Quick answer

What do websites for tradies on the Gold Coast cost in year one?

In year one, published Gold Coast tradie website offers cost from about $1,650 inc GST to $14,388 + GST (checked 7 Oct 2026); Codingclave's builds are A$900–A$6,900 with no GST added, plus domain and hosting if you host elsewhere. Most priced packages land between $2,200 and $5,500 once monthly or quarterly fees are counted. The floor is Gold Coast Ecommerce's $1,497 + GST package (per its Google listing, before hosting). Our optional care plan is A$80–A$240 a month.

  • The cheapest build isn't always the cheapest second year
  • Ask in writing what happens if you stop paying
  • Check whether each price says + GST, inc GST or nothing; ours carries no GST

Where a rival is the better buy. Gold Coast Ecommerce's $1,497 + GST sits below most of our custom band: if you want many pages cheaply and you're happy to check what goes on ten location pages, take it. If you'd rather never think about hosting, Connect and Serve's Starter at $2,304 in year one is less than our upper WordPress band plus care.

Read the GST column twice. A sole trader turning over less than $75,000 a year doesn't have to register for GST (ATO), and an unregistered business can't claim the GST back, so a "+ GST" price costs it 10% more than the headline. Compare the inc-GST figures.

Year two reorders the list. Connect and Serve Pro moves to $92 a month from month 13; Your Trade Partner's quarterly fee keeps running. The 24-month rent-versus-own sum is on our national tradie page, and costs for non-trade sites are in the Gold Coast first-year table.

Spray Media and Gold Coast Ecommerce block automated checks, so their rows rest on Google's listing; check their pages before relying on them. Send your current site on WhatsApp and we'll tell you, in writing, where it stands against these eight.

Built from Lucknow, online in your evening: how working with us goes

Codingclave is a founder-led team in Lucknow, India, building since 2017. There's no office, staff, phone line or ABN of ours in Australia, so here is how a Gold Coast trade job runs from over there.

  • Who you deal with

Ashish Sharma, the founder, on WhatsApp (+91 92771 84741), email or video; delivery is founder-led. The number starts +91 because we're in India. WhatsApp messages and calls run over data or wifi, so there's no international call rate on your phone plan. Reviews: ★ 4.9 on Google (76 reviews), on our reviews page.

  • Our hours on your clock

We're online 2:30pm to 11:30pm AEST, Monday to Saturday, all year: 2.5 hours inside a 9-to-5 day, then the stretch when you're off the tools and doing quotes. Photos sent at 8pm arrive while we're still working. Tweed: 3:30pm to 12:30am AEDT until 4 Apr 2027.

  • Ownership, and leaving

The domain is registered in your name, files and code are handed over, and no rent is required. Drop our care plan and the site stays yours to host elsewhere. See who can hold a .com.au.

  • Paying for it

One fixed price, inside the published band, agreed in writing before any work starts. How the payments are staged, how you pay, and what we do if something breaks after launch are confirmed in writing for your business before you sign. Care stays optional at A$80–A$240 a month.

  • No promises about calls

Nobody controls Google's results or how many people need a plumber this month, so no one can honestly promise rankings, calls or leads, and we don't. Offered "results or your money back"? Ask for the terms in writing: what counts, over what period, and what you get back. Ongoing search work sits on our Gold Coast SEO and Gold Coast Google Ads pages.

  • When a Gold Coast agency is the better pick

Hire on the coast for on-site photo shoots, face-to-face meetings or a nearby Google Business Profile retainer. We have no Gold Coast trade sites to show you; if a local trade portfolio matters most, look at Thrive Digital's trade case studies. Also read address lines: The Lead Gen Lab lists a Churchlands WA address and Digital Nomads HQ is in Mooloolaba, so "Gold Coast" in a title doesn't always mean the team is there.

What a Gold Coast trade site needs on day one, and what we need from you

On StatCounter's latest figures, Australian web traffic splits almost evenly: about 48.5% each on phones and desktops (September 2026). So the site has to work for the Helensvale owner with water through the ceiling and for the deck planner at the kitchen table.

  • A call bar for the urgent phone search

Tap-to-call stays pinned as the visitor scrolls, beside the hours you really answer. Calls you miss on the tools are covered on the national page.

  • A longer quote form with photo upload

The laptop planner will give suburb, job type, timing and photos, so your first call is about price. Job-app delivery is on the national tradie page.

