E-Commerce Development in Charlottetown

Charlottetown is the capital of Prince Edward Island and the largest city in Canada's smallest province, with a metro population of around 80,000. PEI has become an outsized destination for new Indian immigrants relative to its size — the South Asian population has grown more than fivefold in a decade to roughly 4,500 residents (Statistics Canada 2021), almost entirely through the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program. Indian-origin entrepreneurs and workers are now visible across the city's hospitality, retail, healthcare, food-processing, and trucking sectors. The economy is anchored by the provincial government, the University of Prince Edward Island and Holland College, tourism centred on Victoria Row and Cavendish, agriculture and seafood processing (the island's famous potatoes, mussels, and lobster), aerospace at Slemon Park, and a fast-growing bioscience cluster supported by the BioFoodTech facility. The Indo-Canadian business community, though small, is one of the most rapidly forming in Atlantic Canada, with grocers, restaurants, immigration consultants, and trucking firms appearing along University Avenue, Stratford, and Cornwall.
