Salon Booking App Development Cost Dubai 2026: AED 12K-50K
Founder & Lead Developer, Codingclave · 200+ projects since 2017
What a salon booking app costs in Dubai, tier by tier
A salon booking app for a Dubai salon or spa costs AED 12,000 to AED 50,000 from our team and takes 8 to 12 weeks to reach both app stores. That is the band we publish on our UAE salon booking app page, and it sits inside the AED 12,000-75,000 mobile app row on our UAE rate card.
I am Ashish Sharma, founder of Codingclave. We have shipped 200+ projects since 2017 from Lucknow, and our UAE clients work with us remotely over WhatsApp. This post is the long version of that price: what each tier includes, what Fresha costs you, which features earn their keep, and when you should not build an app at all.
Every figure below is a one-time build fee, billed from India in USD or INR by bank transfer, with no UAE VAT on our invoice. If your salon is VAT-registered, your accountant handles imported services on your own return. The AED figures are approximate conversions.
| Tier | What you get | Our quote (AED) | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Booking-only app | Services and prices, stylist calendars, slot booking, push reminders, client profiles, admin panel, iOS and Android from one Flutter codebase | 12,000-20,000 | 8-9 weeks |
| 2. Deposits and reminders | Everything in tier 1 plus card deposits via PayTabs or Telr, WhatsApp reminders, packages and prepaid bundles, cancellation rules, Arabic and English | 20,000-32,000 | 9-11 weeks |
| 3. Multi-branch with payroll and loyalty | Everything in tier 2 plus branch switching, stylist commission and payroll reports, loyalty wallet, home-service slots, marketing pushes, owner dashboard | 32,000-50,000 | 11-12 weeks |
The tier boundaries are ours, not an industry standard. The split that matters is between tier 1 and tier 2, because deposits and reminders are what change a salon's cash flow. If you are still deciding between a web booking page and an app, read our salon and spa website page first. A booking website is a fraction of the cost and is often the right first step.
Why other Dubai guides start at AED 50,000
When we searched this topic in October 2026, one Dubai agency's "AI salon booking app" page added up to AED 125,000-295,000, and the general Dubai app-cost guides on page one run from AED 25,000 to AED 500,000. Those numbers are not wrong for what they describe. They describe something you probably do not need.
Three things inflate them. First, two native codebases: a Swift app for iOS and a Kotlin app for Android, each built and tested separately, which roughly doubles the engineering hours. Second, enterprise scope: a client app, a stylist app, a receptionist tablet app and a web admin, each designed from scratch. Third, overhead. A Dubai office, local salaries and account managers are paid for by every quote.
We build one Flutter codebase for both stores, keep the stylist and admin tools inside a responsive web panel, and work from Lucknow. That is the whole gap. Our wider Dubai app cost post covers larger consumer and enterprise apps, which is why its ranges start higher. The rate card on the mobile app cost guide for Dubai is the band a salon app sits in.
Fresha vs salon booking app development in Dubai
Most Dubai salons asking about an app are already on Fresha, so this is the comparison that matters. If you are searching for a Fresha alternative in Dubai, it depends on your chair count and your marketplace fees.
One caveat before the numbers. Fresha prices by country, and we could not open the UAE version of its pricing page from India on 3 October 2026. The figures below are Fresha's US list prices as reported by Pabau and Costbench in 2026, converted at the UAE Central Bank's 3.6725 peg. They are here to show how the maths works. Your UAE page may show a different plan structure, so log in and check your own invoice before you decide.
