Software Development Company in Lucknow: 12 Vetted + Prices

There are 12 software development companies in Lucknow that I could verify by office address, CIN or campus in October 2026, and a founder-led studio here will quote Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh for a business website, Rs 3 lakh to Rs 15 lakh for custom CRM or ERP software, and Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 6 lakh for a mobile app. The five enterprise firms (HCL, TCS, Wipro, Coforge, Genpact) rarely take work below Rs 25 lakh. Hourly rates run Rs 400 to Rs 2,500, which is 30 to 50 per cent below Bangalore.

This page is for buyers choosing a software development partner, not for job seekers. If you want the list of IT employers in the city ranked by headcount and hiring, read our 20 IT companies in Lucknow instead. Here I only include companies with a verified Lucknow presence: a physical office address, a CIN on the MCA register, or a campus I can confirm from public records. Several lists online include Newgen Software, Birlasoft, Yatiken, Saturotech and AppPerfect as Lucknow companies. They are not, and I have left them out.

Look for: a founder-led studio (5 to 50 people), fixed-price milestones, prior MVP work you can click through. Skip: Tier-1 firms (overhead too high) and rock-bottom quotes (delivery risk). Expected spend: Rs 3 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Shortlist: Codingclave, SigmaIT, Ezeonsoft.

SMB buying operations software (CRM, ERP, HRMS, billing)

Look for: experience with similar-sized clients, GST and compliance readiness, a written post-launch support plan. Skip: Tier-1 firms; they will not engage below Rs 25 lakh. Expected spend: Rs 3 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. Shortlist: Codingclave, SigmaIT, Jamtech.

Government department or PSU

Look for: a track record of government contracts, UP empanelment, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 documentation. Skip: boutiques with no enterprise delivery. Expected spend: Rs 25 lakh and up. Shortlist: TCS, HCL Technologies, Wipro, Coforge.

US, UK, Australian or GCC client offshoring to India

The 5 enterprise IT firms in Lucknow (HCL, TCS, Wipro, Coforge, Genpact)

1. HCL Technologies, HCL IT City, Sushant Golf City

Campus: HCL IT City, Lucknow-Sultanpur-Varanasi Marg, Sushant Golf City, Lucknow 226030, about 100 acres inside the Chak Gajaria CG City development Lucknow headcount: roughly 4,000. HR Katha reported 4,000 employees and a 6,000 target in February 2020; Invest UP lists the campus as a Rs 1,500 crore investment Parent founded: 1976 (Noida) Model: public-private partnership with the Uttar Pradesh government

HCL IT City is the largest IT employer in Lucknow and the flagship outcome of the state's IT policy. The campus has a skill development centre and trainee housing. Delivery serves HCL's global telecom, BFSI, manufacturing and digital engineering clients. It is not a practical choice for an Indian SMB wanting a local agency relationship; minimums sit at Rs 50 lakh and up.

Best for: multi-year enterprise engagements, Smart City work, regulated industries needing SOC 2 or ISO 27001 paperwork. Skip if: you need fixed-price project work below Rs 25 lakh.

2. TCS, Awadh Park, Vibhuti Khand

Office: TCS Awadh Park, 1/1 Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow 226010 Lucknow headcount: 2,500+ associates. In December 2025, Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran and the UP chief minister discussed growing TCS's combined Lucknow and Noida headcount from about 16,000 to roughly 30,000 Parent founded: 1968

The Awadh Park centre sits across the road from the UP state secretariat, by design. It specialises in government and PSU IT, consulting and support, alongside delivery for TCS's global clients. Like HCL, it is not approachable for direct SMB engagement.

Best for: large enterprise work, UP government projects, banking and PSU contracts. Skip if: you want a small fixed-price web or app build.

3. Wipro, Rana Pratap Marg

Wipro's Lucknow presence is smaller than HCL or TCS but steadily active on UP government and central PSU contracts. Not available for direct SMB work.

