Overview
Codingclave prices Gold Coast WordPress sites at A$900–A$4,300 and gives you that as one fixed AUD figure before work begins; WP Creative's custom builds, by comparison, start at $15,000. We're a founder-led team in Lucknow, India, so the work runs over WhatsApp and video, updates and go-lives land in your evening after close of trade, and every login stays in your business's name.

Quick answer
What does a Gold Coast WordPress developer charge for a fix, a takeover or a new build?
On the Gold Coast, a small WordPress fix runs about $110 on Airtasker (the median task), a standard site $3,000–$10,000 by one independent estimate, and WP Creative's custom builds from $15,000. Codingclave quotes A$900–A$4,300, fixed before work starts. In more detail: Airtasker's Gold Coast WordPress tasks average $71–$172; What's the Damage puts a hacked-site rescue at $500–$3,000; WP Creative's care starts at $2,200 a month, while White Peak, Embark and Gold Coast Design Studio print no build price at all. WooCommerce shops sit in our A$2,400–A$19,500 band, and optional care is A$80–A$240 a month.
- Airtasker Gold Coast WordPress task: median $110 (Sept 2026)
- What's the Damage: standard site $3,000–$10,000 (Oct 2026)
- WP Creative: builds from $15,000, care from $2,200 a month
- Codingclave: A$900–A$4,300, about 1–2 weeks once content arrives
- Takeovers: free ownership check, then one fixed AUD quote

Taking a WordPress site back from a Gold Coast agency, freelancer or host
Agencies quote whole builds and Airtasker handles single edits. In between sits a site that runs fine but needs a new person responsible for it. Builder-hosted sites are common on the Coast: Thrive says it looks after around 300 sites on its own servers, so moving one to a new developer is routine work, not a dispute.
The site lives on your agency’s server
Ask the agency for a same-day full backup (files and database) or a migration copy. We restore it on a private staging address, on hosting billed to your card, test every page, form and checkout, then switch DNS after the Coast closes for the day. No visible downtime is the goal, not a promise, since DNS changes take time to spread. Check your agreement for notice periods first.
The freelancer who built it has gone quiet
Start with the domain, because whoever is listed as registrant controls the address and often the email; the .com.au rules are in our Gold Coast domain ownership notes. After that, the hosting login decides how quickly you get back in. The full recovery order is on our Australia-wide takeover checklist.
The site has been hacked or shows a critical error
Spam redirects, a strange admin user or a white 'critical error' screen all start the same way. We copy the site before touching anything, clean it on staging, remove the attacker's logins and plugins, update everything and put the cleaned copy back live. Then we help you change every password and explain, where the logs show it, how they got in. What's the Damage puts a Gold Coast rescue at $500–$3,000; ours is one fixed figure once we've seen the damage. First-hour steps are on our national WordPress page.
An Elementor or Divi build that breaks on every update
A builder site that has skipped a year of updates tends to break when they all land at once. On staging we bring core, the builder and its add-ons forward in order and repair what fails; if the layout fights every release, rebuilding key pages in the block editor may cost less over time. The trade-offs are on our Australia-wide WordPress page.
Premium licences still billed to the old provider
Elementor Pro, ACF Pro, Gravity Forms and paid WooCommerce extensions each sit in a vendor account. If that account is your agency's, updates stop when the agency stops paying, even though the site keeps loading. Ask for a transfer, or buy each licence on your business email and enter the new key.
| Item | Should be registered to | Check it yourself | If it is not in your name |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress Administrator account | Your business email | The Users screen shows your address as Administrator | Ask for an Administrator invite; remove unused accounts |
| Hosting account | Your business, on your card | The invoice comes to you, not the agency | Open your own account; request a migration copy |
| Domain registrant | Your business | Your registrar account or the WHOIS record names your business | Start a registrant change before anything else |
| DNS provider login | You, at Cloudflare or the registrar | You can sign in and see the records | Ask for an invite, or move DNS to your account |
| Premium plugin and theme licences | Your business email | Licence emails (Elementor Pro, ACF Pro, Gravity Forms, WooCommerce extensions) reach you | Transfer each licence, or buy your own and swap the key |
| Off-server backups | Storage you control | You can download a recent full copy | Schedule backups to your own cloud storage |
| Google Search Console and Analytics | Your Google account, as Owner | Each tool's user list shows you as Owner | Ask to be made Owner; remove old users |
Send the site address and who holds each item above, and we'll run the ownership check free and send back a list of what's yours and what to chase. No passwords in the chat: if you go ahead, you create a separate Administrator user for us and delete it later.

