Overview
The account, Admin access and billing card stay in your name: Google charges your clicks to your card, and our only invoice is the management fee. We work remotely from Lucknow, India, with no Newcastle office, and every edit we make is logged in your account's change history. For comparison, two page-one Newcastle providers print a fee: Firewire Digital in Newcastle West from $1,200 a month with a 3-month minimum, and Redback Solutions in Wickham from $1,200 + GST.

Quick answer
What does Google Ads management cost in Newcastle once you add ad spend and GST?
Each month carries three separate amounts: the manager's fee, Google's charge for the clicks, and the 10% GST Google adds to its own charge. Put A$1,500 into clicks and Google's bill reaches A$1,650. Redback's small tier adds A$1,320 including GST, so the month comes to A$2,970. Firewire's $1,200 flat fee gives A$2,850, or A$2,970 if GST sits on top. At our A$990 floor the month is A$2,640. None of these fees, ours included, buys a guaranteed lead.
- 2 of 8 Australian page-one results print a fee (results 6 Oct, pages re-read 7 Oct 2026)
- Under about A$1,000 of spend, a monthly fee rarely earns its keep
- Firewire expects 4–8 weeks of data before bidding settles
- A 'Newcastle' target alone skips Lake Macquarie's 224,540 residents
- Nobody can guarantee your leads or your rankings

What Newcastle’s page-one Google Ads providers charge, in their own words
We recorded Google Australia's results for 'google ads agency newcastle' on 6 October 2026 and re-read each provider's page on 7 October 2026. Eight results are Australian; a ninth is a Newcastle upon Tyne agency quoting pounds. Each row is the provider's own published wording.
| Provider | Office | Published fee | Ad spend guidance | Term as stated | What to ask |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Firewire Digital | Newcastle West | From $1,200 a month, flat; GST wording not stated | No minimum; enough to gather conversion data | 3-month minimum, then month to month | Is GST added to the $1,200? |
| Redback Solutions | Wickham | Small from $1,200 + GST; Medium from $2,000 + GST; Large from $3,000 + GST | $1,500–$3,000; $3,000–$15,000; $15,000+ a month | None found on the page | What is the notice period, in writing? |
| Gorilla 360 | Carrington | Flat fee, not published; never a percentage of spend | Clients typically launch on $1,000+ a month | Not stated | What fee and term at my budget? |
| Digital Spotlight | Hamilton | Not published; says no hidden commissions | Not stated | Says it doesn't lock clients into contracts | What notice period applies? |
| AIA | No Newcastle office | Not published | Not stated | No lock-in contracts | Who manages my account day to day? |
| David Kloeber | Melbourne, freelance | Not published | Not stated | No lock-in, 4 weeks' notice | What is the monthly fee? |
| HyperWeb | Adamstown | Nothing published | Not stated | Not stated | Is Google Ads priced apart from social ads? |
| Digital Hunter | Newcastle, sole operator | Nothing published | Not stated | Not stated | What is the fee, and is there a minimum term? |
| Codingclave | Remote, Lucknow, India | A$990–A$9,800 a month (what it covers) | A fee rarely pays under about A$1,000 of spend | Set in your written agreement before you sign | The same questions, put to us |
Check any Partner badge yourself. Redback calls itself Newcastle's only Google Premier Partner, while Gorilla 360 in Carrington and Digital Spotlight in Hamilton also describe themselves as Premier. Search any name in Google's public Partners directory. Codingclave holds neither badge; our national Google Ads page explains what they measure.
A 'from' price is a floor, not your quote. Redback's tiers follow your ad spend, so A$5,000 a month of clicks lands you in Medium at $2,000 + GST. Off page one, Ramp Up Digital in Wallsend bundles SEO and Google Ads management in a $1,250 ex-GST Local Growth Starter plan.

