Overview
The two Darwin-area studios that print prices start at $2,250+GST (Sam's Websites) and $2,400 ex-GST (Webb & Flow in Palmerston, on a 2023 sheet). We build remotely from Lucknow, India, with no Territory office, and we're online 2pm–11pm ACST all year, so a brief can wait until the day's work is done.

Quick answer
How much do Darwin web designers charge in 2026?
On 6 Oct 2026, Sam's Websites printed $2,250 for one page, $4,250 for a multi-page site and from $7,500 for a platform build, each +GST, so $2,475, $4,675 and $8,250 once GST is paid. Webb & Flow's 2023 Squarespace sheet shows $2,400 and $4,000 ex-GST ($2,640 and $4,400 with GST). SiteCentre puts a typical Darwin job at $7,500–$10,000 without stating GST. Codingclave adds no GST at all: WordPress A$900–A$4,300, business site A$1,200–A$6,900, online store A$2,400–A$19,500, set as one written number after scoping. A sole trader who can't claim GST credits pays the GST-inclusive figure.
- Codingclave: WordPress A$900–A$4,300, no GST added
- Sam's Websites (Darwin CBD): $2,250 / $4,250 / from $7,500, +GST
- Webb & Flow (Palmerston): $2,400 or $4,000 ex-GST, 2023 sheet
- SiteCentre (Currimundi QLD): typically $7,500–$10,000
- Sam's $0-upfront plans: $199–$379 a month + GST, 24-month minimum

What we build for Darwin businesses

Web design Darwin prices as each provider prints them, with GST shown (checked 6 Oct 2026)
Most web design companies in Darwin want a call before naming a number. Sam's Websites in the CBD and Webb & Flow in Palmerston City print theirs, and SiteCentre, an interstate agency, adds a Darwin range. Each figure is copied as published, then shown with GST so the rows compare like for like.
| Provider (based in) | Builds on | Price as printed | With GST | Timeline printed | Read before comparing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sam's Websites (Darwin CBD) | Custom builds | Launch $2,250+GST (one page); Growth $4,250+GST (multi-page); Platform from $7,500+GST; or $199/$299/$379 a month + GST on a 24-month minimum | $2,475 / $4,675 / from $8,250; plans $218.90–$416.90 a month | 7–10 business days | Hosting $79/mo + GST; updates billed per request |
| Webb & Flow (Palmerston City) | Squarespace | The Stylo $2,400 (up to 4 pages); The Atas $4,000 (up to 12); The Shop +$500 (10 products); ex-GST | $2,640 / $4,400 / +$550 | About 4 weeks / about 6 weeks / +2 weeks | 2023 sheet; content must be final before a build date is booked |
| SiteCentre (Currimundi QLD) | Custom | $7,500 to $12,000+, typically $7,500–$10,000 | GST not stated | Up to 6–8 weeks | Interstate agency's Darwin page |
| whatsthedamage.com.au (cost guide, not a builder) | — | Landing page $800–3,000; small business $2,000–6,000; custom $6,000–15,000; integrated $15,000–40,000; e-commerce $5,000–60,000+ | GST not stated | — | 'Last verified October 2026'; calls its bands national |
| Quote only: Web365 (Darwin), Illume Marketing (Darwin), By Ash (Palmerston), Simple Pages (Hervey Bay QLD), Digital Nomads HQ (Mooloolaba QLD), Marketing Sweet (North Adelaide SA) | Various | No price published | — | Digital Nomads HQ 'as early as' 6 weeks; others not stated | Locations as listed on their own sites |
| Codingclave (Lucknow, India; remote) | WordPress, Next.js, Laravel, Shopify, WooCommerce | WordPress A$900–A$4,300; business site A$1,200–A$6,900; store A$2,400–A$19,500 | Same figure: no GST is added | 1–2 / 1–3 / 2–6 weeks | One written AUD figure; where you sit in each band is set in the quote |
Ask any provider for the price, build time and handover list in writing. A twelfth page, 21 Webs' Darwin page, refused connections all day on 6 Oct 2026, so it has no row.

Working with Codingclave from Darwin: proof, payment and the 2pm–11pm ACST window
Paying a studio in India is the obvious worry, so here is what to check first. Codingclave Development LLP is a Lucknow studio founded in 2017 by Ashish Sharma, who prices each Darwin job and stays on it through launch. There is no Codingclave office, employee, phone line or ABN in Australia; contact is by WhatsApp, email or video call.
Proof you can read first
★ 4.9 on Google from 76 reviews (read them), 200+ projects since 2017 and past builds to click through. Book a video call with Ashish before deciding anything.
Money held by a third party, if you prefer
Payment stages are written into your quote. If you'd rather an outside platform held the funds, the same job can run as an Upwork contract, where we hold Top Rated status and each milestone's payment sits with Upwork until you approve the work.
A window that never moves
Our Monday-to-Saturday day, 10:00–19:00 IST, lands at 2pm–11pm in Darwin and Alice Springs. Neither the Territory nor India changes its clocks, so the 2pm–5pm overlap with a 9–5 day holds every week of the year, and changes made during our day are usually waiting on staging when you check over breakfast, before the heat builds. Adelaide shares Central time but loses an hour of that overlap from 4 Oct 2026 to 4 Apr 2027; see our Adelaide page.
When a Darwin studio is the better pick
If you want a CBD studio you can ring on a Darwin mobile, a site live in 7–10 business days and nothing upfront, Sam's Websites is set up for exactly that. If you want Squarespace and face-to-face help in Palmerston, Webb & Flow fits. We suit owners after a WordPress or custom build at one figure with no GST added; see Codingclave in Australia.

