What Brisbane WordPress developers charge: published prices side by side

Eight providers come up first when you search Google for a WordPress developer in Brisbane: Lamb Agency, WP Creative, Next Tab, DeeperLook, iSonic, Five by Five, Dotsquares and Pixel Palace. Two of those eight print a build price, Next Tab on its WordPress page and WP Creative on a separate pricing page. Help4Bis, a Brisbane provider outside that group, publishes its monthly fees, so it has a row as well. Read the GST column closely: an ex-GST figure and one with no tax wording can end up 10% apart on the invoice.

Pixel Palace still turns up in Google's results, but its own site says it no longer operates. Within our bands, page count, page builder versus block theme, and the systems a store connects to set the figure.

Waiting on a grant? Business Queensland's Business Basics grant paid A$7,500 ex GST and counted website build and upgrades, but it has closed. The grants schedule, updated 24 Sep 2026, lists no open round, and Business Boost Round 4 finished on 31 Aug 2026. Don't park the project for one.

Ask for your figure. Send three answers and your site address on WhatsApp. A likely band comes back first, then one fixed written figure after a review.

Taking over or fixing a WordPress site another Brisbane agency built

Plenty of Brisbane owners don't want a new site. They want someone to look after the one they have, now that the original builder has moved on or stopped answering email. We check what is installed, whose account holds each licence and what breaks on update, then set one fixed price inside our bands before work starts.

  • Inheriting an Elementor, Divi, WPBakery or YOOtheme Pro build

iSonic says it builds on YOOtheme Pro and Five by Five on Elementor. A paid builder needs a current licence for updates and stores pages in its own format, so we first find whose account holds it, then move it to your business or rebuild on WordPress blocks. A redesign is a sensible moment to switch.

  • Leaving a subscription or managed plan

Some plans charge to move your site and keep premium plugin licences on their own account. Before giving notice, get a full export, the exit fee in writing and a list of paid plugins you must buy.

  • Moving from Wix or Squarespace

Text and images transfer; layouts, forms and booking or shop features are rebuilt, and every old address redirects so Google visitors still land correctly.

Site broken, hacked or stuck with an old agency? Send the URL on WhatsApp and Ashish replies with what looks wrong and a fixed price for the repair. Seeing spam redirects or admin users nobody created? Tell us it has been hacked, then read the recovery steps on our national page.

WooCommerce developer Brisbane: new stores, repairs and checkout set-up

A WooCommerce store sits in our A$2,400–A$19,500 band and usually takes 2–6 weeks once products, photos and policies are ready. A short catalogue with one payment method and flat-rate postage lands near the bottom; hundreds of variations, synced stock or subscriptions push it up. Next Tab, the Logan agency that publishes WooCommerce prices, names Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay, Zip and Australia Post among its integrations. The gateways and shipping services your store will use, and any plugin fees, are listed in your written scope rather than assumed.

  • New stores

Products loaded from your spreadsheet, shipping zones matching how you charge (Brisbane metro, regional Queensland, interstate), and test orders on staging before opening.

  • Repairs to an existing shop

Checkout errors after an update, postage charged to the wrong zone, drifting stock counts and slow product search, each fixed on staging and checked with test orders first.

WordPress maintenance, support and hosting in Brisbane: what a month costs

A live WordPress site needs core and plugin updates, backups kept away from the server, and a person to contact when an enquiry form goes quiet. Published Brisbane and Sydney prices for that work start at A$49 a month and run past A$2,000.

A calculation, not a quote: Help4Bis's managed plan comes to about A$2,500–A$2,600 ex GST in year one, depending on whether its A$300 is read as month one (managed page) or a set-up fee (homepage).

Does the server need to be in Brisbane? Rarely. AWS has Australian regions in Sydney (ap-southeast-2) and Melbourne (ap-southeast-4) but none in Brisbane (AWS regions), and DigitalOcean's only Australian data centre is SYD1 (DigitalOcean). A Brisbane server is the exception. Ask instead:

  1. Which city is the server in?
  2. Whose name is on the hosting account?
  3. Where are backups stored, off the server?
  4. What does leaving cost?

When Codingclave hosts a site, the region goes into the written scope. The PHP 8.2 deadline and a care checklist are on our national WordPress page.

Whose clock do support hours follow? From 4 Oct 2026 to 4 Apr 2027 a support window set on Sydney time opens and closes an hour earlier in Brisbane, so ask which clock a provider uses. Ours starts at 2:30pm AEST: a checkout that breaks at 9am is looked at from 2:30pm that day, Monday to Saturday. Monitoring and reply times are written into your scope; if an outage can't wait until afternoon, you need around-the-clock cover.

Want a monthly figure? Send your URL for a care quote.