Fee, spend and Google’s GST added up for a Hunter budget
A management fee is only one line of the month. Google bills the clicks, then adds 10% GST when the account carries an Australian business address (Google's tax help). The table adds all three at each provider's published starting fee. Click prices by industry and the fuller GST detail sit on our national Google Ads page.
| Scenario | Fee per month | Spend to Google + 10% GST | Month total | Fees committed before you can leave |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Firewire, A$1,500 of spend | A$1,200 (GST wording not stated) | A$1,650 | A$2,850, or A$2,970 if GST is added to the fee | At least A$3,600 (3-month minimum) |
| Redback Small, A$1,500 of spend | A$1,320 (A$1,200 + GST) | A$1,650 | A$2,970 | No term stated |
| Redback Medium, A$3,000 of spend | A$2,200 (A$2,000 + GST) | A$3,300 | A$5,500 | No term stated |
| Codingclave floor, A$1,500 of spend | A$990 | A$1,650 | A$2,640 | Whatever your written terms set |
| Codingclave, larger scope | Quoted within A$990–A$9,800 | Your spend + 10% | Fee + spend + GST | Whatever your written terms set |
At exactly A$3,000, Redback's Small and Medium bands meet; on the Small tier that month would be A$4,620.
Sole traders. The ABS counts 9,383 of the City of Newcastle's 16,296 businesses (57.6%) with no employees at 30 June 2025. Below about A$1,000 of spend, any monthly fee, ours included, swallows too much of the budget to pay its way. A one-off build that you then run yourself fits better, and the national page sets out that route. Weak landing page? Check what a Newcastle website costs first.
Tell us your budget on WhatsApp and we'll say whether a fee makes sense.

Target Lake Macquarie City Council too: 224,540 residents a ‘Newcastle’ target misses
ABS estimates at 30 June 2025 put Lake Macquarie at 224,540 residents, ahead of the City of Newcastle's 178,935, so a campaign aimed only at the Newcastle city target leaves out the bigger of the two markets. Charlestown, Warners Bay, Cardiff and Belmont all sit in Lake Macquarie.
| Council area | Residents (ERP) | Businesses | Google Ads target to pick |
|---|---|---|---|
| City of Newcastle | 178,935 | 16,296 | Newcastle City Council, municipality 9112733 |
| Lake Macquarie | 224,540 | 15,181 | Lake Macquarie City Council, municipality 9112767 |
| Maitland | 100,439 | 6,142 | Maitland City Council, municipality 9112793 |
| Port Stephens | 80,070 | 5,254 | Port Stephens Council, municipality 9112645 |
| Cessnock | 71,443 | 3,626 | Cessnock city target 1000173; no council target exists |
| Total | 655,427 | 46,499 | Four council targets plus the Cessnock city target |
Clinics feel the same split: the ABS counts 27,570 health care and social assistance jobs in the City of Newcastle and 29,519 in Lake Macquarie (year to June 2023). A Charlestown physio aimed at the 'Newcastle' city target misses its own catchment, so add both council areas. Trades lean even further south, with construction making up 24.6% of Lake Macquarie's businesses; our Newcastle tradie websites page breaks that down by council.
Firewire's Newcastle page says Hunter auctions usually have fewer bidders and a fraction of Sydney's search volume. Split a small budget across many suburb ad groups and each starves of data, so start with a few council-level groups. For the big-city contrast, see Google Ads in Sydney and the click-price table.
Based in Charlestown, Warners Bay or Cardiff? Ask us whether your ads actually reach Lake Macquarie.

