Overview
Codingclave quotes a new store, a redesign or a move from Neto or WooCommerce as one fixed figure between A$2,400 and A$19,500, written down before anything starts, and the store goes live 2–6 weeks after your content arrives. Store, domain and apps are owned by your business throughout. We're founder-led, work remotely from India across Perth afternoons and evenings (12:30–9:30pm AWST), and say further down when a Perth agency would suit you better.

Quick answer
How much does it cost to hire a Shopify developer in Perth?
Perth agency builds start at $15,000: The Hope Factory lists $15,000–$50,000 for design and build, and a standard Clue build runs $20,000–$40,000. Freelancers charge roughly $50–$250+ an hour, by WP Creative's estimate. Four Perth agencies and Airtasker publish no store-build price at all. Codingclave sets one fixed AUD figure between A$2,400 and A$19,500 before work starts, with the store live 2–6 weeks once content is in. Shopify's own plan is billed on top: Basic costs A$56 a month on monthly billing, ex GST.
- Support from A$80 a month (band A$80–A$240)
- Shopify Plus starts at A$3,700 a month, more than most small Perth stores need
- Price set by products, variants, apps and migration, not by the hour
- One written scope listing every app and test order

What Shopify developers in Perth charge: eight providers’ published prices
Where do you hire a Shopify developer in Perth? Google's first page offers Perth agencies, a Victorian agency with a Perth landing page, a per-task marketplace and Shopify's own directory. We copied each provider's figures as printed; two pages wouldn't load, so those rows rely on Google's snippet.
Three of these pages quote Shopify's monthly fees in figures that don't match what Shopify charges an Australian store, so check Shopify's AUD page before you budget. Pricing a plain website instead? See our Perth website prices.
| Provider (and where its office is) | Lowest store build published | Ongoing help, as priced | Timeline published | Shopify's fees, as the page quotes them | GST basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Hope Factory (Elsternwick VIC; Perth landing page) | Theme customisation $5,000–$15,000; full design and build $15,000–$50,000; Shopify Plus $50,000+ | 10-hour blocks at $1,760 inc GST (5% off quarterly, 10% off monthly) | 4–6 weeks simple; 10–12 weeks custom | Not quoted | Inc GST on support blocks; not stated on builds |
| Clue (South Perth) | eCommerce builds from $15,000; $20,000–$40,000 standard; $40,000–$100,000 custom | Not priced | 8–12 weeks standard; 3–6 months custom | "$29 to $2,000+" a month | Not stated |
| Concise Digital (St Georges Tce, Perth) | Not published | From $30 + GST per amend | Not published | In US dollars: US$29 / US$79 / US$299; Plus from US$2,000 | + GST |

Shopify's Australian pricing page lists Basic at A$56, Grow at A$149 and Advanced at A$575 a month on monthly billing, all ex GST, with Plus from A$3,700. Yearly billing and card rates are on our Shopify development page for Australia.

Do you need a Perth-based Shopify developer?
For most store work, no. A Shopify build, its reviews and its test orders all happen inside the store's admin, so the developer's postcode changes little. What matters is what you can verify.
What Codingclave is, and what it isn’t
We're an Indian firm, founded in 2017, and delivery is founder-led: Ashish Sharma scopes each Shopify job himself. There's no Perth office, no Australian company and no ABN. We aren't a Shopify Partner either, so we're absent from Shopify's directory. Work runs over WhatsApp, email and video calls.
What you can check in place of a street address
Before you pay, a written scope naming every page, app and test order. During the build, an unpublished copy of the theme inside your own store, viewable on your phone. Before launch, test orders that you sign off. Throughout, the store, domain and app accounts belong to your business, and we work through a collaborator account you remove at handover. Track record: ★ 4.9 on Google (76 reviews), Top Rated on Upwork and 200+ projects since 2017. Read the reviews and browse past work.
When a Perth agency is the better pick
Choose one of the agencies in the table above if you want in-person workshops in the CBD, if your brief needs Shopify Plus or a Premier-tier partner, if procurement rules require an Australian supplier with an ABN, or if you'd like a large marketing retainer bundled with the build.
Is Shopify still worth it for a Perth business?
For most WA retailers selling a few hundred products or fewer, yes: local pickup, Perth-only local delivery and multiple stock locations are built in, which covers the usual WA set-up without custom code. The wider case for and against is in our national Shopify FAQ.
Finding ‘Shopify Experts’ in Perth
Experts is Shopify's older name for the firms its Partner Directory now lists as partners. On 6 Oct 2026 the directory showed 249 partners for Australia and no Perth page at all: the Perth location address returned a 404. Concise Digital, rated 4.9 from 33 reviews, was the only Perth partner on page one of the Australia list. How partner tiers work is explained on our national Shopify page.

