Overview

Every month's work is listed line by line, and you can check it in your own Search Console and Business Profile, both kept in your name. We're a founder-led team in Lucknow, India, reachable on WhatsApp through your afternoon and evening, and we won't promise you a map-pack spot. Send your site and suburbs: we'll name the three businesses Google shows instead of you, plus three fixes, free.

Quick answer

What does an SEO agency in Townsville cost each month in 2026?

As of 7 Oct 2026, RGC is the one agency on page one for "seo agency townsville", of those we opened, that publishes a monthly price: tiers from $1,000, $1,500 and $2,000. Sitecentre's Townsville page, outside that top ten, lists $1,699, $2,299 and $2,699, set by keywords tracked. Neither states GST. What's The Damage (October 2026) puts a typical Townsville retainer at $1,500–$3,500 a month. Ours starts at A$990 with no GST on top: A$709 under Sitecentre's cheapest plan and A$10 under RGC's "from" figure. If you're GST-registered, compare like for like: a quote that includes GST costs you about one-eleventh less once you claim the credit.

  • Sitecentre prices by keywords tracked; ask any agency what work a month actually includes
  • Four ranking agencies quote only: Safari Digital, Digital Nomads HQ, Digital Surfer and ThatWare
  • None of the pages we checked states a notice period; yours is agreed in writing before you sign
  • Google Ads spend goes from you to Google, never through us

What Townsville SEO agencies charge, as printed on their own pages (7 Oct 2026)

We opened the agency pages ranking for "seo agency townsville" on 7 Oct 2026, plus Sitecentre's Townsville page (not in the top ten, but it prints Townsville prices) and the What's The Damage guide, and copied only what each one says. Watch the unit column: it shows whether a price buys tracked keywords, a tier name or work you can list. We re-check this table every quarter; the next check is due January 2027.

"Not shown" or "Not stated" means the page is silent, so ask whether the figure is ex or inc GST. Sitecentre's heading calls it the "#1 SEO Townsville Agency"; that's the agency describing itself, and a self-applied label says nothing a buyer can check. Allcorp, RankingCo, RevgenX and an SEOTakeoff listicle also rank on page one; we saw only their snippets, so they're left out. When Townsville searches spike: wet season, cyclones and the year’s other peaks

A new page needs weeks to be crawled and settle, so seasonal pages go live before demand arrives. The rises below are typical patterns, not measured volumes.

A Townsville search calendar for publishing and profile updates
MonthsSearches that rise (typical)Publish byBusiness Profile action
Roughly November to April (wet season, cyclone risk)Storm repairs, roofing, electricians, generators, pest controlLate OctoberSpecial hours during closures; posts when you reopen or take urgent jobs
Around Defence posting changeoversRemovalists, rentals, childcare, vets, mechanicsA few weeks beforeService list and photos brought up to date
Dry season (Magnetic Island visitors)Accommodation, tours, cafésBefore the season startsFresh photos and current hours
May and June (end of financial year)Accountants, bookkeepers, equipment and vehicle salesAprilPosts on tax-time services and any extended hours

Compare each month with the same month last year in Search Console, not with the month before. Set against the previous month, a wet-season dip or spike can look like an SEO result when it's only the weather.

Local office or remote team: which suits your Townsville business

On 6 Oct 2026 the map pack for "seo agency townsville" showed three firms with Townsville addresses, while most of the organic page-one agencies run from Sydney, Norwest, Burleigh Heads, Mooloolaba or India. Where your agency sits doesn't change how you rank; your pages, your profile and your reviews do. It does change how you work together.

  • Online 2:30pm–11:30pm AEST, Monday to Saturday

That's your afternoon and evening. Message from a job at 4pm or from the couch at 8pm and you reach the people doing the work. Report calls usually sit after 5pm, at 5:30pm or 7pm, and those times hold all year because Queensland clocks never change and India's don't either. Work done in our evening is logged and waiting when you start the next morning; our Townsville page shows the full daily overlap.

  • What you don’t get from a team in Lucknow

Codingclave has no Townsville office, phone line or ABN, and we'd rather you read that here than find out later. Founder Ashish Sharma leads the work from Lucknow, India, on WhatsApp, with a screen-share call when something needs showing. In place of a shopfront you get three protections: no lock-in, a notice period written down before you pay, and work you can check in accounts you own.