Location targets that trip up Hunter campaigns
Google Ads has council-level targets for Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Port Stephens, but not for Cessnock, and several inner Newcastle suburbs have no target of their own. Every ID below comes from Google's geotargets file dated 12 August 2026; search the exact name, then check the outline on the map preview before saving.
| Trap | What the file shows | What to pick instead |
|---|---|---|
| Two 'Newcastle' city targets | 1000255 'Newcastle, New South Wales' and 9060894 'Newcastle, Newcastle, New South Wales' both appear | Newcastle City Council (9112733), or one city target chosen on purpose |
| Cessnock and the Hunter Valley | No council target; city target 1000173 only | The Cessnock city target, plus a radius around Pokolbin wide enough to cover the vineyard district (Google's minimum is 1 km) |
| Wickham, Kotara, Lambton, Jesmond, The Junction, Cooks Hill | None of these suburbs has its own target | Postcodes 2293 (Wickham), 2289 (Kotara), 2299 (Lambton, Jesmond), 2291 (The Junction), 2300 (Cooks Hill) |
| Newcastle West and Islington | Postcodes 2302 and 2296 aren't available as targets | A radius of 1 km or more, or the council target |
| Hamilton and Belmont | Namesakes: Hamilton in NZ, Ontario, Scotland and the US; Belmont in WA, QLD and VIC | Hamilton NSW (9060895); Belmont NSW (9207844) |
Google's location help sets the minimum radius at 1 km and allows up to 1,000 locations at once in bulk, postcodes included. Most Hunter trades only need the council targets for the areas they drive to.
Send a screenshot of your locations and we'll mark the targets we would change.

Presence or interest: when a Hunter business should reach Sydney searchers
Under Location options, Google offers two main settings (Google Help). Presence or interest reaches people who are in, regularly in, or showing interest in your target areas; it is the default, and the one Google recommends. Presence reaches only people who are in, or regularly in, those areas. Choose by where your customer has to be when they buy.
| Business | Setting | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wallsend plumber | Presence | Only people physically in the area can book a call-out |
| Charlestown accountant | Presence, with the Lake Macquarie council target | Clients are local, and Charlestown sits outside the Newcastle city target |
| Pokolbin cellar door | Presence or interest, plus a Sydney layer | Day-trippers and weekenders search before they leave home |
| Port Stephens tour operator | Presence or interest | Tours are often booked from outside the region |
| Hunter wedding venue | Presence or interest | Couples often plan from Sydney, months ahead |
Destination NSW counts 14.0 million visitors, 16.5 million nights and $6.0 billion of visitor spending in the Hunter region in the year ending March 2026, which is why tourism keeps interest targeting. A 'Sydney layer' means Sydney as its own location in a separate campaign, with its own budget and keywords that name the Hunter.
Because Presence or interest is the default, a tradie who never opens Location options pays for clicks from people merely interested in Newcastle. Check it first in any inherited account.

Negative keywords for a city name shared from Staffordshire to KwaZulu-Natal
Location targeting decides where the searcher is, not which Newcastle they mean. A Mayfield resident pricing a plumber for a relative in Newcastle upon Tyne is still inside your target, and a 'plumber newcastle' keyword can enter that auction. Australian autocomplete shows the problem plainly: on 7 October 2026, 'plumber newcastle' suggested Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Co Down and Emlyn.
| Add as negative | Use in | Where it showed up | Match type |
|---|---|---|---|
| upon tyne | Every Newcastle campaign | Suggested under 'plumber newcastle', 'builder newcastle' and 'physio newcastle' | Phrase |
| under lyme | Every Newcastle campaign | Newcastle-under-Lyme, in Staffordshire, under the same trade searches | Phrase |
| co down, county down | Every Newcastle campaign | Newcastle in Northern Ireland, under 'plumber', 'electrician' and 'physio newcastle' | Phrase |
| emlyn | Every Newcastle campaign | Newcastle Emlyn in Wales, under 'plumber' and 'builders newcastle' | Broad |
| kzn | Every Newcastle campaign | Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, under 'electrician' and 'builders newcastle' | Broad |
| jobs, apprentice | Trade campaigns | 'electrician newcastle jobs' and 'apprentice electrician jobs newcastle' come from job-seekers | Broad |
| nhs, cement, jobs | Only if you bid on 'ppc' or 'marketing' terms | 'what is ppc nhs', 'ppc cement newcastle' and 'ppc jobs newcastle' appear under 'ppc newcastle' | Broad |
Even this page's own search shows a Newcastle upon Tyne PPC agency on google.com.au. Read the search terms report weekly for the first month and add any overseas place name. Making your website read clearly as Newcastle NSW is an SEO task, covered on our Newcastle SEO page.
We add this list, plus your trade's own, during the build. Send last month's search terms report and we'll point out the clicks meant for another Newcastle.

