MyGate Alternatives 2026: 6 Apps Compared + How to Switch
Founder & Lead Developer, Codingclave · 200+ projects since 2017
The short answer on MyGate alternatives in 2026
For most Indian societies, the realistic MyGate alternatives are NoBrokerHood (closest gate workflow), ApnaComplex (the only published starting price we could verify), ADDA (accounting-led) and owned software you pay for once. Newer players such as Servizing and GateKeeperZero are worth a quote. Pick on three things: the gate workflow at rush hour, billing your treasurer trusts, and a three-year price in writing.
Disclosure: I run Codingclave, which makes one of the options below. It is marked "(ours)" wherever it appears.
Quick answer:
- Want a published price? ApnaComplex lists plans from ₹499/month, depending on unit count, with a 30-day free trial for complexes with an active association.
- Want the closest like-for-like gate app? NoBrokerHood: passcodes for visitors and deliveries, a Guard App, and onboarding it says takes about 2 days.
- Want to own the software? Our Society Management Software is ₹29,999 one-time (self-hosted, with source code) or ₹2,999/month as SaaS.
- Planning the move? Budget 1–2 months of parallel running, whatever go-live date a vendor promises.
Choosing a society app for the first time? Start with our society management app feature checklist or the broader roundup of 10 society apps for 2026. This post is for committees already on MyGate who want to know what leaving involves.
Why committees look beyond MyGate
MyGate's App Store listing claims over 4 million households across 30+ cities in India, and your guards already know it. These are the reasons for leaving that we could verify publicly.
You can't see the price until you ask
MyGate publishes no society subscription price, and major Indian software directories list none. Per-flat figures on blogs aren't sourced, so we don't repeat them. Get your quote in writing, with renewal terms.
Ads for residents, and a paid Premium to remove them
The MyGate App Store listing sells an optional resident Premium at $0.99/month or $10.49/year on the US store. The developer says upgrading gives an ad-free experience, so the free tier carries ads. The Indian price wasn't shown; residents can check in the app.
Privacy and control of the data
ThePrint's April 2025 ground report from Gurugram covered MyGate, NoBrokerHood, ADDA and Gatekeeper. These apps log entries and exits, amenity use, and domestic workers' names, phone numbers, photos and biometrics. Residents said neighbours could see details of their visitors, some reported more spam calls, and a group of 20 households complained of alleged privacy breaches and inconsistent visitor logs. These are allegations, not proven breaches.
MyGate's CEO told ThePrint the company is not the custodian of the data: it belongs to the RWAs and sits on AWS cloud servers. Both companies claim ISO 27001 certification; NoBrokerHood also cites GDPR. The practical point for a committee: you should be able to get all of it back. The switching checklist below builds on that.
When staying on MyGate is the right call
Moving costs guard time, resident patience and treasurer hours. Stay, at least for now, if:
- Guards are fluent with it. Retraining every shift is the hardest part of any move.
- Most flats already approve visitors and pay dues in the app. Adoption you already have is worth money.
- An audit or AGM is close. Don't move the ledger mid-year if you can avoid it.
- Your only complaint is price. Take two written quotes into the renewal discussion and ask MyGate whether a multi-year term lowers the price. If the gap closes, you save money without retraining a single guard; if not, your comparison is ready.
MyGate competitors in India compared
Last verified: September 2026. "Not published" means no public price, so ask for a written quote. Competitor rows come from their public pages; our row comes from our own product data, so test every row, ours included, in a demo.
| App | Gate and visitor security | Billing and resident app | Price and model |
|---|---|---|---|
| MyGate (baseline) | One-tap approval, 'Leave at Gate', daily-help management | Maintenance payments, RWA accounting; free app with ads, paid Premium | Quote; not published |
| NoBrokerHood | Visitor and delivery passcodes, Guard App, staff monitoring | Accounting, billing, utility payments | Limited free access plus unpublished subscription |
| ADDA | Gate app (named by ThePrint) | Accounting product listed as ADDA ERP | On adda.io but not readable by us; confirm |
| ApnaComplex | Gatekeeper, RFID-based Vehicle Sentry | Society billing and accounting; mobile app | From ₹499/month by unit count |
| Servizing | Pitched as a full MyGate replacement | No ads; migrates billing history (vendor claims) | Flat rate (vendor claim); not published |
| GateKeeperZero | Not evaluated | Not evaluated | ₹9/flat advertised; confirm |
| Codingclave (ours) | Pre-approval, delivery OTP pass, daily-help attendance, real-time entry-exit log | Bills, reminders, UPI, defaulters, audit-ready accounts; Android and iOS app | ₹29,999 once or ₹2,999/month |
No vendor publishes where societies switch to, so treat any "most popular alternative" claim as marketing.