Who ranks for “WordPress developer Gold Coast” and what each one prints (checked 6 Oct 2026)
On 6 October 2026 we recorded, for each WordPress provider on Google's first page for this search, the cheapest build it prints, any monthly care price, its stated build time, and who its page says holds the hosting and licences. Not one agency shows a build price on the page that ranks.
| Who (base they state) | Lowest WordPress build it prints | Monthly care it prints | Timeline it prints | Who holds hosting and licences, per its page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WP Creative* (Ultimo, Sydney) | From $15,000 (pricing page, not the Gold Coast page)* | Care from $2,200; plan with 20+ dev hours from $2,500* | Not stated | Not stated |
| White Peak Digital (Varsity Lakes) | Not published ('discussed during consultation') | Care plan unpriced; hourly rate unstated | Not stated | Not stated |
| Embark Agency (Burleigh Heads) | Not published | Not published | 8–16 weeks, custom projects | Not stated |
| Gold Coast Websites (Surfers Paradise, Varsity Lakes) | Not on the ranking page (separate packages page) | Hosting and domain named, no amounts | 2–4 weeks, simple site | Sells hosting; account holder not stated |
| Gold Coast Design Studio (Coomera) | Not published | Maintenance packages, unpriced | 4–6 weeks, small to medium | Not stated |
| Airtasker* (marketplace) | Per task: $71–$172, median $110* | None, per task | Per task | You, with nobody holding anything between tasks |
| In-house hire* (SEEK listing) | $85k–$95k plus super (about $95,200–$106,400 a year)* | n/a | Recruitment time | Your business, through your employee |
| Codingclave (Lucknow, India, remote) | A$900–A$4,300 | Optional A$80–A$240 | 1–2 weeks est. once content arrives | Domain, admin and licences: your business; hosting: yours, or ours under care if your quote says so |
Starred figures come from Google's listings because those pages blocked our reader, so confirm them before budgeting. Prices for every kind of website, not only WordPress, are in our full website design price comparison.

A six-page Robina physio site plus a year of updates: four ways to pay for it
Take a Robina physio practice wanting six pages (home, conditions, practitioner profiles, fees, contact, and a button to the booking system it already pays for), plus monthly core and plugin updates and about six small changes over twelve months. Here is year one on each route, from published figures only.
| Route | Up-front | Next 12 months | Year one | Who answers when an update breaks the booking page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| In-house developer (SEEK band) | Recruitment | $95,200–$106,400 salary plus super | $95,200–$106,400, plus recruitment | Your employee |
| WP Creative | From $15,000 | Care from $2,200 × 12 = $26,400 | From $41,400 | The agency, under its SLA |
| Independent-estimate build plus Airtasker fixes | $3,000–$10,000 (What's the Damage) | About 6 tasks × $110 median = about $660, plus hosting (the guide budgets $100–$500 a month for hosting, licences and care) | About $3,660–$10,660 before hosting | Whoever accepts the next task |
| Codingclave | Within A$900–A$4,300 (exact figure in your quote) | Optional A$960–A$2,880 (A$80–A$240 × 12) | Within A$1,860–A$7,180 | Codingclave under the care plan, or you if you opt out |
Most of the gap between the agency row and ours is care. A one-hour priority SLA earns its price where an outage stops revenue at once; a six-page clinic site whose bookings run elsewhere rarely sits in that group. The marketplace route looks cheap, but nobody owns the site between tasks. A salary rarely pays off either, for a site needing a few weeks of build and a few hours a month after. Check which figures include GST before comparing; ours carries the GST note in the pricing section below.
The WP Creative, Airtasker and SEEK figures came from Google's listings and still need rechecking. The Australia-wide version is in our national hiring routes.

What Gold Coast clinics, builders, retailers and firms need from WordPress
Health care and social assistance is the biggest employer in the Gold Coast employment region, with 64,600 jobs after an 18.5% rise, according to Jobs and Skills Australia's industry profile. The five largest industries, which include construction, retail and professional services, hold 58% of the region's jobs. Tourism and hospitality sites are covered on our Gold Coast city page.
Allied health and NDIS clinics, from the Southport health precinct to Robina
The pages that earn bookings are the practitioner profiles: what each person treats, their qualifications and Ahpra registration, consulting days, and a button that opens Cliniko, Nookal, Halaxy or whichever system the clinic already pays for, on the right practitioner. Ahpra's advertising rules bar testimonials about clinical care for regulated health services, so a review carousel on a physio's home page is out. NDIS providers add service-area and supports pages so a coordinator can decide quickly whether to refer. More on the rules clinic sites follow, NDIS provider websites and a WhatsApp enquiry assistant for after-hours questions.
Builders and trades in Coomera, Ormeau and Nerang
A builder or trade site needs project galleries sorted by job type and suburb, a quote form asking for job size, timing and photos, and the QBCC licence number shown clearly, since Queensland expects it on advertising. Enquiries should reach a phone the owner checks on site, so an Ormeau quote request doesn't wait for the weekend. Licence display rules are on our tradie websites page.
Surf, fashion and lifestyle retail
When a label publishes as much as it sells, with lookbooks and rider stories, WooCommerce keeps content and cart under one WordPress login, so a post links straight to the boardshorts in it. A large, fast-turning catalogue with an owner who wants no plugin upkeep points to our Gold Coast Shopify developers.
Accountants, lawyers and real estate in Bundall, Southport and Broadbeach
A Bundall accounting practice might trade a tax-time checklist download for an email address, with one profile per adviser. A Southport law firm tends to want a page per matter type listing what to bring to a first meeting. Broadbeach real estate offices usually want listings pulled from the feed their agency software already exports. More on real estate agency websites.

