IT companies in Lucknow: the 20 I could verify in October 2026

There are 20 IT companies in Lucknow on this list, and every one of them has an office, a founding year and a team size that I checked against a named source in October 2026. The three big employers are HCLTech (about 4,000 staff at HCL IT City on Sultanpur Road), TCS (1,500 to 2,500 seats at Awadh Park, Gomti Nagar) and Genpact (a 2,000-person plan at Experio, Vibhuti Khand). IBM, InMobi and Deloitte arrived in 2025. The rest are local software studios with 10 to 200 people, plus the three government IT bodies that hand out most of the state's software work.

I have hired from, lost people to, and sub-contracted with several of the firms below, so this is a local view, not a scraped directory. Where a company is here only because a listing site says so, the table says "listing-level" and you should confirm on the company's own careers page before you travel for an interview.

Rows 1 to 6 are backed by the company's own site or a press release. Rows 7 and 8 rest on employee listing sites only. Rows 9 to 16 are backed by GoodFirms, IndiaMART, Craft or the company's own registered address. Rows 17 to 20 are government bodies with official websites. The sources section at the end names each one.

Who I removed from this list, and why

Earlier versions of this page, and most competing lists, name companies that are not actually in Lucknow. I checked each one in October 2026 and cut the following:

• Adobe: Adobe's seventh India office is in Noida (Adobe newsroom, April 2026). There is no Lucknow office.
• Tech Mahindra: no Lucknow location on the company site and no press announcement. Some lists put it on Rana Pratap Marg; I could not confirm that.
• Vidushi Infotech and Tudip Technologies: both are Pune companies.
• Vaibhav Global / Shop LC: Jaipur.
• Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant, Capgemini: no Lucknow office on their location pages. People search "accenture lucknow" every month; the answer is that it does not exist yet.
• Newgen, Birlasoft, Yatiken: Noida companies that appear on Lucknow lists because Uttar Pradesh is one state.

Top IT companies in Lucknow: the six big employers

1. HCLTech, HCL IT City, Sultanpur Road

• Address: SEZ Unit I, IT Block No. 3, Village Kanjehara and Mastemau, Chak Gajaria Farms, Sultanpur Road, Lucknow 226002
• Size: HR Katha reported 4,000 staff in February 2020 with a plan to reach 6,000 by March 2021. HCL has not published a newer Lucknow number, so I use "about 4,000" and treat anything higher as unconfirmed.
• Work: infrastructure management, application development, product engineering, BPO and internal functions for more than a hundred global clients, most of them in the US. The campus covers more than 100 acres and cost about Rs 500 crore; 95 per cent of its staff are from Uttar Pradesh (HR Katha, 2020).
• Freshers: the largest recruiter in the city. Campus hiring, the TechBee programme for Class 12 pass-outs (work plus a sponsored degree), and voice and non-voice support roles at Rs 1.8 to 3 lakh a year.

Best for: large enterprise and government programmes, and anyone who wants a big-company first job in Lucknow. Not for: startups or anything under a multi-crore budget.

2. TCS, Awadh Park, Gomti Nagar

• Address: Tata Tower, Awadh Park, 1/1 Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow 226010. Phone +91 522 6661001.
• Size: the development centre opened in 2009 on 3 acres with 1,500 seats (eGov Elets, May 2009). Branch listings now say 2,500 or more associates. TCS does not publish a Lucknow figure.
• Work: application development and maintenance, BPO, and e-governance projects for Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and the Government of India; banking, retail and government clients abroad.
• Freshers: through the TCS National Qualifier Test and campus drives at Lucknow engineering colleges.

Best for: government bodies and enterprises with multi-crore budgets. Not for: projects under about Rs 50 lakh, or founders who want to speak to the engineer writing the code.

3. Genpact, Experio, Vibhuti Khand

• Address: 6th and 1st Floor, Experio, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow 226010 (Genpact locations page).
• Size: Genpact announced the office in November 2024 with a plan of more than 2,000 employees in the city by the end of 2025 (CXOToday). I have not seen a public figure confirming the number reached.
• Work: finance and accounting, analytics, AI and digital operations for global clients.
• Freshers: yes, mainly commerce and general graduates for process roles, plus analysts.

4. IBM Software Lab, Sushant Golf City

IBM announced a software lab in Lucknow on 8 April 2025 (IBM India newsroom) at Platinum Mall, Sushant Golf City, on the Sultanpur Road side. The lab builds generative and agentic AI products using large and small language models, and the release lists roles for software engineers, application developers, testers and UX designers. No headcount has been published.

5. InMobi, Gomti Nagar

InMobi's press release of 13 August 2025 announced a Lucknow technology centre for generative AI, MLOps, automation and AI infrastructure, with about 500 deep-tech engineers, product and data-science hires planned over the coming years and training partnerships with IIIT Lucknow, IIT Kanpur, IIM Lucknow and MNNIT Allahabad. Hiring posts place the office in Gomti Nagar.