NoBrokerHood
The most direct like-for-like. Its own FAQ post (November 2024) says users get limited access free and pay "a small subscription fee" for the full suite, with no price published. It lists pre-authorised passcodes for visitors and deliveries, a Guard App, staff monitoring, complaints, amenities, accounting, utility payments and notices. It says onboarding takes about two days, including guard training, without expensive hardware.
- Good fit: societies that want a MyGate-style gate flow with minimal retraining.
- Check: intercom isn't mentioned in that post, so ask how guards reach unresponsive residents. Ask what the free tier leaves out and who pays for the full suite: the society or residents.
ADDA
ThePrint names ADDA among the gate apps used in Gurugram, and directories list its accounting product, ADDA ERP, as "Price On Request". ADDA does have a pricing page, but its prices load dynamically and we couldn't read them, so confirm there or ask for a quote.
- Good fit: RWAs where accounts and the audit trail matter as much as the gate.
- Check: whether the gate app and the ERP are one subscription or two, and what residents see in the app.
ApnaComplex
Its official pricing page says pricing depends on the number of residential units and starts from ₹499 per month for full-featured access. Complexes with an active owners' association get a 30-day no-obligation trial. The free version is for upcoming complexes whose association isn't formed yet, so a handed-over society with an RWA shouldn't expect it. Features include billing and accounting, Gatekeeper (visitor management) and RFID-based Vehicle Sentry.
- Good fit: cost-conscious societies, and those with a parking or vehicle problem.
- Check: the price at your unit count, whether GST is extra (the page doesn't say), and whether Vehicle Sentry needs RFID tags and readers you must buy.
Servizing
Servizing markets itself directly as a MyGate alternative. By its own account it is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, "DPDP & GDPR aligned", ad-free and flat-rate, with free onboarding. It says it moves residents, vehicles, billing history and complaints from MyGate or spreadsheets at no charge, typically in 3–7 days including staff training. It also claims to be 30–50% cheaper than MyGate but publishes no price, so test that claim against a written quote.
- Good fit: committees whose biggest worry is moving the data.
- Check: get the migration scope in writing and ask for a reference society you can call.
GateKeeperZero
Advertised price only; not evaluated. Its homepage title advertises "Society Management at ₹9/flat", seen only in search results. Ask whether that is monthly, which modules it covers and whether GST is extra.
Codingclave Society Management Software (ours)
Codingclave Society Management Software comes in two plans, both with every module:
- One-time licence, ₹29,999: self-hosted on the society's server, source code access, free installation and setup, onboarding and training, and 3 months of free support.
- SaaS, ₹2,999/month: cloud hosted, cancel anytime, automatic updates and backups, free setup and staff training, priority WhatsApp and phone support.
It also covers complaints, notices and polls (by app, SMS and WhatsApp), parking, a resident directory and a balance sheet.
- Where it falls short: no intercom, cab-entry workflow, boom-barrier or biometric integration in the ready product. Those need a custom build; our society app development cost guide explains what that involves.
- Guard side: our product data describes the gate functions above but not a separate guard device mode, so look at the guard's screens in the demo on a phone before deciding.
- Data import: the plans list free setup, onboarding and training; importing a MyGate export isn't listed. Send us a sample file and we will tell you in writing whether it is covered or quoted separately.
- Good fit: committees that want a fixed cost and their data on a server they control.
Other directory-listed options
Techjockey's MyGate-alternatives directory also lists SocietyKit, Society Notebook, SocietyRun, Paperbit, Society Kingdom, AppSociety and others. Most show "Price On Request", and the few figures shown (Paperbit at ₹120/year, for example) aren't vendor-confirmed. They can suit small societies that mainly need billing; test the gate side hardest.

Gate security: what to test in a 30-minute demo
Ask each vendor to run these live on a guard's phone at your gate, not on the sales laptop.
| Gate workflow | What to test | Listed publicly by |
|---|---|---|
| Visitor pre-approval | Guard verifies a pre-approved guest in one step | MyGate, NoBrokerHood, Codingclave |
| Deliveries | Resident is out: leave-at-gate or OTP gate pass | MyGate, NoBrokerHood, Codingclave |
| Cabs and regular visitors | Repeat entry without a fresh approval each time | Not in the listings we checked; test live |
| Daily help | Check-in, attendance and who can see it | MyGate, NoBrokerHood, Codingclave |
| Weak network | Guard phone in airplane mode: does it log and sync later? | Not in the listings we checked; test live |
| Resident not responding | Call, intercom or escalation to the committee? | Not in the listings we checked; ask |
| Vehicles | Resident vehicle list and visitor vehicle log | ApnaComplex (Vehicle Sentry) |
| Log privacy | Can neighbours see who visited a flat? | Ask; this was ThePrint's complaint |
On public listings, MyGate, NoBrokerHood and ours cover the most rows, and ApnaComplex adds a vehicle module. No listing settles the three rows that cause most gate trouble: cabs, weak network and unanswered approvals. Test those live.