NSW trade ads: where the licence number goes in a Google ad
NSW Fair Trading's building trade advertising rules cover internet ads for residential building work over $5,000 and specialist work of any value, and each ad needs the licensee's name, the licence number with its category and the business phone number.
| Where | What to include | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Ad description line | Licensee name, plus licence number with its category | Pin it, since responsive search ads rotate descriptions; lower ad strength is the price of compliance |
| Callout or structured snippet asset | The licence category, such as licensed electrician | Assets don't always show, so they back up the description line |
| Call asset | The business phone number | Adds tap-to-call; keep the number in the ad text too |
| Landing page | Name, licence number with category, phone, and the full price wherever any price appears | A part-price can't be advertised unless the single full price is also clearly stated, on the page as in the ad |
Licence-ready landing pages are covered on websites for Newcastle tradies, and wider trade advice on our tradies page.
WhatsApp your licence category and suburbs and we'll draft the ad lines that carry your licence details.

Google Maps, your Business Profile and what ads can and can’t do
Ads can put your address and a paid placement in front of nearby searchers. They can't buy a spot in the unpaid local results: on 6 October 2026 the map result for 'google ads agency newcastle' went to Firewire alone, with 5.0 from 37 Google reviews, and that pack changes over time.
Location assets read from your profile
The address, map pin and distance in an ad come from Google Maps and your Business Profile (Google Help). Linked location assets can show on the Search Network, search partner sites, the Display Network, YouTube and Google Maps.
Access stays yours
Linking needs management access to the Business Profile; otherwise the ads account requests it and the profile's manager approves. You stay the owner.
Paid pins are not the 3-pack
Ads on Maps are paid placements, separate from the three unpaid local results. More ad spend won't lift your organic map position, and nobody, us included, can promise a map-pack place.
Map-pack ranking, Business Profile clean-up and the question of Ads versus SEO for a Hunter business are on our Newcastle SEO page.

Run from Lucknow, not Hamilton: what that changes for your account
Digital Hunter, a Newcastle specialist, tells prospects 'No outsourcing overseas'. It's a fair worry, and we are overseas: Codingclave Development LLP is a founder-led team in Lucknow, India, started by Ashish Sharma in 2017, with no office, staff, phone line or company in Australia.
Ownership
The account, Admin access, billing card, conversion actions, audiences and history stay in your name. We are added as a user and removed when you leave, and the change history stays behind. Ownership of the ad copy and assets we write is confirmed in writing before you sign.
Payment safety
Google charges your card and invoices you directly, so we never hold ad money. Our fee is billed separately, and how you pay it is agreed in writing before work starts.
Time zone
NSW is on AEDT from 4 October 2026 to 4 April 2027 (NSW Government), and our 10:00–19:00 India hours, Monday to Saturday, land like this:
- 3:30–5:00pm weekdays → the live window for video calls, launch sign-off and questions.
- 5:00pm to 12:30am → WhatsApp stays open while bids, negatives and ads are edited.
- Next morning → each edit sits in the account's change history, with its time and author.
From April, back on AEST, the day becomes 2:30–11:30pm and the overlap grows to 2.5 hours.
Checks you can run yourself
We have no Google Ads case study to put on this page, so we won't quote a cost per lead we can't show you. Judge any manager, us included, on Change history, the search terms report and whether each conversion action was test-fired with a real enquiry before launch. Our national page lists seven vetting questions.
Support
WhatsApp first, then email and video calls, read during our hours (3:30pm–12:30am AEDT, Monday to Saturday); anything sent outside them waits until we open. A plain-English report arrives each month.
When a Newcastle agency fits better
Hire locally if you want face-to-face meetings, map-pack and Business Profile work done in person, or a Google Partner badge on the contract; Firewire, Redback and Gorilla 360 all have Hunter offices. Online sellers need a clean product feed first; see ecommerce websites in Newcastle.
What we can point to: ★ 4.9 on Google (76 reviews), 200+ projects since 2017, Top Rated on Upwork, and founder-led delivery. Read the reviews, then send us your locations and search terms and judge how we think before any fee is agreed.