Licences in your name: a pre-signing check for any Brisbane WordPress provider

Leaving a provider cleanly depends on licences as much as on files. Help4Bis, for example, states that its Elementor Pro, WPForms Pro and RankMath Pro licences stay on its corporate account when a client goes, and estimates about A$300–A$400 a year to buy your own. Put these checks to any provider before you sign.

Licences to have in your business's name before launch
LicenceWhere it goes wrongWhat to ask for
Premium themeBought on the developer's account, so updates stop when you part waysThe key registered to your business email
Page builder (Elementor Pro, Divi, YOOtheme Pro)One agency licence covers every client siteA licence in your name, or a costed move to WordPress blocks
Forms plugin (WPForms Pro)Licence lapses, or enquiries go only to the old providerYour own licence and your address on every notification
SEO plugin premium (RankMath Pro)Redirects and settings sit under someone else's licenceYour own licence and an export of redirects
Backup service and storageCopies live only in the provider's storageBackups in an account you hold, with one test restore
Paid WooCommerce extensionsSubscription, booking or shipping add-ons bought on the developer's loginEach extension moved to your WooCommerce account
Security or firewall pluginPremium rules expire with the provider's licenceYour own licence, or the free option named in the scope

Domains, hosting accounts and copyright in custom code are covered on our Brisbane website page. On our jobs, licences and accounts are created under your business at step four of the process below, before any building, and the ownership terms sit in the scope.

WordPress for Brisbane’s biggest industries: what each build needs

The ABS counted 145,916 actively trading businesses in Brisbane City at June 2025, and 91,188 of them, 62.5%, had no employees (ABS business counts). For a business with no staff, an entry price of A$10,000 or more is a large outlay, and often the owner is the person editing the site. Here is how the largest industry groups turn into a WordPress brief.

Brisbane City's largest industries (ABS, June 2025) and the WordPress build each usually needs
IndustryBusinessesTypical WordPress buildRead more

Retail trade8,141WooCommerce, or Shopify for less upkeepShopify in Brisbane; ecommerce
Accommodation and food services6,271Menus staff can edit, plus booking and ordering linksRestaurants and cafes

Firms in Fortitude Valley, Newstead, Milton and Spring Hill need clear service pages and a booking link more than a design statement. Venues in South Brisbane, West End and Woolloongabba change menus often, so editing must work from a phone. Practices around Toowong and Indooroopilly depend on practitioner pages; retailers near Chermside, Carindale and Mount Gravatt weigh WooCommerce against Shopify (our comparison); bayside trades in Capalaba and Cleveland live on quote requests.

ABS estimates for 2024–25 put Ripley (Ipswich) and Morayfield (Moreton Bay) up 15% each and Greenbank–North Maclean (Logan) up 14% (ABS regional population), so new businesses near North Lakes, Redcliffe, Springfield, Ripley or Beenleigh often need a first proper website. Editing the site yourself, theme or custom design, and training

Most owners want to change a price, a photo or opening hours without opening a ticket. How easy that is gets decided during the build.

  • Block editor or page builder

The block editor keeps everyday edits simple and adds no licence; a page builder gives layout freedom but more ways to break a page. We usually lock layout, header and footer, and leave text, prices, photos, team profiles and posts open to you.

  • Ready-made theme or custom design

A theme fitted to your content sits in the A$900–A$4,300 WordPress band; a design drawn from scratch falls in the A$1,200–A$6,900 business-site band. See theme, builder or block theme.

  • Training, remote only

Screen-share sessions between 2:30pm and 5pm Brisbane time, editing real pages on your own site, plus a recorded walkthrough. There is no in-person training.

A Brisbane in-house WordPress hire vs a fixed project

SEEK's salary data puts the average web developer salary in Brisbane job ads at A$97,500 (SEEK). Add the 12% super guarantee (ATO) and an employee costs up to about A$109,200 a year if super is added on top (some SEEK figures already include it), before leave cover, equipment, software and recruitment fees.

Compare the top of our WordPress band plus a year of our highest care tier: A$4,300 + 12 × A$240 = A$7,180. That is arithmetic on our bands, not a quote.

A hire makes sense when WordPress fills the week, such as a retailer loading stock daily. A burst of work before launch and a few hours a month afterwards usually costs less as a project. Looking for a WordPress job instead? Our national page's FAQ covers what WordPress developers earn across Australia.

10of 10

Is WordPress still worth it for a Brisbane business in 2026?

For most service, brochure and content sites, yes. On W3Techs figures, roughly two in five websites run WordPress (40.1%), its share rises to 58.6% among sites whose content system can be detected, and about two-thirds of WordPress installs are already on version 7. DeeperLook's Brisbane page still says 33%; W3Techs shows 40.1%. That spread of use matters to you because another developer can pick the site up later.