  • When a Townsville-based agency suits you better

Pick a consultant or agency in Townsville if you want meetings across a table, workshops with your staff or someone on site for a photo or video shoot. Our studio or remote team notes cover the same choice for websites.

How your own Business Profile gets into the Townsville map pack

Google's help page says local results are based mainly on "relevance, distance, and popularity", and covers prominence further down. We can't put Codingclave in the Townsville map pack, but this part you control, through your own profile.

  • Distance across a city that runs from Bushland Beach to Annandale

Google weighs where the searcher is standing. A Kirwan electrician can appear first for someone in Kirwan or Thuringowa Central and not at all for someone in Bushland Beach or Deeragun, with the same profile and reviews. Search your main service on a phone from three or four suburbs and note the three businesses shown each time.

  • Service areas, and keeping a home address hidden

Google's guidelines say a service-area business should hide its address from customers. If the van leaves from your house in Kelso, hide the street address and list the suburbs you really travel to. A service area tells Google where you work; it doesn't make distance stop counting.

  • Why a co-working desk or PO box won’t work

Google won't accept an office at a co-working space unless it has clear signage, receives customers during opening hours and is staffed by your own people in those hours. PO boxes and mailboxes at remote locations aren't acceptable. A rented CBD mailing address is a fast way to a suspended listing; our notes on Business Profile rules list the other triggers.

  • Categories and reviews against the three above you

Open each of the three businesses Google shows for your main search and read the category under its name. If they name the exact job and your primary category is broader, a Condon competitor can take a search your Kelso business should win. Ask for reviews after each job, with no discount or gift attached; reviews that mention a Deeragun roof or a Magnetic Island call-out show searchers where you really work.

  • The profile stays in your name

You remain the primary owner. If we work on the profile, you add us as a manager, can remove that access whenever you like, and nothing changes without your go-ahead. We never ask for ownership or build a second profile.

No agency can promise where you'll rank in Townsville, whether you'll reach the map pack or how many leads arrive, and we don't either. ThatWare's own page says it "does not promise guaranteed page-one placements", and Google's ranking tips put it plainly: "There's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google." More on why rankings can't be promised.

Ask which three businesses Google shows for your main search and we'll name them, with three fixes for your profile or site.

Which Townsville suburbs deserve their own page

Let Search Console decide. Filter the Queries report by a suburb name and read three months of impressions. A suburb that keeps turning up beside your service earns a page; one you serve with no search signal goes in your Business Profile service area; anywhere else gets a mention on a job write-up.

Townsville suburb clusters: page, service area or mention
ClusterSuburbsUsual choiceSearch Console signal that changes it
Northern beachesDeeragun, Burdell, Bohle Plains, Mount LowService area, plus a mention on the service pageSteady "[service] + suburb" impressions justify a page
Thuringowa corridorThuringowa Central, Condon, Rasmussen, KelsoIts own page only if you have real jobs, photos or reviews thereQueries naming the suburb, plus enquiries you can trace to it
SouthIdalia, Cranbrook, Mount LouisaService areaA suburb name climbing in Queries over two or three months
Inner cityWest End, Railway Estate, Hyde ParkA mention; inner-city searchers are close to most CBD-side businessesRarely changes unless you have premises there
Magnetic IslandThe island as a wholeOwn page if you service the island, with ferry logistics and call-out termsQueries that name the island or its bays
Wider North QueenslandBurdekin/Ayr, Charters Towers, InghamA page only with distinct terms, such as travel feesCalls and queries naming the town

The test for any suburb page: it has to carry something true only of that area, such as jobs done there, travel terms, local photos or a different service mix. Swap the suburb name and nothing else, and it's a doorway page. If you also work further north, our Cairns and FNQ areas section covers that catchment; for the coast south, see our Mackay page.

SEO for Townsville’s own industries: Defence, the port, health and the trades

Townsville Enterprise counts more than 4,500 ADF personnel in the city, and the Port of Townsville calls itself a leading exporter of copper, zinc and sugar. That gives two large search audiences: newcomers who don't know the suburbs yet, and buyers who search by capability.