6. Deloitte, CBD, Vibhuti Khand

Deloitte opened its Lucknow office on 21 March 2025, the first Big 4 office in the city (Deloitte India press room). It is a 12,800 sq ft office with seating for 120, covering IT consulting, public-sector advisory, tax and digital transformation, and Deloitte expects 800 to 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in the first phase. It is a consulting firm, not a software house, but its Lucknow work is mostly technology-led so it belongs on this list.

Coforge and Wipro: present, but thinly documented

Coforge (formerly NIIT Technologies) shows up in Glassdoor interview posts from Lucknow candidates in 2025, and Wipro has a Lucknow address on AmbitionBox (4th floor, Raj Chambers, 20/9 Rana Pratap Marg). Neither company lists Lucknow on its own locations page, so I count both as small sales or support offices until one of them says otherwise. Software companies in Lucknow: the local studios (5 to 200 people)

8. SigmaIT Software Designers, Vijay Khand, Gomti Nagar

Running since about 2010, 30 to 50 people, custom software and ERP with a real-estate niche. Listed on IndiaMART and Techjockey with a Gomti Nagar address.

9. Ezeonsoft Technology, Indira Nagar

Founded 2014, about 80 people (Craft, TechBehemoths). Address: Om Plaza, Sector 19, Indira Nagar, Lucknow 226016. Android and web apps, PHP, cloud and SEO; also claims a Noida and Delhi presence.

10. Websofy Software, Sugamau Road

Incorporated 2011, GST registered 2017, 20 to 50 people (IndiaMART). Address: HN-48, Sharan Vihar, Sugamau Road, Lucknow 226016. PHP, Laravel, WordPress, Magento, Android, iOS and .NET; also does payroll software and networking.

11. Jamtech Technologies, Aliganj

Established 2014, address CP-43, 1st Floor, The Engineering Tower, Sector B, Aliganj, Lucknow 226021 (The Manifest, YourStory). Web, mobile and custom software; employee reviews single it out as a fresher-friendly place to start.

12. IPH Technologies, Chowk

Founded 2013, 50+ people, address Khun Khun Ji Road, Chowk, 2nd Floor ICICI Building (DesignRush, The Manifest). GoodFirms ranks it first for software development in Lucknow with 4.9 stars from 6 verified reviews at USD 25 to 49 an hour. Mobile apps, games, web and digital marketing, with a US sales presence.

13. AppWorks Technologies, Vibhuti Khand

Established 2017, 10 to 49 people, address 505, 5th Floor, Parsvnath Plaza, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar 226010 (GoodFirms). Mobile apps, ERP simplification and enterprise applications on Laravel, React and Node.js; USD 25 to 49 an hour.

14. InventicSoft IT Solutions

A new entrant, founded 2025, that GoodFirms ranks first for ASP.NET work in Lucknow (5.0 stars, 7 reviews, under USD 25 an hour). Small team; I include it because the reviews are verified, but ask for live URLs before you sign.

Government IT bodies in Lucknow: UPLC, UPDESCO, NIC and STPI

Most state software work in Uttar Pradesh is routed through three Lucknow offices, which makes them both employers and the customers behind many local studio contracts.

• UP Electronics Corporation (UPLC), 10 Ashok Marg. Incorporated 30 March 1974, wholly owned by the UP government, and the nodal agency for IT consultancy, software development, hardware procurement and training for state departments (upite.gov.in).
• UPDESCO, promoted in March 1977 by the Department of Planning, now under the Department of IT and Electronics; runs e-governance projects and empanels vendors.
• NIC UP State Unit, 3rd Floor, Yojana Bhawan, 9 Sarojini Naidu Marg, Lucknow 226001 (up.nic.in). Builds and hosts central and state government portals; hires through NIC and NICSI.
• STPI Lucknow, next to Gomti Barrage, Gomti Nagar 226010. Set up 25 December 2001 under MeitY; offers incubation, co-location and statutory services to IT and ITES units and startups (stpi.in).

For a studio, getting empanelled with UPLC or UPDESCO is the usual route to government work. For a fresher, these bodies hire mostly on contract through the vendors they empanel.

IT companies in Lucknow for freshers: who hires and what they pay

If you are a 2026 graduate in Lucknow, this is the realistic order of options.