$0 upfront at $199 a month, or buy outright: the 24-month sum for a Darwin site
Sam's Websites lets you skip the upfront fee: $199, $299 or $379 a month + GST, with 24 months as the minimum term. The fair comparison is the same package bought once and kept on Sam's own $79-a-month Hosting & Maintenance, or on its $149 Google & AI Visibility tier, which Sam's describes as hosting plus visibility work. Figures from Sam's pricing page, checked 6 Oct 2026.
| Package | Plan: 24 payments | Buy outright + 24 months of the matching tier | Gap over 24 months | Month 25 onwards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch (one page) | $199 × 24 = $4,776 | $2,250 + 24 × $79 = $4,146 | Plan costs $630 more | Hosting & Maintenance $79/mo |
| Growth (multi-page) | $299 × 24 = $7,176 | $4,250 + 24 × $79 = $6,146 | Plan costs $1,030 more | Hosting & Maintenance $79/mo |
| Growth + Visibility | $379 × 24 = $9,096 | $4,250 + 24 × $149 = $7,826 | Plan costs $1,270 more | Google & AI Visibility $149/mo |
From month 25 both routes cost the same, so the gap is the full price of spreading the payment. Paying $120 a month above hosting for 24 months instead of $2,250 upfront works like borrowing at about 25% a year on Launch; Growth comes out near 22%, and Growth + Visibility near 26% (our arithmetic, payments at month end).
Five things to settle before a 24-month minimum:
- Whose name is on the .com.au? auDA licenses one only to a holder with an Australian Presence, so the holder should be your business, wherever the hosting sits.
- What does leaving in month 9 cost? Ask in writing whether the remaining months fall due.
- Do you own the design after month 24, or only while you keep paying?
- What does an update cost? Sam's $79 tier says 'Updates are billable per request', so get the rate before comparing totals, especially if your hours change through the wet.
- What does month 25 cost? $79 or $149 a month + GST, depending on the plan.
The plan buys a lower start, which some owners will gladly pay for; compare totals, not the monthly figure. For scale, a Codingclave WordPress build is A$900–A$4,300 with no GST added, with optional hosting-support from A$80 a month.
Been offered a monthly plan? Send it over on WhatsApp and we'll run the same sum on it.

Defence and NT Government suppliers: a site sized to the work you bid for
At the 2021 Census, Defence employed 4.7% of Greater Darwin's workers against 0.7% nationally, and State Government Administration 7.9% against 1.4%. Robertson Barracks, Larrakeyah Barracks, RAAF Base Darwin and HMAS Coonawarra sit around Darwin and Palmerston, and RAAF Base Tindal near Katherine draws its own supply chain. The right site depends on where you sit in that chain.
Sole-trader subcontractor
One capability page and a one-page PDF a head contractor can forward: your trade, the licences you actually hold, your plant, and the bases or suburbs you can reach. Usually the WordPress band, A$900–A$4,300.
Supplier quoting primes or NT Government agencies directly
A page per capability, project references with scope and year (clients named only with their consent), a downloadable statement you can swap yourself before each bid, a procurement contact with a direct email, and your business's ABN in the footer. Usually the business-site band, A$1,200–A$6,900.
A typical Winnellie scope
Picture an industrial supplier in Winnellie whose buyers include contractors at RAAF Base Darwin. Its site needs a product-range page, a delivery note covering Berrimah, Palmerston and Robertson Barracks, and a quote form that takes part numbers: a business-site job, not a custom portal.
List only the registrations and clearances your business really holds.
Bidding for Territory or Defence work? Send your capability statement on WhatsApp and we'll scope the site around it.

October to April, and one bar of signal on the Stuart Highway
The Bureau of Meteorology tracks a northern wet season from October to April, and the official cyclone season runs from 1 November to 30 April. Signal is the other constraint: in 2024–25, 11% of Australian businesses used satellite connectivity, up from 5% in 2021–22.
Road and access wording you change in a minute
A short field the owner edits from a phone and the site shows on every page: 'Stuart Highway cut south of Katherine, deliveries resume Thursday' or 'Arnhem Highway open, yard hours back to normal'.
Order forms that keep a draft when the link drops
A store manager in Arnhem Land or a station hand on satellite can lose the connection halfway through a stock order. The form keeps what was typed and sends it once the signal returns.
Tour pages that switch with the season
When dry-season departures stop, the booking button turns into an enquiry form that collects names for next year. See accommodation and tour sites.
Run tours or a yard that shuts in the wet? WhatsApp us and the phone-edited notice bar goes into your quote.