Shopify builds for five kinds of WA store
WA added 12,248 actively trading businesses in 2025–26, up 4.6%, the largest percentage rise in the country (ABS), and plenty of them want to sell online. Here are five briefs a WA seller might send, chosen for the Shopify features each one leans on. Every job gets one figure inside A$2,400–A$19,500 once scoped, and takes 2–6 weeks after your content arrives.
| Example brief | Shopify features the build leans on | What pushes the quote up | Plan that usually fits (AUD a month) | Goes into the written scope |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cottesloe or Fremantle swimwear label selling sizes and colours | Colour swatches on each product, a size guide, a returns and exchanges page | More than 100 SKUs with an image for every variant; a custom lookbook section | Basic at A$56, or Grow at A$149 | Any review or wishlist app, and its monthly fee |
| Mount Lawley or Leederville coffee roaster | Grind choices per bag, coffee subscriptions, local delivery across Perth metro | A subscription app; wholesale accounts for cafés | Basic or Grow | Which subscription app, and its monthly fee |
| Manjimup or Pemberton truffle and produce grower | Pre-orders that open before the winter harvest, a chilled delivery zone limited to Perth metro postcodes, a delivery-date choice at checkout | Rules tying delivery dates to harvest and courier days; a separate rate for regional WA | Grow at A$149 | The pre-order and date apps, and what each costs a month |
| Northbridge or Mount Hawthorn streetwear label leaving WooCommerce | Products, customers and orders imported; 301 redirects from old URLs; a password page for drops | Heavy launch-day traffic on drops; how much order history comes across; custom fields | Basic or Grow | Which records move (migration method) |
| Broome or Kimberley pearl jeweller | Signature-on-delivery and insured rates, international shipping zones, a note that overseas buyers may owe import charges | Grading details and several photos per one-off piece; prices shown in overseas currencies | Grow, or Advanced at A$575 | The carrier and insurance options for high-value parcels |
Across all five, the figure follows four things: how many products and variants you sell, how many apps need setting up, whether anything is coming across from an old platform, and whether the design uses an existing theme or needs new sections.

Shipping from WA: delivery promises your Shopify checkout can keep
Can a Perth store promise next-day delivery to Sydney or Melbourne? Not through Australia Post's next-business-day Express Post network. That network runs between capital cities, but for Perth it delivers into the CBD only (postcodes 6000–6005 and 6800–6892), and the Perth CBD isn't included for lodgements. From a Perth dispatch, the honest east-coast promise is Express Post's published 1–3+ business days. Below is what we set up in Shopify and then test-order before launch.
Delivery zones for the growth corridors
ABS figures for 2024–25 put Perth's fastest growth in Alkimos–Eglinton (+13%), Brabham–Henley Brook (+12%) and Baldivis–North (+11%). Alkimos sits at the far northern end of the metro and Baldivis in the south, so a single radius around one dispatch point rarely fits both. We list delivery postcodes one by one instead, checked against Australia Post's postcode search, so a buyer in either suburb sees the right option at checkout.
Delivery-estimate wording at checkout
Shoppers read a rate name as a promise, so "Fast shipping" sounds like next day. We write each rate name from the published speed, add a short line on product pages for buyers outside WA, and repeat that wording in order emails. Per-state cut-off times and sale countdowns are covered on our Perth ecommerce page, and WhatsApp order updates under AI automation in Perth.
Carriers other than Australia Post
Ship with another carrier or through a 3PL's account and the app that pulls its rates into checkout, plus its monthly fee, goes into the written scope by name. Connecting an Australia Post business account is covered on our national Shopify page.
| Delivery option | Australia Post speed or rule | What checkout can honestly say | Shopify setting we configure and test |
|---|---|---|---|
| Parcel Post within WA | 2–4 business days, same state | "Standard, 2–4 business days" | A WA shipping zone, with the days written into the rate name |
| Parcel Post interstate | 3–6 business days | "Standard, 3–6 business days" | A rest-of-Australia zone with its own rates |
| Express Post interstate | 1–3+ business days | "Express, 1–3+ business days" | An Express rate beside Standard, never labelled next day |
| Next-business-day Express network | Perth CBD postcodes 6000–6005 and 6800–6892 for delivery only; the Perth CBD isn't included for lodgements | Nothing about next-day delivery east | Next-day wording taken out of rates, banners and product pages |
| Perth metro local delivery | Not an Australia Post service: your own driver or courier | The delivery days you actually run | Local delivery limited to a postcode list, with its own fee and minimum order |
| Local pickup | Not applicable | "Ready to collect" once the order is packed | Pickup switched on for your shop or warehouse, with a pickup notification |
| Stock held at a 3PL in Canning Vale or Kewdale | Depends on the 3PL's carrier | Whatever that carrier publishes for the route | The 3PL added as a second inventory location, so orders route to where the stock is |
Asking for a quote on an existing store? Include the store link: we read its rates and delivery banners while scoping and point out any that promise more than Australia Post publishes.