1. HCLTech hires the most. Three routes: campus drives at Lucknow colleges, the TechBee programme (Class 12 pass with 60 per cent, a year of training, then work plus a sponsored degree), and support roles that Freshers Hunt lists at Rs 1.8 to 3 lakh a year.
2. TCS hires through the TCS NQT; set the location preference to Lucknow and expect the first posting to be anywhere in India.
3. Genpact takes BCom, BBA and BA graduates for finance, accounting and analytics process roles, which is the widest door for non-engineers.
4. InMobi and IBM want AI, MLOps and backend skills; InMobi has promised internships with IIIT Lucknow, IIT Kanpur and IIM Lucknow.
5. Deloitte runs campus hiring for consulting and technology analysts.
6. Local studios (Jamtech, Ezeonsoft, SigmaIT, IPH, AppWorks, Websofy) hire one to five freshers at a time, usually after a paid or unpaid internship. You learn the full stack faster than at an MNC and earn less at first.

Pay: PayScale (2026) puts the average early-career software developer in Lucknow at Rs 3.2 to 4.9 lakh a year, with experienced early-career developers in a Rs 3.7 to 8 lakh range. Local studios typically pay Rs 15,000 to 25,000 a month in year one. MNCs pay 20 to 30 per cent more for the same title but hire in fixed batches.

What gets you hired at a local studio: a GitHub profile with two finished projects (one deployed), a working knowledge of one backend framework, and the ability to explain a bug you fixed. We reject more candidates for a blank GitHub than for weak marks.

Upcoming IT companies in Lucknow: IT City plots, AI City and new centres

The question "upcoming IT companies in Lucknow" has a concrete answer in 2026, and most of it is land.

• UPAVP IT City, Vrindavan Yojana: the UP Avas Vikas Parishad is developing a 258-acre IT City in Sector 15 of Vrindavan Yojana and offered seven plots to companies in April 2026. Commissioner Balkar Singh said at least a dozen companies had shown interest. Unlike SEZs on the outskirts, this sits inside the city next to housing, schools and hospitals.
• AI City-cum-Business Park: the UP Housing and Development Board floated a request for proposal in 2026 to select a master developer for an AI City-cum-Business Park at the Vrindavan Yojana IT City, estimated at about Rs 1,400 crore, with bids closing in July 2026. Amar Ujala reported in April 2026 that this will be the capital's first AI City.
• LDA IT City, near New Jail Road: a separate Lucknow Development Authority project that complements the UPAVP one.
• Sify data centre, HCL IT City: DataCenterMap lists a Sify Lucknow facility inside HCL IT City on Sultanpur Road as under construction.
• Already landed in 2025: Genpact, Deloitte, IBM and InMobi, covered above.

What I have not found: a sourced announcement from Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant or Capgemini for Lucknow. When one appears, this page will carry it with a link.

Where the IT offices in Lucknow are: three clusters

• Gomti Nagar (Vibhuti Khand, Vikrant Khand, Vijay Khand): TCS, Genpact, Deloitte, InMobi, AppWorks, SigmaIT, STPI and most co-working spaces. This is the central business district and where most IT offices in Lucknow sit.
• Sultanpur Road and Sushant Golf City: HCL IT City (the SEZ), IBM's lab at Platinum Mall, and the Sify data centre site. Twelve kilometres from Gomti Nagar; plan the commute before you accept an offer.
• Indira Nagar, Aliganj and the old city: the local studio belt. Ezeonsoft and Websofy in Indira Nagar, Jamtech in Aliganj, IPH in Chowk, Codingclave in Vrindavan Colony to the south.

Top 10 MNC companies in Lucknow: the short version

People who search "top 10 MNC companies in Lucknow" usually want every sector, not just IT. The IT and consulting MNCs with a documented Lucknow office are HCLTech, TCS, Genpact, IBM, InMobi and Deloitte. Outside IT the big names are Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland (EV plant, January 2026), BrahMos Aerospace, HAL, SIDBI and Lulu Group. How to choose an IT company in Lucknow for your project

If you are a business hiring a vendor rather than a graduate hunting a job, use this filter.

1. Budget sets the tier. Under Rs 50 lakh, the MNCs will not quote; shortlist local studios. Over Rs 1 crore with a government or enterprise buyer, go to TCS or HCLTech.
2. Ask for live URLs and app-store links, not screenshots. Any studio that has been around five years has 10 to 20 live projects.
3. Check reviews in three places: Google Business for local reputation, Clutch or GoodFirms for B2B projects, and LinkedIn for whether the team size matches the claim. A "100-person company" with four LinkedIn employees is a red flag.
4. Take a 30-minute call and listen for whether they ask about your business or only talk about their tech stack.
5. Read the contract: you own the source code on payment, milestones tie to deliverables not dates, change requests have a price, and there is a warranty period.

• A Rs 10,000 quote for a custom app. It is a template, a subcontract, or an upsell waiting to happen.
• No live portfolio, only Figma files.
• A guaranteed Google ranking or revenue figure.
• No written contract.
• Refusal to name the people who will build your project.