A common demo mistake we see is testing on office Wi-Fi. The gate often has the weakest signal on the property, so run the demo there, ideally during the evening delivery rush.
Resident app and billing: the half that decides adoption
Residents open the app to approve visitors and pay maintenance. If paying is clumsy, adoption stalls. In any demo, check that:
- Bills generate correctly for your structure, including arrears, late fees and different flat sizes.
- Reminders go out automatically, and the treasurer can print a defaulter list for the AGM.
- UPI payments reconcile against the flat's ledger without manual entry.
- Residents can download receipts, and nobody sees a neighbour's dues or visitors.
- The resident app shows no ads. We could verify this only for MyGate (ads in the free tier) and Servizing (no ads, by its own claim). For NoBrokerHood, ADDA and ApnaComplex, get the answer in writing.
If billing is the main reason you're leaving, our society maintenance app guide goes deeper on the treasurer's side: how a bill is built, the ₹7,500 GST test, late interest and the Tally export your CA needs.
Data protection: questions to ask every vendor
Send each shortlisted vendor these questions, us included, and compare the written answers:
- Where is the data stored, and in which country?
- Which of your staff can access our data, and is that access logged?
- Who inside the society sees what? Can the committee restrict visitor logs and dues to the flat concerned?
- How long do you keep visitor logs and domestic-worker records, and can we set that period?
- On exit, what do we get and in what format, and will you confirm deletion in writing?
- If there is a breach, how and when will you tell us?
- Which certifications do you hold? MyGate and NoBrokerHood claim ISO 27001, and Servizing claims ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Ask for the certificate scope, not just the logo.
What will it really cost? Four pricing models explained
Last verified: September 2026.
| Pricing model | Who uses it | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Quote-based SaaS | MyGate, most directory-listed apps | Per flat or per society? Renewal increases? |
| Freemium plus subscription | NoBrokerHood; MyGate's resident Premium | What's free, and who pays: society or residents |
| Published "from" price | ApnaComplex (₹499/month), GateKeeperZero (₹9/flat advertised) | Price at your unit count; GST |
| One-time licence or flat SaaS | Codingclave (₹29,999 or ₹2,999/month) | Hosting and support after the free period |
| Not readable | ADDA (pricing page loads dynamically) | Confirm on adda.io or get a quote |
Use one formula for every quote:
3-year cost = (monthly fee × 36) + setup or migration + gate devices + hosting (if self-hosted) + GST as quoted
For a per-flat quote, the monthly fee is the rate times your number of flats. In a 200-flat society, each ₹1 per flat per month comes to ₹7,200 over three years.
Worked example (our product only). Excludes GST, SMS and WhatsApp message charges, and gate devices.
- SaaS: ₹2,999 × 36 = ₹1,07,964 over three years, with hosting, updates and backups included.
- Licence: ₹29,999 once, plus server hosting (get a quote from your IT vendor or cloud provider) and any support after the 3 free months. Before those costs, the licence equals about 10 months of SaaS fees.
A one-page scorecard for the committee meeting
Copy this table into a sheet, score each item 0 (missing), 1 (partly) or 2 (works well in the live test), and bring it to the meeting.
| Check | MyGate (current) | Vendor A | Vendor B | Vendor C |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 gate tests from the demo table (max 16) | ||||
| Bills, reminders, UPI reconciliation, defaulter list, receipts (max 10) | ||||
| Written answers to the 7 data-protection questions (max 14) | ||||
| Data import and export terms in writing (max 2) | ||||
| 3-year cost from the formula (₹) |
Compare cost only between vendors whose scores are close.
Switching checklist: how to leave MyGate step by step
MyGate's CEO has said publicly that society data belongs to the RWA (ThePrint, 2025). Base your export request on that.
Step 1: Before you give notice
- Read the contract: term, notice period, auto-renewal and any data-return clause.
- Pass a committee resolution naming the new vendor, the cut-over date and the member who owns the migration.
- Email a dated export request for flats and owners, tenants, vehicles, daily help mapped to flats, the dues ledger with opening balances, receipts, complaints and any visitor logs you want to keep, in CSV or Excel.
- Don't give notice or pay the renewal until you have the files and have checked them.
If the export is slow or incomplete: reply in writing, quoting the contract's data-return clause (if there is one), attaching the committee resolution, and referring to the CEO's public statement that the data belongs to RWAs. Set a deadline. Meanwhile, rebuild the flat list and opening balances from society registers and the treasurer's books.
Residents with MyGate Premium: Premium is bought by residents in the app, not by the society. Tell them before cut-over to turn off auto-renewal in their App Store or Google Play subscriptions; any refund is between the resident, the store and MyGate.