| Cost line | Fresha (US list, for illustration) | Your own app |
|---|---|---|
| Software | Independent plan USD 19.95 a month (approx. AED 73) or Team plan USD 14.95 per bookable team member a month (approx. AED 55) | AED 12,000-50,000 one-time build |
| New clients | A fee on each new client who found you on the Fresha marketplace, charged on the value of their first completed appointment, per Fresha's help centre. Costbench reports the US rate as 20% with a USD 6 minimum. The UAE rate is on Fresha's UAE pricing page | Nothing per client; you pay for Instagram ads or Google instead |
| Card processing | Fresha's own processing, 2-3% by card type per Costbench | Your gateway's published rate, for example Telr from 2.25% plus AED 0.50 |
| Running cost | Included | AED 250-700 a month (our estimate, detail below) |
| Client list and brand | Fresha's app, Fresha's marketplace, your data exportable | Your brand on the home screen, your database |
Run it for a four-stylist salon on those US figures. The Team plan comes to about AED 220 a month, or AED 5,300 over two years. If the marketplace brings you 15 new clients a month at an average first visit of AED 200, and the fee is 20%, the new-client fees are AED 600 a month, or AED 14,400 over two years. That is roughly AED 20,000 over two years before card fees, and it rises with every new client, which is exactly when a growing salon feels it. Swap in your UAE rates and the shape of the answer does not change, only the crossover point.
A tier 2 custom app is AED 20,000-32,000 up front plus around AED 12,000 in running costs over the same two years. For one salon, Fresha is cheaper or roughly equal in the first two years. For two or more branches, or a salon whose marketplace fees have passed a few hundred dirhams a month, the custom app pays back inside year two and you own the client list. Fresha is also a good acquisition channel, and nothing stops you keeping a marketplace listing while your regulars book in your own app.
The features that drive rebookings, and the ones that do not
After building booking systems for salons, clinics and gyms, the pattern is consistent. Five features move the numbers.
A calendar per stylist, so the client books Rania on Thursday at 6, not "a slot". Deposits on anything over a threshold you choose, because in the booking systems we have built, a small deposit such as AED 50 cuts no-shows sharply. WhatsApp reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before, since Dubai clients read WhatsApp and ignore push. One-tap rebooking of the last service, which is where most repeat revenue comes from. Packages and prepaid bundles, which lock in the next five visits and smooth cash flow in summer.
Three features are Dubai-specific and worth paying for: Arabic and English with a proper right-to-left layout; a ladies-only privacy mode that hides staff photos and client lists from anyone outside the branch's own login; and home-service slots with travel buffers between appointments for the mobile beauty market.
Instagram deep links are cheap and effective: a link in your bio or story that opens the exact service in the app, with a web fallback for people who have not installed it.
The features we talk clients out of in version one: AI hairstyle recommendations, AR colour try-ons, gamified badges, in-app chat with stylists and a stylist marketplace. Each costs AED 8,000-20,000 in our experience, and none of them has shown up in a rebooking report we have seen. Add them in year two if your data says so.
Feature-by-feature add-on prices in AED
These are our estimates for adding a module to a tier 1 app. They are not from a rate card; they are what the work has cost on comparable builds.
| Add-on | What it does | Our estimate (AED) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Card deposits via PayTabs or Telr | Fixed, percentage or full prepayment per service, refunds, receipts | 3,000-6,000 | Gateway fees separate; see below |
| Apple Pay on iOS | One-tap deposit on iPhone through the same gateway | 1,000-2,000 | Needs the gateway to support it; PayTabs and Telr do |
| Tabby or Tamara | Pay in four on packages above a few hundred dirhams | 2,500-5,000 | Merchant rates are negotiated with Tabby or Tamara, not published |
| WhatsApp reminders and confirmations | Templates for booking, 24 h and 2 h reminders, cancellations, via Meta's Cloud API | 3,000-7,000 | Meta per-message fees separate |
| Loyalty wallet | Points or stamps, redemption rules, birthday rewards | 4,000-8,000 | Pairs well with packages |
| Multi-branch | Branch selector, per-branch services and staff, consolidated reports | 6,000-12,000 | Includes owner dashboard |
| Stylist commission and payroll report | Service-wise commission, tips, monthly summary export for WPS payroll | 4,000-8,000 | Exports to Excel or your payroll system |
| Home-service slots | Service area, travel buffer, address capture, call-out fee | 3,000-6,000 | Popular for mobile beauty and groom-at-home |
| Reserve with Google | Book button on your Google Business Profile | 5,000-10,000 | Requires an approved booking partner integration; check eligibility first |
| Arabic and English | RTL layout, language switch, bilingual notifications | 15-25% of app price | Arabic text supplied by you |
On gateways: Telr publishes UAE plans on its pricing page, checked 3 October 2026. A Startup plan at AED 249 a month with no transaction fee for salons under AED 10,000 in monthly card volume, an Entry plan at AED 199 a month and 2.45% plus AED 1, a Small plan at AED 99 a month and 2.35% plus AED 0.50, and a Medium plan with no monthly fee and 2.25% plus AED 0.50 above AED 50,000 a month, all plus VAT. PayTabs' pricing page had a UAE option in its country selector but showed no UAE rates when we loaded it on the same day; third-party comparisons published in 2026 put its Standard plan near 2.85% plus AED 1 with a monthly fee, so get a written quote from PayTabs before you choose. Our PayTabs vs Telr vs MyFatoorah comparison goes deeper, and the PayTabs and Telr integration pages list what we wire up.