WooCommerce on the Gold Coast: clean-ups, rebuilds and platform moves
Small Airtasker jobs run up to a few hundred dollars, according to Google's listing of Airtasker's Gold Coast tasks, while a full agency build is a much larger commitment. Most small-shop WooCommerce work sits between the two. Our band is A$2,400–A$19,500 over an estimated 2–6 weeks once products, photos and policies are ready, with product count, variations and data volume deciding where a shop lands.
Clean-ups for a shop that has grown for years
Typical problems: unused extensions still loading on every page, product search that crawls past a few hundred items, and checkout errors after an update. We copy the shop to staging, remove what nothing depends on, fix the search and run test orders through to the confirmation email before the live store is touched.
Moving to WooCommerce from Shopify or Wix
Gold Coast Websites lists Shopify-to-WooCommerce and Wix-to-WordPress moves on its homepage, so this is common work. Products, customers and orders come across from exports, and every old product address gets a redirect so search results still land. Our Shopify vs WooCommerce vs custom post weighs up the three.
Payments, shipping and GST settings to decide early
The options worth weighing for a Gold Coast shop are Stripe for cards, Square if you also sell from a shopfront or market stall, PayPal, and Afterpay for fashion and surfwear buyers, plus Australia Post, Sendle or flat-rate shipping. WooCommerce also needs to know whether your prices are entered GST-inclusive, so the cart, invoice and tax report agree. Tell us what you use now; the gateway, terminal and shipping set-up for your shop is listed in the quote.

Is WordPress outdated in 2026? The numbers, and when it is the wrong pick
Not on the evidence. W3Techs measured WordPress on 40.1% of all websites on 7 October 2026, and on 58.6% of sites whose content system it could identify. That reach has a practical upside: if you ever part ways with a developer, us included, plenty of people can pick the site up.
Some sites trail badly. Of WordPress sites, 64.7% run version 7, 28.3% version 6, 4.8% version 5 and 2.0% version 4. An agency site still on 5.x gets upgraded on staging before any design change. PHP deadlines are covered on our Australia-wide WordPress page.
WordPress is the wrong pick when:
- the job is really an app (a client portal, staff logins or booking rules no plugin handles), which belongs with custom software on the Gold Coast or our Gold Coast app developers
- the business is a product catalogue and little else, and the owner wants no plugin upkeep, where Shopify may suit better

A WordPress team in Lucknow working on the Gold Coast clock
The person who quotes your job is the person accountable for it: Ashish Sharma, who founded Codingclave in Lucknow, India, in 2017, and whom you deal with over WhatsApp, email and video. There is no Australian office, ABN or local staff. How the hours line up with Queensland is set out on our Gold Coast city page.
For WordPress, the useful part is the evening. Once a Broadbeach café has shut or a Robina clinic's last patient has left, plugins update on staging, the live site is checked, and a summary waits for you next morning. Work runs Monday to Saturday, so a builder can sort the site on a Saturday afternoon. One border wrinkle: from 4 October 2026 to 4 April 2027, Tweed Heads runs an hour ahead of Coolangatta, so a southern Gold Coast business with a NSW-side supplier or host should settle whose clock any agreed window uses.

WordPress maintenance and support after go-live: what Gold Coast providers charge a month
Care prices on page one are either high or missing. WP Creative's Website Care Plan starts at $2,200 a month, with a one-hour response to priority emergencies between 8am and 8pm, and a plan including 20+ development hours starts at $2,500, both per Google's listing of its pricing page. White Peak and Gold Coast Design Studio offer care or maintenance but print no amount. The independent guide What's the Damage budgets $100–$500 a month for hosting, licences and care.
Ours is optional at A$80–A$240 a month, and the quote lists exactly what your site gets: typically hosting, off-server backups, uptime monitoring, updates and small edits such as a new staff photo. Care can run on hosting you already hold or include hosting from us; which one, and whose name the account sits in, is written into the quote. What any care plan should cover is on our national WordPress page.
Be clear about mornings. Our day starts at 2:30pm AEST, so a booking page that fails at 9am waits for us unless your care terms say otherwise. Staging-first updates keep most breakages off the live site, and with hosting and backups in reach of your own login, your host's support can restore a backup in the meantime. If a one-hour morning response is essential, an agency SLA like WP Creative's is the honest fit.
Cancelling care never strands the site: the domain, backups and licences are already yours.
