What Affects Website Cost in Bangalore
Understanding these factors helps you budget accurately and avoid surprises.
Number of Pages
A 5-page business website costs less than a 50-page portal. More pages = more content, design, and development time.
Design Complexity
Template-based designs are cheaper. Custom UI/UX with animations and unique layouts costs more but converts better.
Features & Functionality
A static website is cheaper than one with booking systems, payment gateways, user accounts, or admin dashboards.
E-Commerce vs Informational
Online stores need product management, cart, payments, shipping — adding ₹30,000–₹2,00,000 to the base cost.
CMS & Admin Panel
If you need to update content yourself, a CMS like WordPress or a custom admin panel adds to the cost.
SEO & Speed Optimization
Basic SEO is included. Advanced SEO with keyword research, content strategy, and technical optimization is extra.
Maintenance & Support
Most agencies include 1-3 months free support. Ongoing maintenance plans range from ₹2,000–₹10,000/month.
Technology Stack
WordPress is cheaper. React/Next.js costs more but delivers better performance, SEO, and scalability.

Pricing a website for a Bengaluru buyer: notes from Lucknow
Checked
Bengaluru is the city where my price table gets the hardest questions. The buyer has usually spoken to two agencies in Koramangala or Indiranagar already and arrives with numbers. Here is what I tell them.
Who in Bengaluru buys websites, and what they buy
Three very different buyers share this page.
The first is the startup. In Bengaluru district alone, DPIIT had recognised 13,649 startups by 31 October 2024, according to a Lok Sabha reply quoted by Inc42. The state is pushing for more: the Karnataka Startup Policy 2025-2030 approved in November 2025 puts Rs 518.27 crore behind a target of 25,000 new startups, with up to 10,000 of them outside Bengaluru. These buyers want a landing page this week and a product site in three months. They pay the Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 landing-page band first and come back for the Rs 25,000 to Rs 1,00,000 business site once funding or revenue shows up.
The second is the manufacturer. Peenya, laid out in the late 1970s, is one of the biggest industrial areas in Asia. The owners who call me from there run small and mid-sized engineering units. A die-casting unit in Peenya does not want animations. It wants a catalogue site with a downloadable spec sheet, an enquiry form that reaches the owner on WhatsApp, and a page that loads on a shop-floor phone. That is a Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 job, and I say so.
The third is the trader. Chickpet is known for its cloth shops and wholesale business, and Avenue Road beside it for garments, textiles and jewellery. For them the question is almost always e-commerce versus a WhatsApp catalogue. If they already take orders over WhatsApp and UPI, a Rs 50,000 e-commerce build is often the wrong first step. A Rs 17,500 WordPress site with a product gallery and a click-to-WhatsApp button does the real job.
| Buyer | Where they sit | What I usually quote |
|---|---|---|
| Early-stage startup | Koramangala, HSR, Indiranagar | Landing page, Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 |
| Small manufacturer | Peenya, Bommasandra, Jigani | Catalogue site, Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 |
| Wholesale trader | Chickpet, Avenue Road | WordPress plus WhatsApp, Rs 17,500 to Rs 35,000 |
Payments: build for UPI first
Karnataka recorded 3.7 billion UPI transactions between April and June 2025, second only to Maharashtra, with a 5.44 percent share of the national total in June 2025 (Medianama, from NPCI data). A Bengaluru store that leads with card entry loses sales. I set up Razorpay or PhonePe with UPI intent as the default and cards second. Gateway setup is included in my e-commerce price; the gateway's own percentage is on top, and I state it before you sign.
Compliance that touches the website brief
Trade licence renewals went online-only for 2025-26, renewable for one to five years, with a 25 percent penalty in March and 100 percent from April. The Greater Bengaluru Authority replaced BBMP on 15 May 2025, and the split into five city corporations was notified on 1 October 2025. None of this needs a website, but a shop owner who has just lost an afternoon to the renewal portal wants a fixed price and a date, not a range.
The 60 percent Kannada nameboard rule does not apply online; see the FAQ below, because I am asked every month.
Remote from Lucknow, or a local agency?
We have built from Lucknow since 2017, 200 plus projects, 4.9 stars on Google across 76 reviews. Bengaluru is the same time zone and the whole project runs on WhatsApp and a weekly call. Where a local agency is genuinely better: you need someone in the room for a government tender presentation, you want a photographer and copywriter to visit the factory, or you need on-site training for twenty staff. For a five to fifteen page site, an e-commerce store or a product landing page, location adds nothing but rent to the invoice.
Prices on this page include GST. Send me your GSTIN with the enquiry and the quote will show IGST separately so your accountant can claim it.
Questions we get from Pricing a website for a Bengaluru buyer: notes from Lucknow buyers
- I am applying for a Karnataka ELEVATE grant. Does the website need to be live before I apply?
- No, and I would not spend grant-level money on it. ELEVATE gives a one-time grant of up to Rs 50 lakh, and the 2025 round funded 146 startups with Rs 38.85 crore between them. What reviewers look at is the product and the team, not the site. A clean landing page at Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 with your pitch, a demo video and a founder contact form is enough to look credible while you apply. Build the full product site after the grant lands, when you know what you are actually selling. I have seen founders burn Rs 1.5 lakh on a brochure site before the idea even settled.
- Can a Bengaluru business claim GST input credit on a website built by a Lucknow company?
- Yes, as long as you give me your Karnataka GSTIN at the time of quoting. Codingclave Development LLP is registered in Uttar Pradesh, so an invoice to a Bengaluru client is an interstate supply and carries 18 percent IGST instead of CGST plus SGST. The credit shows up in your GSTR-2B like any other purchase. The only cases where this does not work are unregistered sole proprietors, who cannot claim credit from anyone, and composition dealers. If you are one of those, the 18 percent is a real cost and I will say so in the quote rather than hide it in a bundled price.
- Do I need a Kannada version of my website to comply with the 60 percent Kannada rule in Bengaluru?
- No. The Kannada Language Comprehensive Development rules that BBMP enforced in February 2024 apply to physical nameboards, where Kannada must take 60 percent of the space. Around 51,000 shops received notices and the penalty was a fine or suspension of the trade licence. Websites are not covered. That said, if your customers are in Jayanagar, Malleshwaram or the outer districts, a Kannada page for your services and contact details does convert better. I quote it as roughly 15 to 20 percent on top of the base site, mostly for translation and testing, since the technical part is just a second language route.