It is the wrong tool for a portal built around logins and workflows, which belongs with custom software development in Brisbane, and for a product-led shop that wants the platform to carry hosting and updates, where Shopify developers in Brisbane suit better. More in WordPress vs a custom website.

How it works

How a Brisbane WordPress job runs, from first message to launch

Queensland keeps AEST all year (timeanddate), so the gap to Lucknow never shifts. Our Monday-to-Saturday day runs from 2:30pm to 11:30pm on a Brisbane clock; the hours until 5pm go on calls and sign-offs, and the build carries on through your evening. The Gold Coast WordPress page shares this clock.

Start on WhatsApp
  1. Three questions and your site address

New site or fix, WooCommerce or not, a rough budget, and the current site's address if there is one.

  2. Site or brief review

We go through the current site, or your page list, and flag licences, plugins and risks.

  3. One written AUD figure and scope

Work, fixed price and handover terms in writing, approved before any billing.

  4. Licences and accounts set up in your name

Hosting (when you hold it), the WordPress admin and every premium licence are set up under your business before building.

  5. Build on staging

Work happens on a private copy during your afternoon and evening (to 11:30pm AEST, Mon–Sat), with a staging link to check next morning.

  6. Launch, recorded training, care optional

Go-live, a recorded screen-share session, then care at A$80–A$240 a month or a handover of every login.

How much does a WordPress website cost in Brisbane?

When we checked on 6 Oct 2026, Next Tab Agency listed WordPress business sites from A$3,500 and WooCommerce stores from A$5,500, and WP Creative's pricing page started custom sites at A$10,000 and eCommerce stores at A$15,000. Our bands are A$900–A$4,300 for a WordPress site and A$2,400–A$19,500 for WooCommerce, fixed in writing once we have seen the brief. Page count, build method and the systems a store connects to decide where a job lands.

How much does WordPress maintenance cost per month in Brisbane?

Checked 6 Oct 2026: Help4Bis charges A$49 or A$99 a month for care on hosting you hold, or A$200 a month fully managed after a A$300 first month. Nirmal Web Studio in Sydney bills A$110 an hour, or A$2,200 for a 20-hour month, and WP Creative's care plan starts at A$2,500 a month including from 20 development hours. Ours is optional at A$80–A$240 a month for hosting, backups, monitoring and support.

How long does it take to get a WordPress site live in Brisbane?

Next Tab Agency quoted 4–6 weeks for a business site and 6–8 weeks for WooCommerce, counted from approved wireframes, when we checked on 6 Oct 2026. Our estimates are 1–2 weeks for a WordPress site and 2–6 weeks for a WooCommerce store, counted from the day your words, photos and logins arrive. Unwritten service pages and messy product spreadsheets cause most delays.

Can I update my WordPress site myself after launch?

Yes, and it should be planned that way from the start. On our builds the layout, header and footer are usually locked, while text, prices, photos, team profiles and blog posts stay open for you to edit in the block editor or your page builder. A theme-based site sits in our A$900–A$4,300 band (as at 6 Oct 2026).

Can you take over a WordPress site another Brisbane agency built?

Yes. We review it first: WordPress and plugin versions, the page builder (Elementor, Divi, WPBakery or YOOtheme Pro), whose account holds each premium licence and what breaks on update. You then get one fixed price inside our A$900–A$4,300 WordPress band, or A$2,400–A$19,500 for WooCommerce, before work starts (bands as at 6 Oct 2026). If the old provider also hosts the site, ask about any exit fee before giving notice.

Is it safe for a Brisbane business to hire a WordPress developer in India?

It can be, if the paperwork protects you. Nothing is billed until you approve a written scope, and the payment methods and how payments are staged are set out in it. You review the site on a staging link before launch, and the WordPress admin, premium licences and any hosting you hold are in your business's name, so you keep them whatever happens. Codingclave has been founder-led since 2017, with 200+ projects since 2017 and ★ 4.9 on Google (76 reviews), as at 6 Oct 2026.

Do I need my WordPress site hosted in Brisbane, or is Sydney fine?

Sydney is fine for most Brisbane businesses. As of 6 Oct 2026, AWS runs Australian regions in Sydney and Melbourne but none in Brisbane, and DigitalOcean's only Australian data centre is SYD1 in Sydney. What matters more is whose name is on the hosting account, where backups are stored and what leaving costs. If Codingclave hosts your site, the server region is stated in your written scope.

Do you offer WordPress training in Brisbane?

Only remotely. Screen-share sessions run during the 2:30–5pm AEST overlap, which holds all year because Queensland has no daylight saving, and you keep a recorded walkthrough for new staff. There is no in-person training; when we checked on 6 Oct 2026, DeeperLook offered training in your office or by phone.