Step 2: Train the guards
- Train on shift, at the gate, on the actual device, including night and relief guards.
- Print a one-page card in the guards' language: approvals, deliveries, daily help, and what to do if the app is down.
- Keep the paper register as a fallback for the first week.
Step 3: Onboard residents
- Roll out tower by tower, not all at once.
- Send a WhatsApp message with the download link and a short how-to.
- Run a weekend help desk for elderly owners, and onboard tenants through their owners.
- Start with visitor approval and maintenance payment; add complaints, polls and amenities later. Our society app implementation guide covers adoption in more detail.
Step 4: Parallel run and cut-over
- Run both apps side by side for 1–2 months. Vendor timelines of 2 days (NoBrokerHood) or 3–7 days (Servizing) are go-live dates; adoption takes longer.
- Have the treasurer verify opening balances flat by flat before the first bill.
- Complete one full billing cycle in the new app and reconcile collections.
- Switch off the old app, request deletion in writing if you want it, and announce the date on every notice board.
The owned option: when self-hosted society software makes sense
Self-hosted means the software runs on a server the society controls, such as a cloud server in the society's name. You pay once and keep the data, but you take on jobs a SaaS vendor normally does.
What the society becomes responsible for:
- Server hosting and its monthly bill.
- Security updates to the server, SSL certificates and uptime.
- Backups, and testing that a backup actually restores.
- Handling a breach: telling residents and domestic workers, and fixing the cause.
Ask us in writing before you buy: how the Android and iOS resident apps are connected to your server, which software updates are included after purchase, and what support costs after the 3 free months. Those answers belong in your 3-year cost.
It suits you if your monthly SaaS bill is large enough for a one-time cost to pay back quickly, the committee wants the source code and records that survive committee changes, and a resident or local IT vendor will own the server.
It doesn't suit you if nobody will own the server (pick SaaS, ours at ₹2,999/month or anyone else's), or you need intercom or boom-barrier integration out of the box.
Try it yourself: the live society software demo is a 10-minute self-guided tour of visitor management, maintenance billing and the resident app. Login details are shared on WhatsApp from the demo page.

Frequently asked questions
The main MyGate competitors in India are NoBrokerHood, ADDA and ApnaComplex, followed by smaller apps such as Servizing and GateKeeperZero, plus directory-listed tools like SocietyKit and Society Notebook. Owned software, such as Codingclave's ₹29,999 self-hosted licence, is a separate route. Of the big names, only ApnaComplex publishes a starting price we could verify (from ₹499/month, depending on unit count). MyGate is quote-based, NoBrokerHood offers limited free access plus an unpublished subscription fee, and ADDA's pricing page could not be read, so confirm it on adda.io.
Partly. NoBrokerHood gives limited access free and charges 'a small subscription fee' for the full suite. ApnaComplex offers a free version only for upcoming complexes whose owners' association is not formed yet, and a 30-day free trial for complexes with an active association; paid plans start from ₹499/month depending on unit count. GateKeeperZero advertises ₹9/flat, which you should confirm. If you would rather stop paying every month, Codingclave's society software (we make it) costs ₹29,999 one-time, self-hosted, or ₹2,999/month as SaaS.
The best security app for a society gate is the one your guards can run quickly on a weak network. Shortlist apps that publicly list visitor pre-approval, delivery passes or 'leave at gate', daily-help attendance and a real-time entry-exit log; MyGate, NoBrokerHood and Codingclave's software list most of these. Then test what listings don't show: repeat entry for cabs, logging when the network drops, and how a guard reaches a resident who doesn't answer in the app. Run that test at your own gate, not on office Wi-Fi.
You should be able to. MyGate's CEO told ThePrint in April 2025 that the company is not the custodian of the data and that it belongs to the RWAs. Send a dated, written export request before you give notice, asking for flats, owners, tenants, vehicles, daily help, the dues ledger with opening balances, receipts and complaints in CSV or Excel. Check the files before you sign with a new vendor, and ask for written confirmation of deletion after cut-over if the committee wants it.
Vendors quote days. NoBrokerHood says a society can be onboarded within two days, and Servizing says a typical move from MyGate takes 3 to 7 days including staff training. That is go-live, not adoption. Plan for 1 to 2 months of running the old and new systems side by side, so guards on every shift are trained, residents are onboarded tower by tower, and the treasurer has verified opening balances before the first bill goes out of the new app.
Usually not for the app itself. An app-based gate needs a phone or tablet at each gate, a data connection with a backup, and reliable power; NoBrokerHood, for example, says its onboarding needs no expensive hardware. Hardware only becomes a project if you want intercom, boom barriers, RFID vehicle tags or biometric readers linked to the app. Price those as separate integration work, and ask each vendor which devices it has already integrated, in writing, before you assume they carry over from MyGate.