  • A licence and insurance line

Your QBCC number on the quote page and footer, insurer named if you like. Electricians show their Electrical Safety Office contractor licence instead of a QBCC number. State-by-state rules are in our licence table; NSW jobs too? See the border section.

  • Service-area wording that names the corridor

"Based in Oxenford, working Ormeau to Southport, under 30 minutes either way" beats sixty suburb names in a footer.

  • Your content pack

    • 15–30 real job photos
    • QBCC or Electrical Safety Office number, plus NSW number and category if relevant
    • suburbs and travel radius
    • insurer's certificate
    • Google Business Profile access

No photos yet? We'll tell you which 15 to take on your next few jobs. Who drafts the page wording is set out in your written quote, and you approve every page on your phone. Rebuilding a WordPress site? See taking it back from an agency or host.

WhatsApp us your 15 best job photos and we'll say which pages they can carry.

Why generic tradie copy loses on the Gold Coast: about 22 trade firms per 1,000 residents

If your page reads like the next sparky's, the customer picks on price, and the Gold Coast has a lot of next sparkies. Divide the ABS count of construction businesses at June 2025 by the city's population and you get roughly 22.2 per 1,000 residents: 15,355 firms for 691,230 people. Brisbane's council area sits near 13.4 (18,377 for 1,375,301). That's our arithmetic, and the ABS counts firms by registered address, so treat both as approximate.

The page that gets the call offers something checkable: a licence number, recognisable job photos, a suburb beside finished work. Industry-by-industry counts are on our Gold Coast SEO page.

Surfers Paradise grew almost as fast in percentage terms (+14.3% against +14.4%). SA4 and council boundaries differ, hence 15,812 here against the council's 15,355. Ten location pages in a package: why more suburb pages can hurt a trade site

Bundles of ten location pages, or sixty suburb links, sell volume. Google's spam policies (last updated 28 Aug 2026) describe doorway abuse as pages created to rank for specific, similar search queries, including pages for cities or regions that "funnel users to one page". Ten templated suburb pages feeding one quote form sit close to that, so make each suburb page earn its place.

  • When a suburb page earns its place

Only where you can show real work there, or real access notes, such as Hope Island or Sanctuary Cove gate and contractor-induction rules. Our national service-area rules cover the rest.

  • When one page does the job

No evidence yet? One strong Gold Coast page lists your areas, Coomera to Coolangatta say, and your driving radius. Add suburb pages as jobs come in.

  • Ask the package seller

How many bundled pages differ by more than the place name? Who writes them? Can you drop the ones you can't back up?

Send us your suburb list on WhatsApp and we'll mark which ones have the jobs to justify a page.

Working both sides of the border: QBCC on the Gold Coast pages, NSW on the Tweed ones

Tweed Heads is minutes from Coolangatta, but another state's licensing applies there, and from October to April another clock.

  • What the NSW Government says

Its Automatic Mutual Recognition page (updated 1 Jul 2025) says Queensland isn't currently in the scheme, so Tweed Heads, Banora Point or Kingscliff jobs need NSW authorisation as well. Ordinary mutual recognition may still be open to individuals; check your own trade and class.

  • How the site shows it

Queensland pages carry your QBCC number (or Electrical Safety Office licence, for electricians); the Tweed page carries your NSW licence number and category. Never let one state's licence read as though it covers both.

  • Which clock your promises use

Tweed runs an hour ahead until 4 Apr 2027, so "we'll call back by 4pm" should say Queensland time. Reminder timing is on our Gold Coast AI automation page.

State rules: our national licence table. Queensland detail: the QBCC website checklist. General information only: check your position with QBCC and NSW Fair Trading. WhatsApp us which licences you hold and we'll map numbers to pages.

Pages that win strata, body corporate and property-manager work

At the 2021 Census about 42% of the Gold Coast's 228,913 occupied dwellings were townhouses or apartments (20.6% and 21.7%), and 33.8% were rented. Of the 4,119 dwellings approved in 2024-25, 2,899 (70%) weren't houses. In those homes much of the work is ordered by body corporate or rental managers, not owners, and they read a trade site with a checklist.

  • What a manager checks

    • insurance certificate download
    • licence line
    • SWMS on request
    • how to raise a work order
    • invoicing to the agency
    • after-hours contact
    • tenant-access notes
  • A work-order form

Fields for work-order or PO number, property address and agency, so each job traces back to their system.