If your bank already gave you a Network International terminal, N-Genius can take the online deposits too and keep settlement in one place.
How long does salon booking app development take in Dubai?
Eight to twelve weeks, if you give feedback within two working days. The weeks below are for a tier 3 build. A tier 1 app compresses the build to weeks 3-5, testing to week 6 and store submission to weeks 7-9.
Weeks 1-2: discovery and design. We take your service list, staff roster, branch details, cancellation policy and brand assets, and design every screen in Figma, including the Arabic mirror. You approve the designs before any code is written, and the second 40% payment falls here.
Weeks 3-7: build. The Flutter app, the web admin panel, the booking engine, payments and notifications. Every Friday you get a test build on your own phone through TestFlight and a Google Play internal track, and a 20-minute WhatsApp video call to walk through it.
Weeks 8-9: testing with real data. Your real services, real prices, your staff booking fake clients, deposits in the gateway's test mode and then one live dirham.
Weeks 10-12: store submission. We submit to Apple and Google from accounts in your name. Apple's review is the step nobody controls. It can be a day or two weeks, so we submit a near-final build early and patch after.
The usual slip is content, not code. Service names in Arabic, staff photos and the final price list arrive late in most projects, and each week they are late pushes launch by a week.
Flutter vs native for a salon app
We build salon apps in Flutter: one codebase that ships to both the App Store and Google Play. A salon app has no feature that justifies two native codebases. It needs calendars, forms, lists, payments and notifications, all of which Flutter does well, and Apple Pay works through the gateway's SDK.
Native makes sense when you need heavy camera or AR work, or when you have a large engineering team maintaining separate apps anyway. Neither applies to a salon. In our quotes, native comes out at roughly 1.6-1.8 times the Flutter price, and that multiplier is most of the gap between our AED 12,000-50,000 and the AED 50,000-plus quotes elsewhere. If you are weighing Flutter against the other cross-platform option, our Flutter vs React Native comparison for UAE apps covers the framework choice.
Dubai-specific items your developer must get right
VAT on receipts. If your salon is VAT-registered, every in-app receipt is a tax invoice. For amounts under AED 10,000 the Federal Tax Authority allows a simplified tax invoice, which still has to carry the words "Tax Invoice", your name, address and TRN, the date, the service and the total including 5% VAT with the VAT amount shown. We build this into the receipt template, not as an afterthought.
Store accounts in your name. Apple's Developer Program costs USD 99 a year per Apple's programs page (approx. AED 364), and an organisation enrolment needs a D-U-N-S number registered to your legal entity, which Apple uses to verify legal entity status with Dun & Bradstreet. Trade names and branches are not accepted. Google Play charges a one-time USD 25 registration fee per its Play Console help (approx. AED 92) and also asks organisations for a D-U-N-S number. Your DED (now DET) mainland or free-zone licence is what D&B uses to issue the number. We never publish a client's app under our account.