  • Defence families and new arrivals

Townsville Enterprise calls Townsville North Queensland Australia's designated "Army Capital", with Lavarack Barracks and RAAF Base Townsville, and expects about 500 more ADF personnel from 2025. Every posting brings households who don't yet know Kirwan from Kelso, searching for removalists, rentals, childcare, vets and mechanics, typically around posting changeovers. Pages written for a newcomer (which suburbs suit a Lavarack commute, how soon a first appointment is free) meet those searches early. Property managers can do the same; see real estate agencies.

  • Port and mining-services suppliers

The Port of Townsville describes itself as a leading exporter of copper, zinc, lead, sugar, fertiliser and molasses. The contractors, fabricators and logistics firms serving that trade are found by procurement officers and site managers who search by capability and compliance, not by suburb. Give each capability its own page, write finished jobs up as case pages, and put certifications and inductions in page text, not a logo strip.

  • Health, allied health and NDIS

Patients search by practitioner type and suburb, then try to book. Give each practitioner and each location a page with qualifications, services and a booking link that works on a phone. Ahpra's rules restrict testimonials in advertising a regulated health service, so check its advertising hub before quoting a patient review on your site or asking patients for Google reviews. Participants and support coordinators search using the support category names the NDIS uses, so put those words in headings and service lists. More on clinics and allied health and NDIS providers.

  • Tradies

Most trade searches pair a job with a place: "hot water repair Condon" or "aircon service Idalia". One strong page per core service, naming the suburbs you actually reach, plus job photos and a steady run of reviews, does most of the work. Licence details belong on the site as well; our QBCC website checklist sets out what to show. Features we build for trades are on the tradies page.

  • Magnetic Island and hospitality

Island searches come from the mainland, from interstate visitors planning ahead and from phones on the day: things to do on Magnetic Island, breakfast near the ferry terminal. Hours that match your profile, a current menu or room list, and pages answering arrival questions (what's open when the first boat docks) catch them. See accommodation and restaurants and cafés.

Keyword counts or named work: what a Townsville SEO package should list

Sitecentre's Townsville plans are sold by how many keywords get tracked: 10–20, 20–40 or 40–60. A keyword count tells you how many phrases appear in a report, not whether a page was fixed, written or linked. We price by workstream, so each line can be checked in your own accounts. Both columns below are examples; the second is quoted inside A$990–A$9,800 once we've seen the sites.

One Townsville SEO month, two example businesses
WorkstreamKirwan electrician near the A$990 floor (example; scope confirmed in writing)Multi-site allied-health practice (scoped inside the band)Where you check it
Technical fixesCrawl errors, slow pages and broken links on a small siteThe same across every location, plus booking-form trackingSearch Console Pages and Core Web Vitals reports

Business Profile upkeepServices, hours, photos and postsEach location's profile, hours matched to the siteYour profile dashboard, where we appear as a manager
Reviews routineA text-message request after each jobReplies to every review; no patient testimonials quoted on the siteReview count and replies on each profile

If the site itself needs work before SEO is worth paying for, start with what a Townsville website costs. The full list of workstreams, and where each is verified, sits in our monthly deliverables ledger.

Already paying for SEO in Townsville? A second-opinion checklist

Open your agency's last report and your own accounts, and see whether you can answer these without phoning anyone:

  • In your Business Profile's people and access settings, is your name or the agency's against primary owner?
  • In Search Console and GA4, whose Google account owns the property?
  • Does the invoice match the quote, or did GST appear on top?
  • Does the report list pages changed and written, or only a count of keywords tracked?
  • How many days' notice does your agreement ask for, and where is that written down?
  • Has anyone bought links for your site? Hundreds of new links from unrelated overseas sites are worth asking about.

If an answer is "the agency" or "I don't know", WhatsApp last month's report for a free second opinion. We'll say what it shows and what it leaves out.

Our Townsville SEO retainer in Australian dollars

What the A$990 end can buy, for a one-trade business such as a Kirwan electrician: technical fixes, Business Profile upkeep, one new service-and-suburb page, a review-request routine, a change log and a short call each month (an example; your scope is confirmed in writing before you sign). Several trades, several locations or a crowded field cost more within the band.