The .com.au belongs to your business: platform fees and the year-two bill
None of the Darwin builders' pages we checked says in writing who holds the domain, the hosting account and the files once the build is paid for. The whatsthedamage guide does tell owners to keep all three in their own name.
The domain
auDA rule 2.4.1 requires a .com.au holder to have an Australian Presence, so the licence belongs to your business, not the builder. Sam's FAQ says its hosting plan covers 'domain management (if hosted with us)', so ask what happens to the domain if you move the site.
Platform fees
Webb & Flow's 2023 sheet recommends Squarespace Personal, Business or Basic Commerce; Squarespace's pricing page now lists Basic, Core, Plus and Advanced. Ask who pays the platform, the domain and the hosting from year two.
What year two costs
Our Australian website cost guide covers typical running costs. Our hosting-support is A$80–A$240 a month with no GST added, or host the site anywhere you like.
Code, files and terms
The quote lists what you receive at handover: code, images and admin logins. Any minimum term for hosting-support, and the payment split, are confirmed in writing for your business before you sign.

Before you budget: NT grant status and who gets your ‘free quote’ form
A grant that has closed and an enquiry form that sells your number are two ways a Territory website budget goes wrong.
The NT Business Growth Program shows as closed
On 6 Oct 2026, business.gov.au listed the NT Business Growth Program as 'Closed'. It reimbursed 50% of eligible costs, from $2,000 to $10,000, for work by an approved service provider, yet some Darwin studios still lead with it. Ring 1800 193 111 before counting on any successor program. We aren't an NT-approved provider, so this is a status check, not grant advice.
Where a ‘free quote’ form sends your number
The Darwin cost guide that ranks for price searches offers one agency every Darwin web design lead from that guide for $500 a month, so once the slot is taken, its callback form is set up to pass your number to that one paying provider. A WhatsApp brief or our contact form reaches Ashish, who writes the quote.

12,414 businesses across Darwin, Palmerston and Litchfield: which website each needs
The ABS business register for June 2025 counts firms by council area. Around Darwin most are owner-run or trades, which sets how much site each needs.
Sole traders and owner-drivers
Of the City of Darwin's 8,119 businesses, 4,974 employ nobody; in transport it's 927 of 1,027. A WordPress site with a quote form and tap-to-call is usually enough, at A$900–A$4,300 with no GST added.
Builders and trades across the three councils
Construction leads all three councils, with 2,295 businesses in total. A trade site needs a page per service, the suburbs you genuinely work in, from Winnellie and Berrimah to Howard Springs and Humpty Doo, and a quote request that takes photos. See tradie websites.
Property and rentals
The City of Darwin has 1,098 rental, hiring and real estate businesses. Listings should flow from the agency's existing system, not be typed twice. See real estate agency sites.
Clinics and NDIS providers
There are 753 health care and social assistance businesses in the City of Darwin. The Privacy Act exempts most firms turning over A$3 million or less, but never a health service provider, so intake forms must be private by design. See NDIS provider websites and clinic websites.
| Council area | Businesses | Largest groups | Site most of them need |
|---|---|---|---|
| City of Darwin | 8,119 (61% non-employing) | Construction 1,179; rental, hiring & real estate 1,098; professional services 1,045; transport 1,027; health care 753 | Quote-form site, listings, private intake |
| Palmerston | 2,129 | Construction 478 | Service-area trade site |
| Litchfield | 2,166 | Construction 638; agriculture 256 | Trade or farm-gate site that works on weak signal |
Together the three councils hold 12,414 businesses, about 74% of the NT businesses the ABS places in a council area. The Territory reached 17,440 at June 2026, up 3.8%. The City of Darwin's 429 accommodation and food businesses have their own guide: restaurant, café and takeaway sites.

Want the new site to show up in Google Maps too?
A new site doesn't put you in the map results on its own; that runs through your Google Business Profile, and two of its rules matter in the Territory. A virtual office isn't an eligible address, and a service area should sit within about two hours' drive of your base, so a Humpty Doo or Palmerston trade can cover greater Darwin while a Katherine firm describes its own region. Add a suburb page only where you have jobs to show: Berrimah, Australia's second-fastest-growing area in 2024–25 (+22.5%), may earn one. For printed monthly prices and the rest of the profile rules, see what SEO agencies in Darwin charge, and what a month of work should cover.
Pricing in AUD
Website design and development prices for Darwin businesses, in AUD
Three things decide where a Darwin job lands in its band: how many pages (3 or 15), who writes them, and whether the site links to outside systems such as bookings, job software or property listings. No words or photos yet? Say so in the brief, and the quote shows how that changes the figure. More detail on online stores, and on custom software for portals.