Personal data. Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, in force since January 2022, requires specific, informed consent before you process personal data, with a short list of exceptions and no "legitimate interest" basis. A salon app holds phone numbers, visit history and often before-and-after photos. We build explicit consent screens, a photo consent toggle per client, data export and account deletion, which Apple requires anyway.
Ladies-only privacy. We build staff profiles that show inside the branch login only, hide client lists from other branches, and keep public listings to service names and prices.
Running costs after launch
Budget AED 250-700 a month for hosting, store fees, messages and gateway fees, our estimate for a single salon and higher for multi-branch. An optional maintenance retainer of AED 500-1,500 a month is a separate line on our quote.
| Line | Cost | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud hosting and database | AED 150-400 a month | Our estimate for a VPS or managed Postgres at salon scale |
| Apple Developer Program | USD 99 a year (approx. AED 364) | Apple's programs page |
| Google Play registration | USD 25 one-time (approx. AED 92) | Google Play Console help |
| WhatsApp reminders | Meta charges per delivered template message to UAE numbers since 1 July 2025; utility messages were about AED 0.06 each on Meta's rate card when we checked in September 2026 | Detail in our Dubai WhatsApp chatbot cost post |
| Gateway fees | Telr's published plans above, or the rate PayTabs quotes you | Vendor pricing pages and quotes |
| Maintenance retainer (optional) | AED 500-1,500 a month (our estimate) | Covers OS updates, store policy changes, small fixes |
A salon sending 2,000 WhatsApp reminders a month is spending about AED 115 on messages. We scope the retainer per salon; some owners skip it and call us when something breaks, which is fine for a tier 1 app and risky for a multi-branch one.
When you should not build an app yet
Under two chairs. A solo stylist or a two-chair studio is better served by Fresha, a WhatsApp booking flow or a booking website. The app's running costs alone equal Fresha's subscription.
No repeat clients yet. An app rewards loyalty. If most of your bookings are first-timers from Instagram, spend the money on the website and ads first.
Fresha already fills your book. If you are turning clients away and marketplace fees are under a few hundred dirhams a month, Fresha is doing its job. Revisit when a second branch is on the horizon.
And when a remote team is the wrong fit: if you want someone in the salon to train staff on the floor, to sit with your accountant, or to be on call at 10 PM Dubai time during a launch weekend, hire locally and pay the local price. Our model does not cover that.
How we deliver salon apps to Dubai remotely
We have no Dubai office, so there is no in-salon training visit. Instead we record screen-by-screen training videos for your reception team and run live onboarding calls per branch. In our experience this outlasts a single site visit, because new staff watch the same videos months later.
Time zone: our hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM India time, which is 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM in Dubai. India is 1.5 hours ahead, so your whole working morning and most of the afternoon overlap with ours. Launch-day support is scheduled in advance.
Arabic: we build the RTL layout and the language switch; the Arabic copy comes from your side, as covered above.
Payment: we bill in USD or INR by international bank transfer. AED figures in this post are approximate conversions, not a local account. The schedule is 40% to start, 40% at design approval, 20% at launch. At handover, the source code, Figma files, domain, hosting and both store accounts are in your name.
Our only Gulf case study to date is the Dubai Digital Xchange Summit website. We have not published a UAE salon case study, so judge us on the demo builds you get every Friday and on our 4.9-star Google rating from 76 reviews. For comparison with what the same software costs in India, see our salon management software cost guide, and for the wider service, our app development in Dubai page.
Next step: a fixed AED quote in 24 hours
Send us three things on WhatsApp at +91 92771 84741 or by email at hello@codingclave.com, or through the contact page: your service list with prices and durations, the number of branches and chairs, and the features you cannot live without from the tables above, especially deposits, WhatsApp reminders and Arabic. We reply within 24 hours on a working day with a fixed price in USD and approx. AED, a feature list and a delivery date, and a 30-minute call if you want to walk through it.