  • Terms: no lock-in contract; notice period, any setup fee and payment method confirmed in writing before you sign. Safari Digital, Sitecentre, RGC and ThatWare also advertise no lock-in, so compare notice periods instead; none of their pages states one.
  • Money: our fee is invoiced monthly in Australian dollars. If Google Ads runs alongside, Google charges the ad spend to you directly; it never passes through us.
  • If you stop: give the agreed notice. Your Business Profile, Search Console and GA4 were in your name throughout, so there's nothing to hand back. How the pages we wrote and the change log pass to you is set out in the same written terms.

How much do SEO agencies charge in Townsville?

Of the pages we checked on 7 Oct 2026, two print figures: Sitecentre's Townsville plans at $1,699, $2,299 and $2,699 a month, priced by keywords tracked, and RGC's tiers from $1,000, $1,500 and $2,000. Four other ranking agencies quote on request. What's The Damage puts a typical Townsville retainer at $1,500–$3,500 a month, and single-area campaigns, the usual fit for a small one-service business, at $800–$1,500. Codingclave charges A$990 to A$9,800 a month. For your own figure, WhatsApp +91 92771 84741 with your URL and suburbs.

Do Townsville SEO prices include GST?

Usually the page doesn't say. Sitecentre and RGC show monthly figures without stating whether GST is in them, and the What's The Damage guide doesn't address it, so ask any agency in writing whether its quote is ex or inc GST. Codingclave's A$990–A$9,800 range has no GST added. If your business is GST-registered, a quote that includes GST costs you roughly one-eleventh less after you claim the credit, so put both quotes on the same footing before comparing.

How soon does a Townsville business see anything from SEO?

Profile fixes such as categories, service area and hours can change which searches you appear in within weeks. New pages usually take a few months to settle. The earliest signal shows in your own Search Console as impressions for the suburb and service searches being targeted, well before the phone rings more often. Digital Nomads HQ advertises "90 days to major impact"; we won't put a date on rankings, but the monthly change log shows what moved and what didn't.

Is SEO still worth it in 2026 for a Townsville tradie or clinic?

It depends on what a job is worth and how often people search for it. If one new job brings you $500 profit, A$990 a month pays for itself at two extra jobs a month from Google; a business that wins two customers a year from search probably can't justify a retainer. Townsville added 2,288 residents net in 2024–25 (QGSO), and many newcomers start with a search. AI answer tools draw on the same crawlable pages, so the groundwork doesn't change.

Which SEO agency is best in Townsville, and does it need to be based here?

No independent ranking decides it. Sitecentre's heading calls it "#1", which is the agency describing itself. Location doesn't change how you rank either; your pages, profile and reviews do. Judge any agency on five points: where it is actually based, whether it prints a price, whether that price is ex or inc GST, whether your Business Profile stays in your name as owner, and what notice it asks for. A Townsville-based agency suits you if you want meetings in person. Send your shortlist on WhatsApp and we'll check each one against those five, us included.

Can any SEO agency guarantee me a map-pack spot in Kirwan or Bushland Beach?

No. Google bases local results mainly on relevance, distance and popularity, and distance is measured from the person searching, which nobody controls. That's why a competitor can show for a searcher in Kirwan and vanish for one in Bushland Beach. Google's help page adds: "There's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google." An agency can make your profile and site relevant to more searches, for example with a page about your northern-beaches work and reviews from customers there, but it can't promise a position.

If I hire a Townsville SEO agency, who owns my Business Profile, and can I leave?

You should own it, and you should be able to leave. Stay primary owner of the Business Profile and owner of the Search Console and GA4 properties, and give any agency manager or user access you can remove. With Codingclave there's no lock-in contract; the notice period, any setup fee and payment method are confirmed in writing for your business before you sign. Several agencies ranking in Townsville also advertise no lock-in, so ask each one how many days' notice it wants and where that is written.

Should a Townsville service business start with SEO or Google Ads?

If the phone needs to ring this week, during storm season for example, a Google Ads campaign can put you on the page as soon as it goes live, for as long as you pay per click. SEO builds over months and keeps bringing searches without a click charge, so some owners run a small campaign while new pages settle. Google bills the ad spend to you, apart from any management fee; our Google Ads management page is in the related links below.
