We have an honest 90-day check-in built into every engagement. At day 90 we review: did we ship the agreed content? (we always do — that's our discipline). Are rankings moving? (for long-tail commercial keywords, yes; for competitive head terms, usually no at 90 days — that takes 6-9 months). Is the traffic converting? (if not, the issue is usually the offer, the landing page, or sales follow-up, not the traffic). If at day 90 we've shipped everything and rankings are flat with zero movement, we either pivot strategy or refund the last month and part ways.