Frequently asked questions
From our team, a salon booking app for Dubai costs AED 12,000-50,000 and takes 8-12 weeks, the same band we publish on our UAE salon booking app page. A booking-only app for one salon with services, stylist calendars and push reminders is AED 12,000-20,000. Add card deposits through PayTabs or Telr, WhatsApp reminders and packages and you are at AED 20,000-32,000. A multi-branch app with stylist commission reports, a loyalty wallet and Arabic and English is AED 32,000-50,000. Those are one-time build fees. Our general mobile app rate card for the UAE runs AED 12,000-75,000, and a salon app rarely needs the top of that range. When we searched in October 2026, one Dubai agency's AI salon booking app page added up to AED 125,000-295,000. That price buys two native codebases and an office, not more bookings.
The features that change your revenue are the ones that fill chairs and stop no-shows: a live calendar per stylist so clients book a person, not just a time; deposits or full prepayment on bookings over a threshold you set; reminders on WhatsApp 24 hours and 2 hours before the slot; one-tap rebooking of the last service; and packages or prepaid bundles for regulars. Arabic and English, a ladies-only privacy mode for staff photos, and home-service slots with a travel buffer matter in Dubai specifically. Skip AI style recommendations, AR hair colour previews and gamified badges in version one. They cost AED 8,000-20,000 each in our experience and we have not seen them move rebooking rates. Build the boring features well first.
For a single salon with under five chairs, Fresha is usually cheaper. Fresha prices by country and we could not confirm its UAE page from India, so check your own account. Its US list, per Pabau and Costbench in 2026, is USD 14.95 a month per bookable team member on the Team plan, plus a fee on each new client who finds you through the Fresha marketplace, charged on their first completed appointment. Costbench reports the US marketplace fee as 20% with a USD 6 minimum. A custom app is AED 12,000-50,000 up front plus AED 250-700 a month to run. Over two years the custom app wins when you have two or more branches, when marketplace fees cost you more than a few hundred dirhams a month, or when you want to own the client list and the brand on the home screen. Run both numbers with your own invoice in hand.
Eight to twelve weeks from kickoff to live on both stores, assuming you turn around feedback within two working days. Week 1-2 is discovery and UI design in Figma, including the Arabic layout. Week 3-7 is the Flutter build with the booking engine, payments and notifications, with a demo build on your phone every Friday. Week 8-9 is testing with your real service list and staff. Week 10-12 is store submission and review. Apple's review can take anywhere from a day to two weeks and is the step we control least, so we submit a near-final build early. Multi-branch apps with payroll and loyalty sit at the twelve-week end. The usual cause of delay is not code; it is waiting for service names, prices, staff photos and Arabic text from the salon.
Yes. We connect the app to a UAE-licensed gateway, usually PayTabs or Telr, which settle to your UAE bank account in dirhams. Deposits can be a fixed amount, a percentage or full prepayment, and the rules can differ by service, so a AED 1,200 bridal package can require 50% while a AED 80 blow-dry needs nothing. Telr publishes its UAE plans on its pricing page, from AED 249 a month with no transaction fee for salons under AED 10,000 in monthly card volume down to no monthly fee and 2.25% plus AED 0.50 above AED 50,000, all plus 5% VAT. PayTabs' pricing page showed no UAE rates when we checked; third-party comparisons in 2026 put its Standard plan near 2.85% plus AED 1 with a monthly fee, so ask PayTabs directly. In our builds, Apple Pay on iOS has raised the share of deposits completed. Tabby or Tamara can be added for packages above a few hundred dirhams, but their merchant rates are negotiated, not published.
If your clients are Emirati or Arab expatriate families, yes, and Arabic should be a first-class language, not a toggle buried in settings. If your book is mostly Western and Asian expatriates in Marina or JLT, English-first with Arabic available is fine. Bilingual adds real work: a mirrored right-to-left layout, Arabic fonts, and two sets of service names, descriptions, notifications and WhatsApp templates. On our quotes it adds roughly 15-25% to the app price. We build the RTL layout and the language switch, but the Arabic service names and copy must come from you or a native writer you trust, because machine-translated beauty terminology reads badly and clients notice. Settle the Arabic text before the build starts; it is the single most common cause of a two-week slip.
