Quick answer

What should we send to get an accurate USD quote?

Say what the thing must do and who will use it. Link whatever already exists: a Figma file, your current site, a prototype or the spreadsheet the software will replace. Name the systems it must connect to, such as Stripe or QuickBooks, and give the deadline and any budget. Each assumption we make is written into the quote.

  • Five lines and a link are often enough for a website
  • A design or prototype link beats a long description
  • A budget figure lets us suggest a scope that fits it

Three example briefs, and why each one is enough

These briefs are made up. Each gives us enough to ask two or three sharp questions and then price the job.

  • Example brief: an agency job

"Figma file attached: nine pages for a landscaping company, plus a quote-request form that emails their office. Hosting is on our WP Engine account; we need it on staging in three weeks." Design, page count, form, hosting and deadline: all there.

  • Example brief: an MVP

"Property managers log maintenance requests in a web app and contractors accept them. Stripe payouts can wait for version two. We have a Lovable prototype and about $8,000." Both users, what version one leaves out, a prototype and a budget.

  • Example brief: a store

"We sell handmade soap on Etsy, about 60 products, and want a Shopify store with US shipping rates and a wholesale price list. A ready-made theme is fine." Platform, catalog size, the one unusual feature, the design choice.

When you hear back, in US time

India keeps one clock all year, so our start time moves when yours does. Our day begins at 11:30 p.m. Eastern in winter and 12:30 a.m. in summer, which is 8:30 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. Pacific. A brief sent during your business day, Monday to Friday, is answered before your next morning. Sundays and Indian public holidays are the exceptions: a brief sent on a US Saturday afternoon waits for our Monday, which starts on Sunday evening or night for you.

Our working day, Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 19:00 India Standard Time, in each US time zone during US daylight time and US standard time.

Replies come from Ashish Sharma, Codingclave's founder, or from the developer who will do the work. Technical questions stay in the same email thread, so you never explain the job to a salesperson and then again to a developer.

Founder-led by Ashish Sharma

Ask on WhatsApp (India)

Is the quote really free, and does it commit us to anything?

It is free, and it commits you to nothing. A quote is a written offer: the scope, the weeks and one fixed USD price. Nothing binds either side until you accept the scope in writing and pay the first 40%. If you don't go ahead, you keep the document and owe nothing.

Can we get the quote by email only?

Yes. The form needs only your name and email: leave the phone field empty and choose email as your preferred contact. Questions, the quote and every later decision can stay in email. You can also skip the form and send the brief to hello@codingclave.com.

Can we talk on a video call?

Yes, on request. Choose "Video call" as your preferred contact or ask in your email, and we agree a time in writing. Our working day falls in the US night, so the slot is usually early morning or evening for you. A call is never required to get a quote.

What if our budget is below your prices?

Tell us the number anyway. If the full scope doesn't fit, the quote says so and shows what would: a smaller first version, a ready-made theme instead of a custom design, or one integration instead of three. If nothing sensible fits, we say that too, rather than quote a price we couldn't deliver for.

How accurate is a quote from a short brief?

The price is fixed for the scope written in the quote, so the risk of a wrong estimate sits with us. A short brief just means more assumptions, each written down, such as "one language" or "up to 50 products imported from a spreadsheet". If one is wrong, tell us before you accept and we re-quote.

Can you quote for finishing work another team started?

Yes, once we have read the code. Send repository access or a copy and a list of what is broken or unfinished. We review it, then quote a fixed price for the repairs, or tell you if rebuilding would cost less. Keeping hosting and domains in your company's name makes any change of developer simpler.