Black Friday and Christmas 2026 from Perth: dates to work back from
How long does a Shopify store take, and can it be live before WA's Christmas cut-offs? With us, 2–6 weeks once your content is in, so the answer turns on when you start. Black Friday is Fri 27 November 2026, and the plan below aims to finish every build, test orders included, in the week of 16 November. Australia Post's 2026 metro Parcel Post dates for items sent from WA follow, each assuming counter lodgement by 2.30pm.
| Date | What happens | What your store should show |
|---|---|---|
| Fri 9 Oct | Content in for a full 6-week build to be tested by Fri 20 Nov | Your current theme, untouched; work sits on an unpublished copy |
| Fri 23 Oct | Content in for a 4-week build | Your current theme, untouched |
| Fri 30 Oct | Content in for a 3-week theme job | Your current theme, untouched |
| Fri 6 Nov | Content in for a 2-week fix | Your current theme, untouched |
| Mon 16 – Fri 20 Nov | Test orders to WA and east-coast postcodes, signed off by you | The new theme, published after close once the tests pass |
| Fri 27 Nov | Black Friday | Sale prices and banners; no theme changes on the day |
| Mon 14 Dec | Last Parcel Post from WA to the NT | An order-by message for NT buyers |
| Wed 16 Dec | Last Parcel Post to Tasmania | Tasmanian buyers pointed to Express |
| Thu 17 Dec | Last Parcel Post to Queensland | Queensland buyers pointed to Express |
| Fri 18 Dec | Last Parcel Post to NSW, the ACT, Victoria and SA | Eastern-state buyers pointed to Express |
| Tue 22 Dec | Last Parcel Post within WA, and Express Post from WA closes, a day before most other states (Wed 23 Dec) | Only local delivery and pickup from here, if you run them |
The order-by messages are built as a theme setting, one line per state, so you can switch each one off yourself as its date passes.
Aiming for Black Friday? The content-in dates above are the ones to beat. Send the store link and product count on WhatsApp.

Store changes on Perth time: 12:30pm–9:30pm AWST, Mon–Sat
Our 10am–7pm India day lands at 12:30pm–9:30pm in Perth all year, because WA keeps AWST with no clock change. You review at lunch; we publish after you close. The full hours comparison is on our Perth page.
12:30–5:00pm: calls and decisions
Scope calls, theme reviews and app questions fit your afternoon. Book a video call between 12:30 and 5pm AWST by messaging us on WhatsApp.
5:00–9:30pm: edits while the shop is quiet
We keep editing an unpublished theme copy, publish finished changes once trading winds down, and run test checkouts when few real buyers are browsing. Your previous theme stays in the library, ready to republish if a morning problem can't wait.

Shopify maintenance in Perth: what upkeep costs, and three checks for October
Concise Digital lists amends from $30 + GST each; The Hope Factory sells 10-hour support blocks at $1,760 inc GST, or $176 an hour before discounts. Ours is a monthly band, and the three checks below apply to any Perth store this month, whoever looks after it.
Our support band: A$80–A$240 a month
Shopify already hosts the store, so this is upkeep rather than hosting: app updates, theme fixes and small edits after launch. Where your store falls in the band depends on how many apps it runs and how often products and banners change.
Check 1: take out card surcharges
From 1 October 2026 the Reserve Bank's rules stop Australian businesses surcharging eftpos, Mastercard and Visa payments, and American Express dropped surcharging from the same date. If your store still adds a card fee through an app, a checkout script or a line in the price, remove it. More detail is on our national Shopify page.
Check 2: the fee on a third-party gateway
Take cards through a provider other than Shopify Payments and Shopify adds its own fee to each order: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced. Set that against Shopify Payments' Australian online rate of 1.7% + 30c for domestic cards on Basic before deciding which to keep.
Check 3: delivery text that promises next day
Search your theme, product pages and rate names for "next day" and "overnight", and reword any east-coast line before December: interstate Express from Perth is published at 1–3+ business days.
Growing sales after launch is quoted separately: SEO and Google Ads management run as monthly retainers, with ad spend paid by you straight to Google.

How our invoice is split, and any bug-fix period after launch, are confirmed in writing for your business before you sign. Your customers' card payments settle into your own Shopify Payments or gateway account, so we never handle them, and Shopify, app and carrier charges are billed to you by those companies.