  • Pool barriers

QBCC requires a pool safety certificate to sell or lease a property with a regulated pool, if none is current. A certificate lasts two years for a non-shared pool and one year for a shared pool, and body corporates must keep barriers compliant. Pool fencers, inspectors and handymen can aim a page at those deadlines.

Message "I want strata work" on WhatsApp and we'll sketch the manager pages.

A make-safe page built now, switched on when the next storm hits

When ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred came through in March 2025, more than 300,000 homes in south-east Queensland lost power, which the ABC reported as the state's largest ever loss of power from a natural disaster, and Telstra had 178 mobile sites disrupted. On the Monday morning the Gold Coast still had more than 66,000 properties without power, and about 6,000 were dark in Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah. The Christmas 2023 storms damaged 400 Gold Coast houses, 37 significantly or severely (AAP).

  • Written while it’s calm

For roofers, electricians, arborists, glaziers and fencers: the make-safe page and site banner are built with the site and stay unpublished until you choose to take storm work.

  • Light enough for one bar of signal

With towers down, customers search on patchy coverage. Keep the page short: what you'll make safe, the areas you'll reach, the call button, and a form that takes a photo or two for the assessor.

  • Tweed jobs after a storm

Emergency work across the border is still NSW work, so the Tweed version of the page shows your NSW licence, and its safety link points to NSW SES rather than Queensland's.

  • Times you can meet

Write response times you can keep with a full diary and blocked roads. Never 24/7 unless someone really answers at 3am; after-hours handling is on the national page.

Quoted inside the build band, no separate price. Ask us to set up a storm page.

How much does a tradie website cost on the Gold Coast?

Published Gold Coast tradie packages start at $1,497 + GST up front (Gold Coast Ecommerce, per its Google listing) and run to $1,199 a month + GST on Web Design Collective's plan. Connect and Serve charges $1,800 to $4,800 plus hosting, and Your Trade Partner $1,900 or $3,900 plus a quarterly fee. Ours is a one-off build fee with no required subscription: A$900–A$4,300 for WordPress or A$1,200–A$6,900 custom, with no GST added.

Do Gold Coast tradies need a website if most work comes from word of mouth?

Usually, yes, because a referral still gets checked. Someone handed your name over a fence in Pimpama will search it before calling, looking for a licence number, real job photos and reviews. If all they find is a Facebook page or a directory listing, the next tradie's site can win the call.

What should a tradie website include?

At minimum: a tap-to-call bar that stays on screen, a quote form that takes photos, your licence line (QBCC, or the Electrical Safety Office licence for electricians), the area you really cover, and photos from your own jobs rather than stock images. Add suburb pages, manager pages or a storm page only once you have work to back them up.

Should I pay monthly for a tradie website or own it outright?

Own it if you can cover the build, because rent never ends. Connect and Serve's Starter costs $2,304 in year one and then $504 a year; Your Trade Partner's quarterly fee adds $1,196 or $1,596 a year. Most package pages we checked don't say what happens when you stop paying, so get it in writing: domain in your business name, files you can export, notice period.

Do I need suburb pages on my tradie website, or can they hurt me?

They help when each one shows something real: jobs finished there, reviews naming the suburb, or a yard nearby. Ten templated location pages sit close to what Google's spam policy calls doorway abuse, pages built to rank for similar searches that funnel visitors to one place. Until you have that evidence, one strong Gold Coast page listing your areas and radius is safer.

Can a Gold Coast tradie work in Tweed Heads on a Queensland licence?

Generally not on that licence alone. The NSW Government says Queensland isn't in Automatic Mutual Recognition, so Tweed Heads jobs need NSW authorisation, though ordinary mutual recognition may be open to you. Show the Queensland licence on Queensland pages and the NSW licence on Tweed pages. General information only: check with QBCC (or the Electrical Safety Office) and NSW Fair Trading.

Do I need to show my QBCC licence number on my website?

Yes, if you hold one. QBCC treats a website as advertising, so your licensed name and number belong on it where a reader can easily find them; the exact wording rules are in the QBCC checklist on our Townsville page. Electricians are licensed by the Electrical Safety Office, not QBCC, so show that contractor licence number instead.

Is it OK to use a web designer who isn't on the Gold Coast?

Yes, if you judge it on what you keep when things go wrong. With us the domain is registered in your business name, files and code are handed over, and the price is fixed in writing before work starts; reviews sit at ★ 4.9 on Google (76 reviews). Want someone on site for photos or meetings? Then hire on the coast.
