Replies come within 2 hours.

Founder-led by Ashish Sharma

Ask on WhatsApp

Which privacy law covers my business: PIPEDA or a provincial law?

PIPEDA, unless your business is in Alberta, British Columbia or Quebec. Those three have private-sector laws the federal government treats as substantially similar: Alberta's and BC's PIPA, and Quebec's private-sector privacy Act. Even there, PIPEDA still governs personal information that crosses a provincial or national border. Health information custodians in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador follow their own provincial health-privacy law (PHIPA, PHIPAA or PHIA). The Office of the Privacy Commissioner keeps the list.

Can a developer in India work with my customers' personal data?

Yes, but you stay accountable for it wherever the developer sits, so keep real records out of development; test or anonymized data covers most builds. Plan for a breach as well. In Alberta, if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to even one person, your organization must notify the Information and Privacy Commissioner, who may require you to tell the people affected. That duty is yours, so agree in writing how fast a developer must report an incident to you.

Is British Columbia changing its clocks in November 2026?

No. Most of British Columbia stays on UTC−7 from now on, Alberta and the Northwest Territories on UTC−6 and Manitoba on UTC−5, so none of them falls back on 1 November 2026. Ontario and Quebec, the Maritimes, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nunavut still change their clocks; Saskatchewan and Yukon don't. From 1 November 2026 to 14 March 2027, Vancouver sits two hours behind Toronto instead of three, and Calgary one hour instead of two.

Should a Canadian business hire a team in India, a freelancer or a Canadian firm?

Decide by the risk you can carry, not the hourly figure. A Canadian firm suits procurement that needs a Canadian supplier, contracts you may need to enforce at home, and in-person workshops. A freelancer suits a small, defined job, as long as you accept that the work stops if they do. A remote team in India suits a scoped build at a fixed CAD price, if you hold the accounts in your own name and can work with morning calls and written updates.

Where can I check Codingclave's reviews before I get in touch?

On our Google profile, listed in Lucknow: 4.9 on Google from 92 reviews. And on our Upwork profile, where we are Top Rated with a 100% Job Success Score. Separately, we have delivered 200+ projects worldwide since 2017. We don't present any review as Canadian. Read the most recent ones first, and judge us on the six named projects on this page.

Does a website accessibility law apply to my business outside Ontario?

In Manitoba, yes, once you have one employee there: new web content, content people need to reach your goods and services, and new or significantly updated web apps must meet WCAG 2.1 AA, and you must provide information in an accessible format on request. Elsewhere, our 16 October 2026 check found no province-wide website rule for private businesses. Federally regulated businesses should check the Accessible Canada Act, and building to WCAG 2.2 AA keeps you ahead of rules still being written.

How we put this page together

Researched and drafted with AI assistance on 16 October 2026; Ashish Sharma reviews and approves it before it goes live. Tax rates, privacy laws, Ontario's and Manitoba's accessibility rules, the 2026 clock changes and Techreviewer's list were read that day on the pages listed below; the Quebec privacy Act was checked for a sibling page, and Quebec's French-language rule rests on legal commentary, so confirm it with counsel.