Lucknow office: confirmed through Glassdoor employee reviews; headquarters at the Tech Zone SEZ, Greater Noida 201308 Parent founded: 1981 as NIIT Technologies; renamed Coforge in 2020 Specialisation: aviation, insurance, travel, banking, public sector Typical engagement: Rs 25 lakh to Rs 5 crore

Coforge has the thinnest Lucknow verification on this list, so treat it as a regional team rather than a campus. Its practice areas are sharp: aviation (DGCA and AAI work), insurance, travel and government.

Best for: aviation, insurance, mid-sized government projects.

5. Genpact, Experio, Vibhuti Khand

This is a change from the Hazratganj address I listed when this page was first written. Genpact's Lucknow delivery is BPO, finance and accounting, analytics and digital operations rather than custom software engineering, so it is on this list as an employer and process-outsourcing option, not as a build partner.

Best for: process outsourcing, finance and accounting, analytics.

Software companies in Uttar Pradesh outside Lucknow

Searchers often widen from Lucknow to the whole state, so here is the honest map.

• Noida and Greater Noida: the state's real software hub, with about 1,089 software companies per RegisterKaro's 2026 count. Headquarters of Newgen Software (Noida), Coforge (Tech Zone SEZ, Greater Noida) and Birlasoft, plus HCL's Sector 126 campus and TCS Noida. If you need product engineering at scale or deep-tech niches, Noida wins.
• Kanpur: Dataman Computer Systems, founded 1990 with 100 to 150 staff, is the city's anchor software company, strong in ERP for manufacturing and trading. A handful of 10 to 30 person studios cover web and mobile work.
• Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Agra: mostly 10 to 40 person studios (Sheshmani Info Solution, Thetabyte Solutions, N T Soft and similar) serving local businesses, with Lucknow studios such as Ezeonsoft and Codingclave taking the larger projects remotely.
• Policy backdrop: the UP IT and ITeS Policy 2022 had disbursed Rs 212 crore in incentives by June 2025 against 40,000+ proposed jobs (Invest UP), and the first amendment approved on 31 August 2026 adds support for IT parks, IT cities and co-working spaces in Tier-2 cities.

Rule of thumb for a buyer: Noida for scale and specialised talent, Lucknow for government proximity, founder attention and 30 to 50 per cent lower cost, and the smaller UP cities when the client relationship itself is local.

Why these names are not on the list (Newgen, Birlasoft, Tech Mahindra)

• Newgen Software and Birlasoft: Noida and Greater Noida, no Lucknow delivery office as of October 2026.
• Yatiken (Sector 137 Noida), Saturotech (Pune), AppPerfect (Cupertino): appear on copied Lucknow lists; none has a Lucknow office.
• Tech Mahindra: I listed a Rana Pratap Marg office in the first version of this page. In October 2026 the only Lucknow address I can confirm at Raj Chambers belongs to Wipro, and Tech Mahindra's own contact page lists no Lucknow office, so I have removed it until I can verify one.

Red flags when hiring a software company in Lucknow

1. No verifiable office address, or an address that is residential or a shared co-working desk with no company sign.
2. Cannot share CIN or GSTIN. Legitimate Lucknow firms (Websofy, Codingclave, SigmaIT, Jamtech) all have public registrations on MCA or Zauba.
3. Only personal UPI or bank for payments. Agencies run company current accounts.
4. Team photos recycled across websites. A reverse image search takes a minute.
5. Pricing 50 per cent below the ranges above. It usually means hidden costs, scope creep or delivery risk.
6. Refuses client references. Established studios are glad to share two or three.
7. Cannot state full-time versus freelance split. Signals ad-hoc operations.
8. Lists Newgen Lucknow or Birlasoft Lucknow as credentials. Those offices do not exist.

How to engage a software development company in Lucknow

1. Shortlist 3 to 5 firms from the table by project shape and budget.
2. Send the same one-page brief to each: what, why, rough budget, timeline.
3. Take intro calls. You will see quickly who understands the problem.
4. Ask for 2 or 3 case studies from clients your size.
5. Request a paid two-week trial for engagements above Rs 3 lakh.
6. Sign a contract that covers code ownership, payment terms, warranty period and exit.
7. Fix milestones up front: weeks 3, 6 and 9 should each have named deliverables.
